Hung Up is a decent song, but it is SO overhyped and overrated by so many of her fans that it makes me resent it, same with the album as a whole tbh.

Oh my. I'd hate for the general reaction to a song/album to taint my enjoyment of it. That's a genuine shame and I truly mean that, not being a c**t.

 

I mean I can understand (just fundamentally disagree with) why people aren't so hot on the album, especially compared to some of the older material which has more heft lyrically and more substance. Totally aside from thinking Hung Up is the best song ever, it's what made me a fan and also features a sample of one of the best singles of my other favourite act of all time, so it's an almost star crossed moment of perfection for me.

 

But honestly, if people are coming in here and hand on heart, 100% honestly and truthfully as if their life depended on it telling me that Hung Up is a worse song than at least a half of what is still in that poll then I truly do not understand how those people work. There's finding it overrated and/or middle of the road, but that is just as extreme and potentially ridiculous as my constant love in for it.

I must admit my vote for HU is purely tactical, I don't want to see it win. But I'm a twisted being.

I must say that John's reactions in this survivor have been giving me life!! I completely agree that from the most objective view I can manage, it's hard to see how 'Hung Up' would be seen as one of the worst on the album by more than just the odd person (odd in both sense!). But I also get that constant praise for a song that you may not particularly be big on in the first place can really drag your opinion down on said song.

 

It makes me sad that 'Isaac' and 'How High' are looking likely to leave soon. I'd allow the precious 'Like It or Not' out over them.

Me too, especially 'How High'. I would definitely vote for 'Hung Up' before I would vote for either of them (let that be a warning x).

 

I like 'Hung Up' but let's be honest, if you would take out the sample then there's not much substance left.
