96. Rudimental ft. Will Heard - I Will For Love

Total points: 164

Chart run: 6-4-11-15-26-28-33

Rudimental were back with their 2nd album in 2015, We The Generation and I Will For Love was its opener. This single followed Bloodstream & the huge (in this chart) Never Let You Go however it flopped comparatively in the official charts, limping in at a lowly #180. Still, it managed a top 5 peak here thanks in part to the solid production and vocal talents of Will Heard, who they would rely on more than a couple of times this era. It didn't have a hugely long chart life but it did match the peak of Never Let You Go which will be waiting a long time to appear itself here.

5 down today, more to follow over the course of the weekend :D thanks to all comments so far!

Sorry is quite good, excellent by Justin Bieber's usual standards though and probably my favourite song by him!

Been so disappointed with Rudimental this era after loving their 1st era :(

looking forward to this as your personal chart is one of my faves on the forum

some good songs already too although nothing I love too much, poor 'Hold My Hand' missing out on top 100 though :(

'Sorry' is quite a tune but oddly I find myself preferring 'Love Yourself'.

95. Jess Glynne - Ain't Got Far To Go

Total points: 166

Chart run: 6-4-8-10-22-30

Jess Glynne was huge in 2015 both officially and on this chart, making 8 appearances in total, all taken from her hugely successful debut album. A flurry of tracks entered upon its release but this was by far the most successful. Despite only charting for 6 weeks in total, 4 of those were in the top 10 as this catchy number followed her #2 hit Don't Be So Hard On Yourself. This is a really cool track with an upbeat, feel good vibe and I would love to see this pushed as a proper single following Take Me Home. I should note that it was the album version which charted, not this acoustic version which received the full video effect.

Yes Dan :D I am too looking forward to yours, especially the top 10 - I feel we may be seeing a few matches in there!

I do like Hold My Hand more than the chart run suggests, it did come close to re-entering after the album was released.

Both are great but Sorry just takes it for me.

Next we come to the first tie on total points, just to get this jargon out of the way now ties are broken by the following criteria:

1. Higher peak

2. Total weeks on chart

3. Weeks at #1

4. Weeks top 3

5. Weeks top 5

6. Weeks top 10

If still (I doubt this would ever happen) then alphabetically 'cause cba

94. Philip George - Afraid To Love

Total points: 168

Chart run: 4-7-11-9-17-30

Afraid To Love was the follow up to the enormous Wish You Were Mine, however it wasn't released as a single (a decision I was mostly happy with as his actual follow up was leagues ahead). Still, after the performance of his debut on this chart I was very much excited for new material. This is a pretty decent track with good vocals and production but it just didn't click in the way his other 2 entries did. 3 weeks top 10 was a reasonable display but only managing a further 3 overall this couldn't anywhere near match the levels of his before and after releases which each spent a month at #1 here.

93. Naughty Boy ft. Beyoncé & Arrow Benjamin - Runnin' (Lose It All)

Total points: 168

Chart run: 23-4-4-6-13-28

Another track which spent half of its relatively short chart life in the top 10, it's the return of Naughty Boy with Runnin' (Lose It All). This was a track which took a few listens to fully grow but I was then loving it for a short spell. A real smooth feel to the production and 2 strong vocal parts means it ranks among his better tracks, although I think I'd have preferred it even more if it was solely Beyoncé on vocal duties. Even so it performed well enough to place here although it has faded in recent weeks hence its swift exit from the chart.

92. Timmy Trumpet - Nightmare

Total points: 169

Chart run: 29-15-13-12-11-15-23

Timmy Trumpet is most certainly known best for his debut single Freaks, however it was Nightmare which did the business in this chart. Freaks to me, although still good, felt a bit more novelty whereas Nightmare is just a solidly produced house instrumental. A good beat matched with a great drop pushed this song top 40 right at the back end of November last year, where it would spend 5 weeks in the top 15 without cracking the top 10. Unlucky to just miss out there but it accumulated enough points to end at #92 in the EOY.

91. Natalie La Rose ft. Fetty Wap - Around The World

Total points: 170

Chart run: 6-2-8-11-28-X-28-34

Dutch singer "Natalina Rose" burst onto the scene this year with Whitney Houston-inspired Somebody, however that failed to chart here. What did chart was follow up Around The World, peaking as highly as #2 and only kept off the top spot by Where Are U Now. This is a really enjoyable track with much more of a hip hop feel than Somebody, featuring DJ Mustard-like trap production and a token indecipherable input from Fetty Wap. It did shoot out of the chart rather quickly though before a brief resurgence following the premiere of the video. Those extra 2 weeks were enough however to push the track into the top 100!

Hi Dobbbo

Runnin' spent most of its time in my top 10 as well, I think I was just so hyped 'cause new Beyonce and she sounded so good on it but then I realised it was just kind of boring so got tired way too quick.

Ain't Got Far to Go is probably my favourite album track on there so here's to hoping it'll be a single, I wonder if she'll go for another ballad or not next, she's had so many uptempos so far but she's way better at them so I want her to push another.

I did like I Will For Love and it is very pleasant on the ears but I got bored of it so quickly (in a 10 to out of the top 50 type way ) because it was just so uninteresting, a technically very good song but it did not excite me at all and once I'd heard it a few times, there was no need for me to go back to it, glad they picked it up with Lay It all On Me in terms of both personal opinion and chart performance.

Great stuff so far!

Sorry, but I cannot agree in any shape or form that Alone No More is better than Afraid To Love. And I hate Around The World aswell.

I Will For Love is great though, as is Sorry, Runnin' (Lose It All) and Hold My Hand. I must check out that Blonde track, as I Loved You, All Cried Out and Feel Good (It's Alright) were all number ones in my chart.

poor unreleased 'Afraid To Love' :snif: for me it's far better than 'Alone No More', it just has that edge to it.

whilst 'Runniin' is good it didn't do much in my chart, I would give it a solid 7.5/10 but that's not enough these days.

'Somebody' is leagues ahead of 'Around The World' imo, not the other way round.

Yeah Runnin' didn't hang around at the top of my playlist for long, very much now a track I don't mind hearing but not something I'd actively chose to play.

AGFTG definitely stood out from first listen. I'd imagine she'd push either this or perhaps continue the ballad route and go for Saddest Vanilla? I actually quite like that too so either way I don't mind.

Similar situation to me with I Will For Love then. Very much Rudimental by-the-numbers. Lay It All On Me is a bit of a change up sound so no surprise it's hanging around very well (plus the Ed Sheeran effect is proving very helpful of course)!

Hiya TG!

That's fair enough, we can both agree however that Wish You Were Mine is his best yes?

Glad to see you like the others mentioned. The Blonde track is very much unlike their chart hits but as mentioned, a very nice throwback. Wow 3 #1's on your chart is impressive too.

There's still a possibility it may be released down the line. Even if not it'll surely be on his album which will still mean 3/3 great tracks.

Yeah I'd probably rank it about that too now but for those 3/4 weeks it was at about a 9

Agree to disagree on NLR ;) I do like Somebody but it's a little bland and I'm not that keen on Jeremih's parts either.

Yes, WIsh You Were Mine is his best.

3 #1's is something six artists have on my chart (those being Ella Eyre, Ella Henderson, Blonde, Jess Glynne, Little Mix and Sigma, in order in which they achieved the feat). Blonde are, however, the only one of those six to achieve with their first three chart hits (although Sigala could become the second, as Easy Love and Sweet Lovin' were both number ones on my chart, depending on how much I like his third track).

Ain't Got Far To Go is quite good, probably my favourite of the non singles from her album at the moment and I really like All Around The World :heart

Absolutely adore Runnin so great to see it top 100 here, easily one of my favourites this year

Big YES to the Ella Eyre love! She has 11 weeks at #1 in my chart, the most of any act. In fact I like all 6 of those.

Sigala is definitely bringing the goods this year too.

Would be great to see it get a full release, already a top 75 hit of course so I'm sure it'd do well.

I'm expecting Runnin' to be very high up your Chart.

Runnin'

Natalie La Rose

Philip George

All so good :cheer:

:D
