Union J - You Got It All

 

 

As this was long gone from the chart by the time 2015 came around I've chosen to make it chart ineligible, although I didn't get a chance to hate on it in last year's as the song had not yet been released. In any case it is seriously awful and bland, and their desperate measures to attempt to rig their way to #1 fell flat when Ed Sheeran had enough streams to overtake them officially, making them the first Sales #1 to never make it officially. And the following week it fell to #34 which was one of the most amusing chart moments ever. :D

 

David Guetta - Hey Mama (feat. Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha & Afrojack)

 

 

Whilst I don't hate this enough for it to make my top 10 I feel this definitely deserves a mention considering this is DAVID GUETTA who is someone I would usually expect to make a proper banger. But no.. instead he decides that not only this is good enough to be on the album, but to be a single too. And it quickly became really annoying. Especially the chorus, who thought that male voice was a good addition?!? and the lyrics aren't exactly good either.

Hey Mama one of the worst of the year? :( It's potentially David Guetta's best song, it'll be in a polar opposite position on my chart. It's so fierce and mad, I always just wanted to dance in my car when it was on.

10. 5 Seconds Of Summer - She's Kinda Hot





5 Seconds of Summer? More like 4 Minutes of Awfulness as they once again gave us an ear torture. Not quite as bad as last year's "efforts" 'She Looks So Perfect' and 'Amnesia' and thankfully not doing as well in the chart as them. Now because I'm lazy I'm going to re-use some of my commentary from the hate chart:

This kind of pop-rock is one of my least favourite genres ever so unsurprisingly I think this song is really awful. Not helped by them saying 'though' about 100 times throughout the song either. At least it didn't spend ages in the chart like their debut 'She Looks So Perfect'.

09. Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband

 

 

 

Thankfully, despite being by a popular female, this got a lot of hate for being completely uninspired and trash. The instrumental sounds exactly like Olly Murs' Dance With Me Tonight, a song I never liked either so a female version of it wasn't exactly going to be to my tastes. But the lyrics are really awful, I don't like the idea of her husband having to be perfect in every way and kissing her ass every night. No redeeming features to this really. Yet there are still 8 more songs to come.

Okay maybe I lied a few posts ago when I said only 5SOS would make a re-appearance. Because I remembered this song existed and as you may guess I think it's seriously awful. Anyway, this dull and boring song somehow became a popular album track, with it spending ages in the chart before even entering the top 40. And of course when it did it stayed there for months and only just left last week. I really don't get Ed Sheeran ballads, both this and Thinking Out Loud are his worst singles for me, but clearly they have their fans or they wouldn't have massive chart runs. In any case Sheeran definitely needs to take a long break as it's been years since we last had an Ed-free chart.

She's Kinda Hot was really bad, I don't even mind them and quite like a few tracks like Don't Stop/Good Girls but this just had no melody and stupid lyrics, it would probably be in my bottom 10 too.

 

DFH is great for me, I appreciate the lyrics aren't great but I like the way she delivers them with sass and I like the colourfulness of the video too.

Dear Future Husband is fun, catchy and amazing and I also really like She's Kinda Hot :heart:

Photograph is so dull though! (and unfortunately going to make an appearance in my EOY chart as I charted it at like #39 for one week :kink:)

07. Fall Out Boy - American Beauty/American Psycho

 

 

 

No. Just no. I've never been huge on Fall Out Boy but they have at least made some tolerable songs over the years, but with this latest album campaign they haven't given me a single song that I liked. This one in particular is just seriously awful and annoying. S/O also to 'Centuries' although it is from last year for making a complete mess of 'Tom's Diner'. Ew. Can we get some decent songs like 'My Songs Know' next time please?

06. Jamie Lawson - Wasn't Expecting That

 

 

 

So this song actually managed to become a big hit single. Well I wasn't expecting that :basil: But seriously, what we really don't need more of in the chart are acoustic singer-songwriter types (James Blegh and Tom O'Dull are other recent offenders). And as those 2 have nicknames why not one for this guy too? Anyway, Jamie L'Awful seems to not expect anything that happens ever and this refrain gets annoying fast, but more to the point the song is just so dull. Trust Ed Sheeran of all people to have signed him to his new label therefore plucking this song from out of obscurity where it should've stayed.

Both of those 2 'songs' are absolutely horrendous and both so deserving of their placings! Looking forward to attacking both of them in my thread soon, especially that crap at #7 here which is a big contender for worst song of the year! :puke2: :puke2:

You're just picking songs I like now :lol: AB/AP was probably the worst track on the album so not sure why it was picked as single but it's still a nice track even though it's a bit annoying sometimes.

 

WET is really cute and the lyrics towards the end are so sad, reminds me of Small Bump a bit in that aspect where the lyrics are so touching. The song is a bit repetitive but personally I think that adds to its charm.

 

Photograph is gorgeous too and will be appearing in my EOY, I loved hearing it every week on the chart show, it just continued to grow on me.

05. Little Mix - Black Tragic

 

 

 

As with the majority of girlband singles this was seriously overhyped by BuzzJack, despite being really awful. Why Little Mix? :no: Why'd they have had to descend to this standard when they previously released greats like 'Move', 'Wings', even their winner's single?? I don't know. But it's not the Little Mix I want at all. The lyrics in particular are so off-putting. I just hate the theme of falling in love via a special potion. Reminds me of kids fairytales too much. Plus the basic production really does not fit a song called 'Black Magic'. And as I mentioned the song was overhyped/exposed to the max which made me sick of it even before it was released to iTunes. S/O also to 'Love Me Like You' which is also really bad but didn't quite make my top 10.

I'll give you that Fall Out Boy song, it's dreadful, but the rest are great :cry: Dreading the hate chart #1 :kink:

04. Stereo Kicks - Love Me So

 

 

 

Here's what Ultraviolence had to say about the song in the hate chart thread:

 

Whoever thought an 8 piece boyband was a good idea were out of their minds and X-Factor 5th place Stereo Kicks lasted one single before breaking up (to the relief of everyone). Love Me So is similar to a Westlife song. Which is practically one of the worst comparisons a song could ever receive. Watching paint dry on a wall for 5 hours would be more fun than listening to this dull boring song with horrid and terrible vocals. It’s a shame they didn’t leave X-Factor in the 2nd week when they were bottom 2  Anyway this debuted at an awful 31 before plummeting down the chart never to be seen again at a comical rate. And they split up :cheer:

 

I couldn't agree more tbh, thankfully the song is so forgettable that I won't ever have it stuck in my head, but it's seriously DULL, no wonder they flopped. At least they had that #12 midweek smash they could brag to their fans about when they eventually split :')

03. Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance

Shut Up and Dance? More like Shut Up and F**k Off because that's what I was thinking throughout the majority of its overly long chart run (thankfully it is finally out of the top 40 now). It was okay for like 2 listens and then became more and more annoying with every listen since, and trust me it felt like it was inescapable. Especially when we tried putting the radio on in US America on our holiday, this was one of about 10 songs they would play (they also spammed Hey Mama a lot which was really annoying for me too). How to make a bad song worse 101: add another boring singer onto the track and "harmonize" with him. Seriously though, the parts where they sing together are some of the worst in music ever. I know it was for charity and all but I wish the UK public didn't put this ear rape at #1 for 2 weeks. The song in itself is so dull no-one could sing it and make it sound interesting, but when you have Smith and Legend on it that instantly makes it a lot worse. Even the Sam Smith solo version is awful as it still has his wailing, but the John Legend addition really decreases the quality. For this chart I've combined both versions but hilariously that didn't happen in the official chart.

 

Now which song will be my #1 hated of 2015???
