This was an immediate highlight from the album, and 15 months later it's still stunning.

An everlasting classic, it spent 8 weeks in my top 40, and a further 16 in my top 100 this year. Edited January 24, 20169 yr by Taylor Jago
January 24, 20169 yr Redemption is quite good from Life, shame it didn't do much in the chart. Glow, NLG, Eyes Shut, Lush Life all great :cheer: Secret Love Song is amazing  my favourite from this era.
January 24, 20169 yr Author #56: Hozier - Take Me To Church MYSVMgRr6pw Year of release: 2013 Chart Run: {79-73-67-75-71-55-37-21-22-24-22-24-26-30-32-35-34-37-35-39-49-51-58-57-59-59-51-40-35-57-74-86-92-x7-95} Peak: #21 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 27 At #56 we have one of the biggest hits of 2015 with Hozier's Take Me To Church. A song about his frustations on the Catholic Church's stance on homosexuality, is it mere coincidence it was such a massive success the year both Ireland and the United States legalised gay marriage?
January 24, 20169 yr Author Bloodstream is decent and MNEK/Zara is great. Sax is fairly good, but I didn't get fully into it. Cheerleader is amazing  :music: and PBJ was a late grower for me. I liked the Foxes song but she has done better! Sam Smith tho  sounds just like Lay Me Down which was already a decent cure for insomnia :kink: I love Carly's track  Redemption is quite good from Life, shame it didn't do much in the chart. Glow, NLG, Eyes Shut, Lush Life all great :cheer: Secret Love Song is amazing  my favourite from this era. I'm still furious that Redemption didn't even make the top 100  Currently I prefer Black Magic and Love Me Like You but it's still early days for Secret Love Song.
January 24, 20169 yr Author #55: Blonde featuring Alex Newell - All Cried Out xU9PpGecFuM Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {19-1-7-8-14-19-27-30-33-21-26-28-35-39-48-45-37-53-82-79-96} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100: 21 At #55 we have Blonde again, this time accompanied by Alex Newell with All Cried Out. It was their second number one, although it then broke the record for biggest fall from number one, a record it still holds. Alex Newell has since released his first solo single, This Ain't Over (yes he's a man, you'd be forgiven for thinking otherwise though).
January 24, 20169 yr Author #54: Years & Years - Memo a8fAsYRWiAs Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {40-40-33-25-13-10-6-6-5-6-8-15-19-23-25-27-34-38-35-34-36-40-40-41-18-16-27-29...} Peak: #5 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 24 Years & Years now, with one of my favourites from Communion. Memo may not be as exciting as the other tracks on the single, but its rawness is a nice change (as fantastic as the uptempo tracks are) and it would be a much better single than Gold, in my opinion.
January 24, 20169 yr Author #53: Years & Years - Ties r3nertWi_Mg Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {17-14-12-6-5-5-4-7-10-15-18-18-18-22-24-26-33-39-40-37-40-43-47-42-23-25-34-37...} Peak: #4 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 24 Another track from Communion now, Ties was my favourite track out of those I hadn't already heard, and I think it would be a very good single.
January 24, 20169 yr Author #52: Rachel Platten - Stand By You bwB9EMpW8eY Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {17-1-5-10-16-20-23-26-24-29-35-39-47-54-59-64-57-75-72...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 15 Rachel Platten appears for the second and final time in this countdown with the fantastic Stand By You. Personally, I find this to be vastly superior to Fight Song. Although it has had a relatively short top 40 run for a number one, the fact it's finally starting to gain the success it deserves could send it back up.
January 24, 20169 yr Author #51: Sia - Alive t2NgsJrrAyM Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {14-12-7-7-8-10-12-17-21-29-31-19-24-36-41-55-74-69...} Peak: #7 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 14 Just missing the top 50 is Sia with Alive. Despite its rather low #30 peak, and its incapacity to return to the top 40 despite having everything thrown at it, it's still a fantastic song and one of her best. Much better than Bang My Head, although that is at a disadvantage since Fetty Wap features.

An absolutely stunning track.

A simple, piano-based, beautiful song, over time this has emerged as one of the best tracks from the album, although it never made the top 40. Until, of course, its use as a tribute to the victims of the terrorists attacks on November 13, 2015 sent it up to #12.
January 25, 20169 yr #51: Sia - Alive this is ok, but the Cahill remix of this is really good :music: #52: Rachel Platten - Stand By You   this is definitely my favourite song by her. Really good vocals and powerful in general. Slowly creeping up the chart I see :cheer: #53: Years & Years - Ties decent album track from Communion :D #54: Years & Years - Memo this one too, but prefer Ties slightly more! #55: Blonde feat. Alex Newell - All Cried Out very good follow up to ILY, but prefer the latter. #56: Hozier - Take Me To Church this was eventually a grower for me, quite nice :D

Proving itself to be an everlasting classic, it remains a regular in my charts almost two years after its release. And to think they've made three better tracks.
January 25, 20169 yr Author #47: Charli XCX featuring Rita Ora - Doing It Km3agvlyRmM Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {62-9-11-12-11-12-12-14-15-11-14-23-32-45-51-62-67-87-85-89-89-90} Peak: #9 Weeks on top 100: 22 At #47 we have Charli XCX and Rita Ora with Doing It, a song which sadly had a rather short chart run when an atrocity entering the top 10 the same week spent four months in the top 40. In my chart, it peaked at #9 and spent 10 weeks in the top 15.
January 25, 20169 yr Author #46: Ella Henderson - Empire 2oZhrFRN3Pw Year of release: 2014 Chart Run: {26-30-31-36-42-43-49-50-46-52-45-45-43-41-38-38-36-40-38-37-41-44-52-59-45-49-51-54-58-57-56-56-58-67-72-72-78-81-80-73-67-64-69-68-66-77-87-91-98-95-91-90-91-88-86-90-89-88-97-100-90-81-62-43-56-63...} 2015 Peak: #36 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 52 2014 EOY: #129 At #46 we have the second of four songs to have spent the entire year in the chart with Ella Henderson's Empire. I can only say that this was a missed single opportunity, but then again, there were quite a lot of potential singles and the era stopped after just four.
January 25, 20169 yr Author #45: Electric Light Orchestra - When I Was A Boy tM34A80RTv4 Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {1-4-8-10-12-16-16-14-15-17-12-16-22-31-36-52-55...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 13 At #45 we have Electric Light Orchestra/Jeff Lynne's ELO with the fabulous When I Was A Boy. What a comeback this was, and while it did nothing chart wise it proves that even 45 years after their first single, ELO are still more than capable of making tunes.
January 25, 20169 yr Author #44: Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do AJtDXIazrMo Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {9-2-1-1-4-7-10-8-16-34-40-53-57-57-48-65-74-87-100-95-97-98-98} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100: 23 Another artist starting by the letter E, at #44 we have the theme to the 50 Shades Of Grey movie. It's the 2015 "Absolute Beginners" case, where a terrible film (50 Shades Of Grey/Absolute Beginners) has an absolutely fantastic theme song (Love Me Like You Do/Absolute Beginners by David Bowie). With Bowie's death two weeks ago, the theme tune now also have the fact they were both the second new number one of 2015 and 2016 respectively in common.

With this appearing he has appeared in five consecutive EOY top 100, appearing from 2011 to 2013 with Read All About It, and in 2014 and 2015 with Lullaby.
