#42: Kygo featuring Ella Henderson - Here For You

Year of release: 2015

Chart Run: {22-6-5-7-11-8-11-13-16-21-29-37-42-62-61-73-71-40-24-40-56...}

At #42 we have Kygo and Ella Henderson with the fantastic Here For You. Since everything either artist touches turns to gold, there was no doubt a collaboration between the two would be excellent, and the blend of Kygo's production and Ella's vocals is magical.

That being said, I wish it had a music video which wasn't terrible.

Just missing the top 40 is Kygo (again) this time with his first hit Firestone. This is everything a great dance track should be, and it's a lot better than anything on the Stories album. Let's hope his second era doesn't see him descend to such lows.

NTL is AMAZING :music: by far Sigma's best for me. Doing It, Here For You and Lullaby are very good, but I'm a big lover of LMLYD  and Firestone was my biggest chart hit of the year for me : :cheer:

Kicking off the top 40 is Foreigner with the 30 year old classic I Want To Know What Love Is. I discovered this following its use in an advert and its inclusion of Now That's What I Call Power Ballads, and it reached my top 5 this year.

Next at #39 we have Labrinth with Jealous. I'm not going to pretend I understand why this is considered so bad. It's an absolutely heartbreaking song, and the personal experience is indeed there. Buzzjack, on this one you have got it completely and utterly wrong.

Ella Henderson again, with her third single Yours. It reached #16 in the official chart and sadly spent only 5 weeks in the top 40, although it did appear on Now That's What I Call Music! 90 :yahoo: Such a beautiful song.

Finishing at #37 for the second EOY in a row, Ella Eyre's Comeback lasted long enough in the new year to spend 5 weeks in the top 10 and a further 7 weeks in the top 40. It also spent an extra 2 weeks following the release of Feline.

Glad you're liking all the tracks!

Only 17 days until his debut album is out! (I think)

WHAT!!!??? *.* How did I not know he had an album just around the corner!!!?? :o  must listen to it asap when it's released!

I don't hate Jealous but it's extremely poor by Labrinth's standards. It isn't just that his genre of music in Jealous is different to his others (Beneath Your Beautiful is a great track for example) but this one has poor lyrics, next to nothing in terms of instruments and he doesn't even sing too well either. And to make it worse it succeeded very well in the iTunes chart, constantly climbing up whenever someone sang it on X Factor or whatever it was  :drama: only good thing about it for me is that it keeps him relevant today :P

Surprised how low Yours is :o I wasn't that keen on it at first but grew to like it quite a bit!

Comeback is a very good Ella Eyre track as well.

At #36 we have the first hit single for Years & Years, and the song which introduced me to them. Obviously they'd slay much more with King and Shine (both still to come) but this is excellent aswell.

Premiered just two weeks after Jason Orange's departure from the band was announced, These Days was a great song which returned Take That to number one. One year on, it's still fantastic.

At #34 we have Naughty Boy, Beyoncé and Arrow Benjamin with Runnin' (Lose It All). Which reminds me I completely forgot to add Beyoncé in the redemption event. Anyway, this is fantastic, contains more quality in its first second than in the whole 3:36 of 7/11, and it returned Naughty Boy to the charts, giving him the last laugh over Zayn Malik.

The final 70s classic in this countdown is from Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel with Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me). Even if it's 41 years old, it's still a great track and one which will live on for a very long time.

At #31 we have Philip George with Afraid To Love, a song which unfortunately never was released, with the actually quite bad Alone No More chosen (for whatever reason) instead. This is incredible, and while not quite as good as Wish You Were Mine, it's still fantastic and it should have been a hit!

#30: Disclosure - Jaded

Year of release: 2015

Starting off the top 30 is Disclosure with what is by far the best song from Caracal. After having disappointment after disappointment, I was losing faith in Caracal (a bit how FourFiveSeconds, Bitch Better Have My Money and Work has made me go completely off ANTI, the difference being Disclosure were making disappointment and not horrors) but this put me right back on the bandwagon. Both the production and the vocals are great, I love the futuristic theme, and for once in the era, it's a job very well done.
