December 16, 20159 yr Author 26. SHUT OUT OF PARADISE - SLO 182,650 9/8 wks/Ramrynia n04vxazPpiM Ryan's 5th of 6, or 3rd of 4 in the 50, and it's a sensitive, lovely tasteful and spacious ballad, with a great vocal performance, convincingly heart-felt. The second top 10 from BJSC of the year, and criminally I think this one failed to make the final. It's just gorgeous and I demand a recount!
December 16, 20159 yr Author 25. HOT - POWERS 186,000 5/4 wks/Syndare mEBJYXtxveI Currently number 5 in Popchartfreak charts and inevitably this brilliant record will climb higher up this list, I was disappointed this didn't smash when there's so much in it to love, from the descending sexy opening chords, the impassioned vocals, the kiddie-chorus-with-attitude, the sheer nonchalance self-belief, and the extra twiddly bits popping up throughout to add interest. Syndare's second on the list, and sole top 50, but future top 20 rated. Fab!
December 16, 20159 yr Author 24. PUSH - A-Track featuring Andrew Wyatt 196,100 11/8 wks/Cor Lupus PbzL3_IJRII Cody's top-rated track in my list, and at least 2nd of the 100, this is just a great falsetto groove, and beat, and tune, and knocked on the doors of my top 10 and "silver disc" status to boot. "Push"es my buttons at any rate
December 16, 20159 yr Author 23. BURN WITH ME - Whilk And Misky 233,050 7/8 wks/Kluminican Republic -dOHS2jsP_0 First of 3 in the 50 for Klumzee, and 4th in the 100, and this retro-blues-growler with EDM stylings was just fab-u-lous, unlike anything else this year and a stand-out top 10 chart hit for us who do enjoy the different. It also sadly didn't hit the Buzzjack love-buttons and failed to make the final. Pah! So wrong, wrong, wrong!
December 16, 20159 yr Author 22. YOUNG AND RESTLESS - Benjamin 233,050 7/7 wks/Farahtyn DgejtcRYxjs When it comes to teen pop, I'm often suspicious of the Hit Machines pushing them as product, but can be convinced when it's got the song and a bit of attitude on it's side. This is just a great pop song, and with respect to those famous other current pop stars, it's a better record than many of them bung out. Hook-tastic. Farahtyn's sole entry, but it almost made the top 20 :cheer:
December 16, 20159 yr Author 21. DO IT WELL - XYconstant featuring Tom Aspaul 254,400 6/12 wks/Ramrynia fZ5Cua4dYTY Sadly falling short of the 20, it's Ramrynia's final entry, the fab Do It Well. I was already charting this one when it very happily popped up in BJSC, it's pure class EDM of the Years And Years variety, laid-back uptempo, and melodic, and should have become a huge hit. Or at least a middling one! Pity Ryan didn't end up in the 20, but hey, having at least 8% of the top 50 is small consolation. That's almost one in every 10! :yahoo:
December 17, 20159 yr Author 20. THE GATES - Young Empires 311,400 6/14 wks/Kylienips xpHnwNUr1UQ The second of 3 in the 50 for Mart!n (come back Mikey wherever you are!) and the first to break the 300,000 barrier, it's the brilliant The Gates, a powerful sobering albeit anthemic EDM track. The video is unusual, with religious imagery mixed with planetary situations, leaving me bemused and confused but impressed, it seems to add another layer to the song of belief or loss of belief or loneliness. Or maybe it's just a great pop song!
December 17, 20159 yr Author 19. ELECTRIC LOVE - BORNS 318,850 12/17 wks/Kluminican Republic RYr96YYEaZY The second Top 30 of 3 for K.R. and this one has legs - Electric Love is pure glam rock Gary Glitter/T.Rex stomp done EDM stylee, and is pure upbeat joy. Great song, great record, love it, love it. The highest-rated record not to make my top 10 but so good anyway it had two runs in my chart, the second following official UK release.
December 17, 20159 yr Author 18. CIRCLES - Truls 323,100 5/8 wks/Kluminican Republic _fTOnRfnrfI Falsetto indiepop for the 3rd and final KlumRep top 50 track, and this one is still charting and increasing sales so should go higher. From the orchestral intro to the infuriatingly catchy hook, it's a beautifully concise and well-made pop song. Great to sing yourself hoarse to trying to reach those impossible notes.
December 17, 20159 yr Author 17. I'M IN LOVE - Noonie Bao 323,800 5/12 wks/Quintessa zNVeMUXhKl0 Another grower for Leonardo's 4th and highest listed track, the Swedish songwriter Noonie Bao's under-rated gorgeous EDM delight - that melody is a real killer, I just ache for it, and the unusual vocal and odd quirky backing vocal arrangement in a tastefully elegant production is contagiously attractive. Fab.
December 17, 20159 yr Enjoying reading this, definitely some parallels in our taste even though you haven't really fallen for any Hendinia songs this year! Big love for the two Kluminican songs just up.
December 17, 20159 yr Author 16. DIMITTO (LET GO) - Kato and Safri Duo featuring Bjornskof 328,400 4/9 wks/Federal Republic Of Ashton VgkNZjWLKPI Silas' main track of the year for me, a great dance pop stormer that could have easily been a huge European and UK hit, it's anthemic, catchy, very much current-sounding, and Safri Duo go back a way in my charts to boot. Explain in 20 words why it didn't chart big in the UK.... :o
December 17, 20159 yr Author 15. HAPPINESS - IAMX 329,150 3/9 wks/Botannika k58LRJ3tIdg One of the most powerful entries of the year, the angry exasperation with the politically powerful and what are they are doing to the world just chimes totally with me, the vocal shouting is amazing, justified and effective, the almost sobbing, the EDM-indie-rock groove is so suited to the subject matter, and this one is also still gaining chartpoints. Botannika's biggest and best for me.

Explain in 20 words why it didn't chart big in the UK.... :o Great to see some love for this! It's such a smash, just a shame no one has thought to release it here, Played-a-live was a huge hit so it's not as if Safri Duo don't have some star power.
December 17, 20159 yr Author 14. BABY LOVE - Petite Meller 330,750 7/20 wks/Tartford XDBJVgIVPcs AH Gold's best record of the year, and another one of those "Yer what!" moments when it DNQ'd. I charted it immediately mumbling incoherently about injustice B-) Happily it actually became a UK charting hit single, albeit minor, which allowed me to go "hah!" and give it an extended chart run. The song? girlie vocal, driving beats, catchy tune, fun video and a deserved sales hit.
December 17, 20159 yr Author Great to see some love for this! It's such a smash, just a shame no one has thought to release it here, Played-a-live was a huge hit so it's not as if Safri Duo don't have some star power. My pleasure and thanks for entering it! And explaining why it wasn't a UK hit, no wonder if it's not actually released! :( Pah! Record companies!
December 17, 20159 yr Author 13. YEAH YEAH YEAH - Jax Jones (featuring Nina Simone) 333,500 4/10 wks/Vulkyria _eaIurlPB7w Vulkyria's biggest was essentially a sample-tastic double-barreled Massive Attack on Nina Simone, and oh my word it's just a great dance mix, 2 classy originals converted into a frantic current fab fab goodie. Love it, love the strings, Nina's vocal, the borrowed Unfinished Sympathy hooks in the background.
