21. DO IT WELL - XYconstant featuring Tom Aspaul 254,400

6/12 wks/Ramrynia

Sadly falling short of the 20, it's Ramrynia's final entry, the fab Do It Well. I was already charting this one when it very happily popped up in BJSC, it's pure class EDM of the Years And Years variety, laid-back uptempo, and melodic, and should have become a huge hit. Or at least a middling one! Pity Ryan didn't end up in the 20, but hey, having at least 8% of the top 50 is small consolation. That's almost one in every 10! :yahoo:

Indeed, a fantastic achievement! :D Many thanks for all the appreciation

12. EASY LOVE - Sigala (featuring The Jackson 5) 344,650

5/12 wks/Aquafina

A worthy winner and subsequent UK chart-topper from Lee who was on a roll, till it went pear-shaped. I really don't mind samples when they are nothing like the original, or respectful, and this great fun dance track took the best bits from one of the weakest Jackson 5 singles ABC, and improved on it. Great to hear young Michael J topping the chart again, and an instantly likeable pop track for me.

11. WHEN - M + A 416,650

4/12 wks/Jadakissnia

Jade's biggest of the year, the gorgeous laid-back summery vibes of When. The record has such a lovely melody, and effortlessly glides along the low-key hook without being in-yer-face at any time, it just niggles it's way in and never becomes boring, it's a long-term song to reward on ipod shuffle replay for me! It's also the first to hit 400,000 and just misses the top 10 by 3000, doh!

That is an INSANE figure for "When"! It's not one of Jade's best (though with "Time" and "Virtual Paradise" literally nothing comes close so far) but it's pretty high up there.
I do really like 'When' but it's the least essential of the Jadakissnia qualifiers so far (I 'only' gave it 7 points )

10. BACK HOME (MATOMA REMIX) - MYNGA featuring Cosmo Klein 420,600

2/10 wks/Ethanola

Another terrific falsetto tunetastic dance remix, and it's all about the song, especially the melody and the vocal, and the catchy arrangement supports the whole. Great pop is irresistible to me! Ethan doesn't have many on the list, but the one that is is a biggie.

9. OVERLOADED - Life Of Dillon 429,500

2/9 wks/Ojnoj

Another fab pop track, it has that great Euro-stomp now sound, and as boybands go it's a cut above. For a start they have a lead vocalist with an interesting and emotive voice, an actual great pop song, and a lack of cheese. So good they have a good follow-up single charting top 20 this week for me. Jonjo also only the one big track listed but as I say, I do love a great pop song.

So close but so far from the top 10! Still an amazing showing for 'When' however! I think you may be its biggest fan ;o Although I know it was pretty high up in Rich's votes too.

Thank you for the inclusion, I'm very glad it connected with you so much! <3

A yashesi track in the top 8, yasss. Didn't expect that after such a mediocre year for our point swappage

8. INSIDE OUT - Spoon 433,550

1/14 wks/Kylienips

The biggest case of DNQ injustice of the year, and yet again it's poor ol Kylienips on the sharp end. Mart!n picks quality tracks, and this was the best of a great bunch this year. Why is it so good? The lead singer sounds like John Lennon at times, that is a very very good reason in itself, but the synth chords are delicious, the twiddly synths fluttering about are delightful, and the vocals achingly fab. There's no hook whatsoever, and I don't see that as necessarily a bad thing when the musical journey itself is so absorbing. One of only 2 buzzjack tracks (other than mine) to top my charts in 2015.

7. I'M IN LOVE WITH MY LIFE - PHASES 474,950

3/13 wks/Harmonica

Firstly the eye-catching video is one I love rewatching, I love the look of the band, I love the song which is SO catchy, such a fab melody and hook, with actual harmonies and the male-female vocals to adore. It's not a "2015" sound but it has a timeless pop appeal for me. Love it! Riser has been hot in my charts this year, picking one cracker after another, all different genres, and even when I don't know who has entered the song (UP), so I'm looking forward to some 2016 tips, yay!

Thanks for entering it Jade, under-rated say I! Subtle isn't always spotted come voting time, but sometimes it do well

Hi Tim, been a year of extremes I think, there's a few Yehesi's down the bottom-end, and just outside the 100, and one monster..but is it top 5?

Yay Phases :cheer: I love watching and re-watching the video for that as well. Looking like a great top 10 so far! 'Overload' sounded bland to me at first but grew on me massively, surely could have been an official chart hit with more of a push. I've liked a few Spoon songs over the years but 'Inside Out' was a fantastic return to form for them, so captivating

6. FUEL TO THE FIRE - Rationale 499,300

2/11 wks/Mulgracia

James' best-ever entry, and a worthy winner, I went mad on this the moment it entered James' charts. It's just brilliant, spine-tingling soul in a contemporary sparse EDM production backdrop, and that vocal from Rationale is powerful in a very Joan Armatrading stylee. His follow-up is currently in my top 10, and the second of 2 in the 50 for Mulgracia. Fan-bloody-tastic record should have been a hit.

5. HEAVEN - Shaun Frank and KSHMR featuring Delaney Jane 516,00

3/8 wks/Aeroche

Leww has been on a bit of a streak this year too, 3rd of 3 in the 50, and this was a grower for me. I liked it, but grew to love it, and it's still charting high and upward-bound. Another worthy winner, it's the combination of a great pop song with a banging dance arrangement that does it, great vocal, great song, it builds, it twists and turns, I love that "woihn" sound when it stops momentarily, the bippity-boop percussion, and those awesome beats. This needs to become a big UK hit in 2016 I absolutely insist!

4. YOU DON'T OWN ME - Grace featuring G-Eazy 520,150

3/15wks/Unovia

SO happy this has become a big UK hit, I've loved the song for 20-odd years, and when original singer the wonderful Lesley Gore died earlier in the year it gave me an excuse to give it the chart-topping status it has never had in the UK, despite being huge in the USA. A girl-power anthem when there was no such thing in the pop charts of the early 60's Grace had a new take on it, pure 2015, and just as anthemic. I still love the original but this is as good in it's own right, and it justifies the existence of the X Factor, being as it made it a hit after being big in Buzzjack. Liam did good entering this one!

3. HOLD ME UP - Conrad Sewell 554,750

2/11 wks/The Actual Republic Of Bellamia

From featuring status to solo shoulda-been pop star status, I dunno why this hasn't smashed the charts either, great song, and he's a great singer, so many teen idols have rubbish voices, here's one with the range to convince on a well-made pop song, strings, tempo, melody, hook, all in place, tick, image, tick, missed the boat....tick! How annoying! Maybe it's just TOO uptempo pop in the post-Bieber less frantic new stylee. Joseph doesn't have many other entries, but hey one biggie and it's top 3 time!

2. BODY - Niia 638,400

1/12 wks/Yehesi

Tim has entered some gems, including future UK chart-toppers, but this one came as a huge lovely surprise, subtle, gentle, sexy, laid-back and classy. The song is lovely and affecting, from the piano-intro to the soft-soul shuffle rhythm, the breathy vocal, and the strings turning up for effect not for dominating. It oozes quality, and became the second of only 2 BJSC in 2015 to top my charts. I still love it to bits, though again I think the low-key nature works against big votes across the board. Pity. I like that Tim has experimented more this year with genres, even if they don't all click with me as regularly as 2014 did, cos this may be my all-time fave Yehesi entry.
