So we're at the top 2! Two underrated pop heavyweights who missed the UK top 10, but who will come out on top?

02 Carly Rae Jepsen – E-MO-TION

UK peak: #21

My peak: #1 (3 n/c wks)

Highlights:

01 E-MO-TION

02 Run Away with Me

03 Warm Blood

04 Gimmie Love

05 Your Type

The honour of runner-up in this countdown goes to perfect pop princess Carly Rae Jepsen. This is quite possibly the most frustratingly underrated album of 2015, having achieved little commercial success anywhere outside of the lead single I Really Like You peaking at #3 in the UK and being a minor hit elsewhere. Even the soaring, universally acclaimed single Run Away With Me couldn’t touch the top 40, but why?  This album is an astonishing 80s throwback that could teach any pop girl a thing or two, it just isn’t getting the support it needs to catch on so remains easily the most underrated album of the year.

That means, of course, #1 is.....

01 Selena Gomez – Revival

UK peak: #11

My peak: #1 (1wk)

Highlights:

01 Good For You

02 Hands To Myself

03 Same Old Love

04 Sober

05 Me & The Rhythm

Of course, as the header maybe gave away, Selena was bound to top something! Whether she'll do the double remains to be seen of course ;) Revival is an astonishingly produced pop album, boasting Rock Mafia, Max Martin, Stargate and Matman & Robin, laced with melodies and a healthy dose of versatility. Selena gets sexy on lead single Good For You, playful and multi-faceted on Hands To Myself, unleashes her sass on the funky Me & My Girls and mourns a love in Sober. Selena uses her coy and sexy vocals to her advantage, and the flawless production on this album is the perfect pairing, which renders pretty much every song enjoyable at worst and astoundingly good at best! There are still so many hits left aside the 3 singles, especially Sober, Me & The Rhythm and Survivors, so this era could continue well into 2016!

200 Finlay Robertson – Somebody That I Used To Know (X Factor New Zealand Performance)

Kicking off the top 200 is mostly a mish-mash of album tracks and non-UK singles/flops, with one chart hit of sorts from Ella Eyre. There are two X Factor performances in this initial block; 9th placed Finlay from New Zealand’s version and 6th placed Natalie from Australia’s season. From the same Australian season, Louise Adam’s melodically gorgeous debut History is at #199, just behind Fleur East’s funky album track (who herself is of course an X Factor runner-up). Album tracks from Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez (the first of a few for her), Justin Bieber and Janet Jackson also feature alongside Ricky Martin’s Aussie hit and WW flop and Ella Eyre’s umpteenth single to peak between 10-20 in the UK.

194 Justin Bieber ft. Halsey – The Feeling

195 Natalie Conway – Toca’s Miracle (X Factor Performance)

196 Selena Gomez – Survivors

Ella is my fave from this second but good section overall :D

Yes at The Feeling  a Purpose highlight for sure!

Glad to see Revival above Emotion, I do like the latter but I feel it's slightly overhyped oops. Revival feels very underrated on the other hand :(

It really is! The production makes it a stellar pop album and she just isn't getting the credit, I hope Hands To Myself is a big hit WW (including the UK) because she's really overdue a big hit. GFY did very well despite the peak though.

181 Alesha Dixon – The Way We Are

182 Meghan Trainor ft. John Legend – Like I’m Gonna Lose You

183 Ciara – Dance Like We’re Making Love

184 Skrillex & Diplo ft. Justin Bieber - Where Are Ü Now

185 Melanie Martinez – Alphabet Boy

186 Meg Mac – Never Be

187 5 Seconds Of Summer – She’s Kinda Hot

188 Jason DeRulo ft. Jennifer Lopez & Matoma – Try Me

189 Madonna – Livin’ For Love

190 Demi Lovato – Father

In this next block of 10 we have the song behind one of the pop moments of the year - Living For Love! We all know that her BRITs performance was overshadowed by her damn cape throwing her down those stairs, but it's a very good pop song and one of her best in years. Aside from Madge, we also have the first of a few appearances for Demi Lovato, with her token emotional ballad about her dad, Melanie Martinez, with a quirky beautiful alt-ballad and Ciara, with a sexy R&B jam. As well as these, teen hearthrobs 5SOS make a somewhat surprise appearance with their reviled comeback single She's Kinda Hot, which I actually really like as a bit of a 90s pop-punk throwback. An album track from Jason DeRulo which is a tip for 2016 also features - Try Me is surely a hit when released?!

Hi Liam

Here is what I like :D

181 Alesha Dixon – The Way We Are - Good Like the rap version :D

183 Ciara – Dance Like We’re Making Love - Love this, shocked its low :(

184 Skrillex & Diplo ft. Justin Bieber - Where Are Ü Now - Like this now :o

185 Melanie Martinez – Alphabet Boy

186 Meg Mac – Never Be - Johnny Mac and Meg started a band :kink:

189 Madonna – Livin’ For Love

190 Demi Lovato – Father

171 Jason DeRulo – Cheyenne

172 Little Mix – Weird People

173 Meghan Trainor – Lips Are Movin’

174 Hilary Duff – Sparks

175 Ivy Levan – Biscuit

176 Mans Zelmerlow – Heroes

177 Bojana Stamenov – Beauty Never Lies

178 Courtney Barnett – Depreston

179 Ariana Grande – Focus

180 Madonna ft. Nicki Minaj – Bitch I’m Madonna

Madonna again in this section, with her "star studded" (lolz) video Bitch I'm Madonna. It's thought as a bit of a mess in relation to her career in general, and whilst it really is light years off of Into The Groove or Like A Prayer, it's still a hot mess. Speaking of messes, the chorus of Ariana's Focus is one but the rest of the song is still strong enough to overcome that. Only two album tracks appear in this section - Courtney Barnett's meaningful slowie Depreston and Little Mix's funky jam Weird People. Eurovision also gets its first representation, with this year's winner Heroes actually being the second lowest of those to chart, just above Serbia's diva.

161 Watermat ft. Becky Hill – All My Love

162 Louisa Johnson – Billie Jean (X Factor Performance)

163 Inna ft. Alexandra Stan & Daddy Yankee – We Wanna

164 Sigma ft. Ella Henderson – Glitterball

165 DNCE – Cake By The Ocean

166 Zedd ft. Selena Gomez – I Want You To Know

167 Prince Royce ft. Jennifer Lopez & Pitbull – Back It Up

168 Kelsea Ballerini – Love Me Like You Mean It

169 Natalie La Rose ft. Jeremih – Somebody

170 Nick Jonas – Levels

King of my pants heart Nick Jonas kicks off this section with his kinda pointless re-release single Levels, but it was funky af so we'll allow it. A couple of minor/middling US hits that didn't cross over to the UK from Kelsea Ballerini (the first female country debut to reach #1 on countryradio for nearly 10 years), Nick's brother Joe's new band DNCE and Prince Royce & J-Pit. A chart smash debut from Natalie La Rose as well as a big dance smash from SigElla also appear in this block, as well as the second Selena Gomez appearance.

Derulo, Little Mix, Meghan (one of two good singles that are hers), Ivy (Think I have heard), Manz (You know how I feel about this man ), Courtney Barnett, Ariana Grande, Madonna, Watermat, Louisa, Sigma, DNCE, Zedlegnd, Kelesa, La Rose  and Nick Jonas

151 CeCe – Dead 2 Me

152 Tink – Ratchet Commandments

153 The Weeknd – The Hills

154 Karen Harding – Say Something

155 Jordin Sparks ft. 2Chainz – Double Tap

156 Miley Cyrus – Twinkle Song

157 Ida LaFontaine – Anthem

158 Maroon 5 – Sugar

159 Sia – Alive

160 Maraaya – Here For You

This section is kicked off by more Eurovision, this time Slovakia's duo Maraaya with a modern sounding string laden pop track. Two of the year's biggest hits from Maroon 5 and The Weeknd are also present, although they didn't fare quite so well in this YTD as the UK's! The only other UK charters come from Sia and dance diva Karen Harding, with a stunning Miley Cyrus track and Unovia's first BJSC entry of the year from X Factor US alumnus CeCe with her storming, sassy electropop track.

DNCE could still potentially cross over to the UK, I mean if it gains enough traction in the US to pull a "Stitches", then maybe.

Queen CeCe Frey slaying

Fingers crossed, but you're right! It's catchy and poppy enough.

141 Rae Morris – Under The Shadows

142 Mariette – Don’t Stop Believin’

143 Ella Henderson – Mirror Man

144 Adele – Send My Love (To Your New Lover)

145 Louisa Johnson – Forever Young

146 Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean?

147 Adele – Sweetest Devotion

148 Jess & Matt – Do You Remember? (The X Factor Australia Performance)

149 Drew – Ugly

150 Pia Mia - Touch

This block features the highest placed X Factor Australia song of the year - which is a far cry from Reigan Derry's top 20 position from last year! It comes from loved up duo Jess & Matt, with their cover of Jarryd James' hit Do You Remember, which was a really charged performance that oozed chemistry. As well as this, Drew's Ugly is another another Unovia BJSC entry, two places higher than CeCe in this EOY despite finishing a good 20 places lower in the contest... A monster tropical house hit from Justin Bieber, Louisa Johnson's bomb of an X Factor winner's single, a potential 2016 hit from Pia Mia and an anthemic Melodifestivalen 3rd placer from Mariette are all among the other songs in this set of songs.
