January 2, 20169 yr Author 131 Jason DeRulo – Want To Want Me 132 Ciara – That’s How I’m Feelin’ 133 Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You 134 Selena Gomez – Me & My Girls 135 Florence & The Machine – Delilah 136 Loreen – I’m In It With You 137 Rihanna ft. Kanye West & Paul McCartney – FourFiveSeconds 138 Melanie Martinez – Sippy Cup 139 Jess Glynne – Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself 140 Ciara – One Woman Army Ciara is prominent in this block, with both the pop stomper One Woman Army and the top-down jam That's How I'm Feelin' feature in this section, both being highlights of her Jackie album <3 Queen of the year Selena Gomez also grabs another entry with the sassy Me & My Girls, while Carly Rae (who will also rack up a few more appearances) is also present with Emotion's catchy lead single I Really Like You. Possibly this year's most disappointing artist Rihanna limps with her highest entry at only #137 - a far cry from top 20 EOY hits with Diamonds and Stay in recent active years. UK #1s from Jess Glynne and Jason DeRulo become the first to feature in this countdown also.
January 2, 20169 yr Author 121 Demi Lovato – Stone Cold 122 Lena – Traffic Lights 123 JoJo – When Love Hurts 124 Louisa Johnson – I Believe I Can Fly (X Factor Performance) 125 Louane – Avenir 126 Ciara – Give Me Love 127 Ellie Goulding – On My Mind 128 Felix Jaehn ft. Jasmine Thompson – Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better) 129 Nick Jonas – Chains 130 Fleur East – Tears Will Dry A rare dance hit I love is in this section :o A tropical house rendition of a Chaka Khan classic is at #128, sung by 15 year old Jasmine Thompson. Ciara gets a 3rd entry in 2 sections as well, with the poptastic Give Me Love which should have been a single for sure! Album tracks from Fleur East and Demi Lovato bookend this set too, but they couldn't be more different - a slick Xenomania esque electro-pop track vs. a stunning powerful piano ballad. Nick Jonas' Chains, the second of his two entries, ramps up the sexiness whilst Louane's Avenir brings some bouncy fun with a BJSC hit.
January 2, 20169 yr Ciara YESSS especially Give Me Love  Good to see Carly here too. 'Tears Will Dry' is one of the good ones on Fleur's album (it has a fair few tbh!) - expecting a lot more from her to come. Fabulous top 2 in the albums btw, love them both! (also aside, my brother cam up to me today and said "have you heard of Courtney Barnett.." he's a massive fan of her! :o)
January 3, 20169 yr Author Ciara YESSS especially Give Me Love  Good to see Carly here too. Fabulous top 2 in the albums btw, love them both! (also aside, my brother cam up to me today and said "have you heard of Courtney Barnett.." he's a massive fan of her! :o) There's actually only 2 Fleur songs to come :o *spoilerz* Yaaasss Unovia impakt, Courtney is spreading *.*

Pitbull – Shake That 113 Halsey – New Americana 114 Bonnie Anderson – Unbroken 115 Louisa Johnson – Jealous (X Factor Performance) 116 Fetty Wap – Trap Queen 117 Louisa Johnson – It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World (X Factor Performance) 118 Dolly Style – Hello Hi 119 Florence & The Machine – What Kind Of Man 120 Madonna - Ghosttown The highest of 3 entries for queen of pop Madonna starts off this set; a gorgeous mature ballad! Definitely a contrast to the likes of Bitch I'm Madonna. Two more X Factor performances from Louisa Johnson also bow out, leaving just two more to come. One of the year's biggest hits, Fetty Wap's Trap Queen, is the only top 10 hit in this set and is quite atypical for this countdown! It's hella catchy though, just undeniable. Eurovision adjacent songs come from Melodifestivalen losers Dolly Style with their kawaii entry and Estonia's Eurovision top finisher Goodbye To Yesterday, a wonderful alt-pop tinged duet. Two BJSC entries from Halsey and Bonnie Anderson also appear next to each other.
January 3, 20169 yr 111 Elina Born & Stig Rasta – Goodbye To Yesterday 112 Samantha Jade ft. Pitbull – Shake That 113 Halsey – New Americana THIS HOLY TRINITY! 114 Bonnie Anderson – Unbroken 115 Louisa Johnson – Jealous (X Factor Performance) 117 Louisa Johnson – It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World (X Factor Performance) Fab stuff!

January 3, 20169 yr Author 101 Tori Kelly – Hollow 102 Major Lazer & DJ Snake ft. MO – Lean On 103 Carrie Underwood – Renegade Runaway 104 Liz ft. SOPHIE – When I Rule The World 105 Louisa Johnson – Let It Go (X Factor Performance) 106 Kacey Musgraves – Biscuits 107 Years & Years – Shine 108 Tori Kelly ft. Ed Sheeran – I Was Made For Loving You 109 Carly Rae Jepsen – Your Type 110 Fleur East – Baby Don’t Dance This section begins with Fleur East's second entry and her highest album track, the saxtastic Baby Don't Dance. It may be very similar to Sax but if ain't broke don't fix it, it's still very much a highlight of the album. The second Carly Rae single of 3 to enter, although she has album tracks left too is at #109 whilst Tori Kelly also loses two tracks. Her latest single Hollow falls just short of the top 100 while a sweet duet about love with Ed Sheeran is at #108. Big UK hits from Years & Years and Major Lazer also bow out, as does the penultimate track from Louisa Johnson, this time a showstopping cover of James Bay.
January 5, 20169 yr Author 91 Kelly Clarkson – Heartbeat Song 92 Namie Amuro – Golden Touch 93 Carrie Underwood – Heartbeat 94 Awa – Obvious 95 Grimes – Flesh Without Blood 96 Elliphant – Love Me Badder 97 Delta Goodrem – Wings 98 Carrie Underwood – Smoke Break 99 Tori Kelly – Nobody Love 100 Anja Nissen – Anyone Who Had A Heart Kicking off the top 100 is a cover of a Cilla Black classic from The Voice Australia winner Anja Nissen, but wasn't released in response to Cilla's death in 2015. This was used as the theme for Australian drama Love Child, becoming her first Aussie top 40 hit. It doesn't deviate too much from the original but Anja's soaring soulful voice is perfect for the song! Tori Kelly loses yet another song here, leaving just one to come. Nobody Love was her debut single, written and produced by Max Martin. The end result was of course a perfect pop track, tailor made for radio but sadly it never really caught on. Carrie Underwood's lead single from Storyteller is far from her best, hence it's fairly low placing here compared to what may be expected of her. Smoke Break is typical Carrie really, of course that isn't a bad thing though <3 Delta Goodrem came back fighting with a Aussie #1 after a period of lowered relevancy. It's no surprise that this struck a chord with the public, as Delta's vocals soar over a striking beat and the result leaves her sounding fresher and more powerful than she has in absolutely years. Elliphant received critical acclaim across the internet for her single Love Me Badder, although sadly that didn't translate to commercial success. The song is best described as exactly what Rihanna should be releasing; a full fat island jam with plenty of swagger and attitude plus a catchy hook for good measure. Grimes is also a critics darling, but she also had limited commercial success with her album Art Angels. Flesh Without Blood is a perfect balance between her alterantive style and pop with a wide appeal; not a million miles away from Marina & The Diamonds. Awa's Obvious was a Unovia potential to BJSC that was snatched by Altyr, and finished 11th in the end. It isn't the most unique or exciting song ever, but it's a melodically lovely pop track that struck me hard. The second Carrie single to bow out in this section leaves just one more in this countdown, plus an album track. Heartbeat is the second single from Storyteller, and brings the tempo down from the lead single. It's a typically gorgeous Carrie ballad with a love story at its core which has surely only just taken off and will be a mainstay on country radio for months to come. The Japanese queen of pop Namie Amuro has 2 songs in this top 100, the first of which is Golden Touch. Complete with a genius interactive video, Golden Touch is a brilliant pop song backed by horns, boasting an addictively catchy chorus. Ending this section is Kelly Clarkson, who may also be surprisingly low for some, but this has hardly been her strongest era. Nevertheless, Heartbeat Song is a very enjoyable, catchy little pop song with a soaring bridge and addictive hook. It lacks the punch of some of her classic hits but it really wormed its way into my affections over time, a real grower <3
January 5, 20169 yr Hi Liam, 91 Kelly Clarkson – Heartbeat Song 93 Carrie Underwood – Heartbeat 95 Grimes – Flesh Without Blood 96 Elliphant – Love Me Badder 97 Delta Goodrem – Wings 98 Carrie Underwood – Smoke Break 99 Tori Kelly – Nobody Love 101 Tori Kelly – Hollow 102 Major Lazer & DJ Snake ft. Ed Sheeran – I Was Made For Loving You 109 Carly Rae Jepsen – Your Type 110 Fleur East – Baby Don’t Dance I like Carrie, Major Lazer, Y&Y, Kacey, Carly, Kelly, Grimes all so good :D
January 6, 20169 yr Author 81 Kelly Clarkson ft. John Legend – Run Run Run 82 Marina & The Diamonds – Savages 83 Molly Sanden – Phoenix 84 Eves The Behavior - TV 85 Petite Meller – Baby Love 86 Kelly Clarkson – Invincible 87 Carly Rae Jepsen – Gimmie Love 88 Tkay Maidza – U-Huh 89 Ellie Goulding – Something In The Way You Move 90 Florence & The Machine – Queen Of Peace This section begins with two of the biggest British females of the past few years! Florence & The Machine's Queen Of Peace was released as the third single from her third album, accompanied by a double-length 10 minute epic video that also featured album track Long & Lost. The song is a classic Florence anthem with a striking instrumental backdrop, characteristics of the more raw and stripped back sound of the album compared to Ceremonials. Something In The Way You Move is the next single from Ellie in the US, although the UK the situation is still confusing! Much closer to Ellie's old style than On My Mind or Love Me Like You Do, this is a sonically intriguing and magical pop song which there should have been more of on Delirium. Tkay Maidza is a new name in music, who smashed BJSC with U-Huh (the second FARC 18pts from Unovia in a row *.*) earlier this year. The track is an attitude filled mix of electro-pop and rap, from a girl who is undeniably one of the freshest young rappers in music I'd love to hear mroe from. The first Carly Rae album track in the countdown is next. The whole album channels 80s, and Gimmie Love is a prime example. It's catchy, as poppy you can get and a total earworm that won't leave your head for yonks after listening <3 More floppage from Kelly :o :o :o Invincible was the follow-up to Heartbeat Song, and liek its predecessor its hardly a classic Kelly single but as ever she still pulls it off. Written by Sia, the influence is clear on this empowering power ballad - it is very Sia. But the powerful chorus especially elevates this track high above most of the album. Baby Love was a minor hit earlier this year despite DNQ'ing in BJSC beforehand, shame t wasn't as big as the chorus is *.* The rave piano in this song is so euphroic, it never fails to lift me up and make me happy and want to dance! TV is another BJSC entry, this time a smash as this finished 2nd. A huge alt-pop track, TV boasts dreamy synths and disillusioned vocals, that make for a real addictive listen. Phoenix might be a pretty straight copy of Chandelier, but it's such a good imitation we'll let that slide! Molly's voice is incredible and more than carries the track, as always. Re-listening to this sets the anticipation levels for her 2016 Melodifestivalen entry to an all time high *.* Marina came back strong this era, and Savages is easily the album track highlight. It's classic Marina that easily would fit on Family Jewels yet still slots in easily on Froot as well with its magic melody and addictive chorus. Kelly dropping out again, only one song left :o Run Run Run is gorgeous though, a simple and stunning piano ballad really lets Kelly's vocals shine. This would do wonders as an awards season single but it's too late in the campaign I fear.
January 6, 20169 yr Great to see Florence going so well, also Ellie, Carly, Kelly , Petite and Marina doing well too
January 6, 20169 yr Gah so much I love in these so far. My ABSOLUTE favourites being 'Your Type', 'Shine', 'Love Me Badder', 'New Americana' and 'Ghosttown'! If this is the standard already the top 100 I am excited for what is to come
January 7, 20169 yr Author 71 KDA ft. Katy B & Tinie Tempah – Turn The Music Louder 72 Namie Amuro ft. Hatsune Miku – B Who I Want 2 B 73 Aminata – Love Injected 74 Carrie Underwood – Little Toy Guns 75 Years & Years – Eyes Shut 76 Violet Chachki – Bettie 77 MNEK ft. Zara Larsson – Never Forget You 78 Sandra Lyng – Play My Drum 79 Little Mix – Love Me Or Leave Me 80 Billie – Give Me The Knife Perennial BJSC veto Give Me The Knife kicks off this section, sadly Billie is not the one famous for Honey To The Bee, Because We Want To and Day & Night </3 This is a moody electro-pop track, excellently produced with an addicting melody. Little Mix have had an excellent year so it's no surprise they rack up another entry here. Love Or Me Leave Me is a heartbreaking ballad, with relatable lyrics and stellar vocals all round. But it's Leigh-Anne who really steals the track with a final chorus that must be one of the best vocal performances in the girls' entire discography. BJSC crops back up again, this time in the form of Play My Drum. Sandra Lyng was a distant 2nd to the vastly inferior winner Sigala, but Play My Drum was actually a hit in my chart where it matters. This is a perfect summer anthem, with a trumpet hook that will refuse to leave your head for days, if not weeks. MNEK and Zara Larsson are both newcomers, and what a song to smash into success with! Never Forget You slowly climbed the charts to becoming one of the year's most surprising hits given its OA/OS release and the artists' lack of star power. Zara's vocals in particular shine on this dance track, she's set to have a big year in 2016! Violet Chachki won Drag Race in 2015 and wasted no time in releasing music. Unlike the usual fun, trashy Drag Race music, Bettie is a dark, brooding and experimental bondage anthem. Yep, bondage anthems exist now. Years & Years had a big year, and they've rounded it off with Eyes Shut being another UK hit. The gorgeous ballad was an instant highlight of the album; Olly's voice really suits the emotion. Plus, "you come over with your friends, I don't wanna talk to them" just gets you EVERY time doesn't it? </3 Flopping as much as her fellow Idol Kelly!!!11! Carrie's Little Toy Guns is her second highest entry and was the second and final single from her greatest hits collection, an impactful mid-tempo belter that benefits from Carrie's always incredible vocals. Aminata was one of Eurovision 2015's big surprises, as Latvia had awful luck in the years prior! Love Injected was just undeniable though, with its epically huge chorus and alt-R&B vibes it powered past most of its rivals to finish 6th. Namie Amuro's second entry is one which received assistance from hotshot new producer SOPHIE and vocaloid popstar Hatsune Miku. B Who U Want 2 B is characteristic of SOPHIE's production; bouncy and unusual but most of all so so addictive. Rounding off this section is a UK #1 from dance producer KDA, with vocals from Tinie Tempah and Katy B. Turn The Music Louder is one of the best dance tracks of the year, with both Tinie's rap and Katy's vocals (especially THAT belt) being flawless, and the instrumental being so catchy. I go mad for this in the club every time.
January 7, 20169 yr KDA, Carrie, Years and Years, Violet, Little Mix and MNEK ft Zara all so so so great
January 8, 20169 yr Author 61 Emilie Esther – I N E S C A P A B L E 62 Ella Eyre – We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off 63 Justin Bieber – Sorry 64 Adele – When We Were Young 65 Carly Rae Jepsen – Warm Blood 66 Foxes – Body Talk 67 MO – Kamikaze 68 Jess Glynne – Take Me Home 69 Rita Ora – Poison 70 Little Mix – Hair Kicking off the section is yet another Little Mix album track, this time it's Hair. One of the album's highlights, this sassy track is full of attitude and singlalong hooks. It's classic Little Mix but fits the newer sound they're pushing with on Get Weird too - a prime example of how well they're evolving. Poison was Rita's first solo single in over a year following a messy break-up with Calvin Harris that led to her previous #1 I Will Never Let You Down being pulled from the album. The track is a big electronic power ballad with a huge chorus that shows off Rita's vocals to arguably a better extent than any of her singles so far. Jess Glynne's horrendously overrated #1 Hold My Hand didn't stop a good pair of singles following, Take Me Home being the best <3 She has a gorgeous soulful voice that wasn't shown enough on her dance songs, but Take Me Home is a raw, emotional ballad that utilises it to its fullest potential. Kamikaze is a rather underrated pop song, perhaps still overshadowed by the residual slayage of the huge hit Lean On. This in much the same vein as that, being another Diplo production, and could easily be a slow burner in 2016 for her but I think it's passed now. From one underrated pop song to another, it's Foxes! Body Talk is the first single from Foxes upcoming second album, and is easily her best since Youth. This really needs more appreciation in all its shimmering, glittery, disco-pop glory. Warm Blood is a real highlight from Carly's album Emotion! The dark, brooding synths and flecks of moody production along with Carly's unique voice really make this a must-listen - I'd love it to become a single and get a video! When We Were Young will probably be higher in 2016's year end following its single campaign, but for now it's just outside the top 60. It was an instant highlight of 25, possessing a timeless feel that makes me think it could go down as a modern classic. It sounds like Carol King could have written it in the 70s  Another album track from Ella Eyre is at #62, her gorgeous cover of a Jermaine Stewart classic. The stripped back arrangement is the perfect chance to let her raw vocals shine, something which isn't always possible on some of her dancier singles. Finally, the 3rd highest Unovia BJSC entry is at #61. Emilie Esther won Denmark's X Factor in 2015 and wasted no time in unleashing a huge RedOne produced uptempo and slaying us all with her huge choruses and amazing vocals.
