It really wouldn't be that hard for NHS Choir to take it, even if one in 13 people that WORK for the NHS bought the song it would go to No.1. They just need to ramp up their efforts in these last two days, in the same way that they have today.

This is part of the reason I didn't bet on Bieber last week (even though I think he'll still get it). The UK public have a tendency of getting behind the strangest things at the most unexpected times and nothing is ever a dead cert when sales are so low.

It's a shame there's no betting open for Xmas No.1 album though, I'd happily put £500 on Adele!

I've worked for a bookie in the past. They don't care whether they win or lose on these markets - if they lose they just use it as PR (plus their customers are kept happy). This market accounts for about a millionth (literally) of their stakes across the year so they're really not bothered - if anything they'll be happy to pay out and get the publicity and watch punters reinvest the winnings in football and racing. On top of that, their books are often in good shape because people back no-hopers like Cliff Richard, Adele and Stormzy, not to mention the early fav Louisa. None of them will be worried about their books.
I'm absolutely gutted! I'm praying for a miracle please drop NHS pleaseeee
Second version up to #9 - so it's gained at least another 0.0200 since the last update. Wouldn't be surprised to see both versions top 5 - the camaign seems to be picking up a lot of steam.

A couple of people I know have cashed out - so taken the money now, ok I've got a bit less than if I'd waited but still almost 200 quid profit. Unless someone is with a bookie that doesn't offer cashing out, most people won't need to lose anything. Some people will want to hold out, and that's the risk you take with betting.

what bookies offer cashing out?

Looks like the status quo of X-Factor, charity and campaign singles topping the Christmas chart is set to continue unless JB's streams are at a record high.

I'm thinking it's more likely that they could beat Bieber now:

Amazon

NHS Choir - #1 & #2

Justin Bieber - #5 & #76

Google play

NHS Choir - #2 & #10

Justin Bieber - #3 & #18

The leads they have on those should further help the iTunes lead:

Combined/Weighted

NHS Choir 1.000

Justin Bieber 0.590

The lead's likely increased further with the second version at #9 now (Was #11 in the previous update).

Edit: Second version of NHS Choir now  to #8.

Paddypower don't offer cash out on 'Specials' I'm screwed now.

Please please please GO DARK RED CHOIRRRR -_-

Like I said, unless his streams are at a record high, it most probably is. Those of us who dismissed the NHS Choir (including myself) were sorely mistaken.

You're better off backing the NHS track with a bookie (11/4 is available at the moment) than cashing out. At least do the sums before you hit the cash-out button because they're generally not great value.
This new push for NHS Choir will at best have them gaining very slightly on Bieber in the mids. They still need a much bigger lead to have a chance of closing the lead he already has. The biggest download days of the week are already gone... I'm not saying it's impossible for them to still overtake but I think at this stage it's still very unlikely.
URGH just when you thought we were safe for one year without the x factor/charity/social media trolling of the chrimbo chart~ :nocheer:
it doesn't look like william hill offer cash out - do I place a bet on the NHS so I know I'll get at least something back? i'm new to this. ugh. :(

I know I'm in the minority here who really wants the NHS Choir to get the Christmas number one so I'm over the moon to see its gaining momentum on Love Yourself which we all know will climb back next week and stay there for the whole of January...unless Rihanna does drop her album on Christmas Day and a single or album track does well!
