February 22, 20169 yr I honestly think Hands To Myself is worse actually. I don't mind On My Mind, but it definitely isn't near her best and Don't (the song it is apparently a reply song to) is 1000x better. Those two Rihanna songs are hideous, especially FourFiveSeconds. I was so disappointed in both Paul and Rihanna :( And if Watch Me came on at a party I'd leave the building immediately for three minutes. Utter atrocity, that thing is.
February 22, 20169 yr Author Top 10 time! 10. NERVO Feat. Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears and Nile Rogers - The Other Boys N62Edu_WIhs Australian dance duo NERVO somehow managed to bag the dream team combination of Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears and Nile Rodgers to create this delicious poppers-o-clock dancefloor anthem. Naturally I love this, camp as a row of pink fluffy tents and pretty much soundtracked my summer. This did nothing chartwise, but I'm hoping it can have similar cult status to say, 'Let's Have A Kiki' in years to come.
February 22, 20169 yr Author 9. Jessie Ware - Champagne Kisses kIVHAhbKdcg So beautiful it makes me melt into runny honey, this sounded like a long lost soul classic with an alternative twist. Her vocals on this are so majestic, and in general. I saw her perform live last year and she was one of the best live acts I'd ever seen.
February 22, 20169 yr Author 8. Galantis - Peanut Butter Jelly 4jBDnYE1WjI Like French disco-house on acid, this is more than a shade bonkers and totally brilliant. I was delighted to see this becoming the big hit I knew it could be.
February 23, 20169 yr Author 7. Madonna - Ghosttown GgDxv0Qg_Rg Widely recognised as being Madonna's best song since the Confessions era (and I'm in 100% agreement), this is a beautiful ballad of love and hope which slipped completely under the radar in every territory as the second single from the Rebel Heart campaign.
February 23, 20169 yr Author 6. Rachel Platten - Stand By You bwB9EMpW8eY I don't care what anyone says, this is 1000000000 times better than 'Fight Song' and it's so unjust that it's done nothing in comparison.
April 30, 20169 yr Author Might as well FINALLY get this done! 5. Carly Rae Jepsen - Run Away With Me TeccAtqd5K8 Into the top 5 we go, and this is undeniable mammoth pop banger which it's fair to say has gained a quite sizeable cult status. I am fairly convinced that this could have been at least a top 20 hit for her had they not buggered the release of it up so epically.
April 30, 20169 yr Author 4. Foxes - Body Talk VAerYplzZUE "Should have been a smash" seems to be a recurring theme whenever I do my end of year countdowns, and I was truly gutted to see this bomb. :( Sadly nothing else on the album quite lived up to this greatness.
April 30, 20169 yr Author 3. Tove Lo - Talking Body AzRyxGBGiAE I was loving this and her album back in 2014, but it's fair to consider this a 2015 song. As sexy as it is funky, I never get bored of this. Can't wait to see what she has to offer in 2016.
April 30, 20169 yr Author 2. Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You qV5lzRHrGeg Carly places her highest on my end of year list to date, after 'Call Me Maybe' and 'Good Time' finished 3rd and 4th respectively in my 2012 list. This is ridiculously cheesy, but ridiculously feelgood and it defined my summer (and whole year, matter of fact). I'm honestly thankful for this song's existence, a much needed injection of something lighthearted into the chart.
April 30, 20169 yr Author 1. Years & Years - King http://i2.chroniclelive.co.uk/incoming/article9369191.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/JS65018614.jpg g_uoH6hJilc I debated long and hard, but ultimately this is too big to deny a rightful year end #1. Everything about this is perfect, and that rousing chorus knocks me for six every time. If they ever bettered this, I'd be very surprised. There we have it! Sorry my write ups for the top 5 have been so rubbish, but I'm hungover and can barely be arsed. :P
April 30, 20169 yr 100% agree on your number one. Run Away With Me and Body Talk really should have been big. Talking Body and I Really Like You are great aswell.
