So Una has officially quit The Saturdays, I have no doubt her solo career will bomb incredibly hard and if The Saturdays do decide to release solo music she will be the first person begging to come back. She's not going to do anything commercially and her voice is not good enough to succeed.

What are you talking about? In what world do you live in that The Saturdays are still together? And at the same time how do you realize that she's going solo now, when she already performed one of the songs on The Voice of Ireland months ago?

And what is this bitterness that makes you say that she will flop hard? Open your eyes, man: The Saturdays flop hard, Vanessa flops hard, everyone from this group is more likely to flop hard than not. But she wants to give it a shot with the music she's written because that's her passion.

You would think that following this group would teach you to respect other people and don't laugh at those acts who don't sell well, but man, some people just want to spread their hate.

Well The Saturdays are officially STILL together as they've announced on multiple occasions that they've not split whenever they're asked by news reporters?

How is it bitterness by me declaring that Una will "Flop Hard"? It's called realism. There's no way that radio stations will support Una. The only member that would get radio play is Mollie / Rochelle and possibly Frankie, the only thing that could help Una is Radio 2 but I doubt they will playlist her.

I think you've blown my comment out of proportion and while attempting to add 1+1 you got 6.

They must have a lot of confidence in the first single doing well if they want to release the album on the back of it.

But Una is the only one who got an established successful record label to back a full album campaign? Im sure flop Frankie would jump at the opportunity to release an album with a big record label like Decca instead of releasing some jewellery and flying to Australia to be on I'm a celeb get me out of here now

I think it's harsh to pin the splitting on Una, I think it's very likely they would just have been a Girls Aloud/One Direction situation by saying "we haven't split up" but it being unlikely they'll ever do anything again other than potentially a anniversary/charity single (e.g. Something New).

I think it's unfair to blame the split on any of them - given three of them are releasing music and one of them is quite a big name in the world of presenting, I wouldn't see how it's fair to pin blame on any of them.
Just noticed Kimberley Walsh was signed under Decca Records?

Oh dear  Tbf she was signed after there was a small bit of hype surrounding her after Strictly/GA reunion and they did get her a slot at the NTAS.

And her album was classical covers and completely non commercial. At least it reached the top 40

Dear Lord.

The Saturdays likely fulfilled their record contract with the Greatest Hits release and since that flopped said record company has no interest in working with them again and other record companies likely aren't interested in releasing The Saturdays material (at least at a price that would make it worth to split five ways). What they're doing is leaving the door open if someone would approach them with a favorable deal, but most likely they won't do anything together again bar the occasional gig (if it's paid well enough).

I was hoping for a bigger label but I'm still happy with this nonetheless. I'm excited for the first single and hope her material isn't too folk or country.

The Saturdays being on hiatus and pursuing solo careers is nothing new. I am actually very confident that they will come back together again -- we just don't know when or to what extent. I don't think they would keep harping on it if that wasn't their intention. I'm sure they, just like we, realize that all of that is contingent on their schedules and how much success they experience with their solo careers.

I think the girls will genuinely want to reunite at some point and agree that the only thing standing in the way would be lack of support and public interest. It would be ideal if at least one of them (money's on Mollie here) managed a high profile solo career so that there would be renewed interest in the group. If Mollie does even half decently with Island they might be willing to sign the Sats up the road.

If one of them gets a high profile, then it's finito for the five of them.

No way a girl that's earning a lot of £££ to give it up to re-join a flop girl group. All of them need to flop so horribly that the only option seems to be The Saturdays.

That might be true, but I think they'd get back together if given the chance and the label backing.

Why are you so eager to believe blindly that they are still somehow an active group despite many facts pointing to the contrary, but you rush in to say that Una has "officially" left based only on your imagination? Why do you need to single Una out when she isn't even the first one to publish solo music? Vanessa has already gone solo, Rochelle has even left Fascination and got a new management for her own.

Damn, just blame all of them. The five of them dissolved their own company and divided the money.

You talk about realism and then you make up a scenario when one of them has to beg to come back to The Saturdays (of all groups) for money...open your eyes, none of them will sell music unless there's a major surprise. Not solo, not in a group.

It's just bizarre how a Saturdays fan can attack any of the girls so viciously for not selling, when we have lived through more flops than hits through their history. How can someone not understand at this point that there are more reasons to release music other than making big sums of money? That small releases paired with other endeavours can also be profitable? That a passion of music can make up for the lack of success?

You can always rely on The Saturdays artist forum to deliver that OTT fan fight realness...

Anyway. Looking forward to this. Una better bring that Sheryl Crow / early Corrs vibes with her solo stuff (as I fully expect she will)...

It's sort of giving me Nicola's Lucky Day vibes, lmao. :kink:

OMG YES!

Sorry Una need to sing pop songs, she gave songs like Get Ready, Get Set, Move On U and The Way You Watch Me life.
