Two incredible but underrated (commercially speaking) R'n'B artists in this section - Miguel and Ciara  Both have songs still to come here. Their recent albums ('Wildheart' and 'Jackie' respectively) were two of the best albums of 2015, and well worth checking out if you haven't already done so (you should have x).

The first of four Justin Bieber songs makes it to 124th place - 'Love Yourself'. This has taken a few weeks to really hit me, so I wouldn't be surprised if you see this song within my Top 100 of 2016!

-- 100 - #12 - 174 points - Janet Jackson featuring J. Cole - No Sleeep

Starting off my Top 100 is Janet's 'No Sleeep'! Lovely & smooth. However I do feel that the wonderful 'Unbreakable' album has a number of superior songs, ones which may have brought more attention to her comeback. 'BURNITUP!' in particular was screaming for a proper release. :snif: INCOMINNNNNG.

Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' has been entering my chart every Christmas since 2005 (the year I started compiling charts), and 2015 was a particularly successful year for it - reaching #2, its highest position since 2007! It peaked at #1 in 2005. Over 11 Christmases it has racked up 1591 points, making it the 8th most successful song in my chart's history. It's also the song with the greatest longevity, now spending 55 weeks within my Top 40 - the previous best was 53 weeks for Girls Aloud's 'Something Kinda Ooooh'. It probably goes without saying that 'AIWFCIY' is my favourite Christmas song, and indeed one of my favourite songs of all time. <3

The lack of success for 'American Oxygen' in worldwide charts contributed to bringing Rihanna's 'Anti' era to an abrupt pause (undeservedly so, it's a good song!!). We've yet to see (and indeed, hear) her next move. In the words of Cher...

Omi's summer smash 'Cheerleader' (mixed by Felix Jaehn) is the highest placed non-Top 10 hit in my count down. It only peaked at #15, but hovered around the Top 30 section of my chart for three months. A couple of other non-Top 10 hits also feature in this section - the divisive 'Marvin Gaye' by Charlie Puth feat. Meghan Trainor (which I hear is one of Bal's favourite songs of all time :o) and James Bay's 'Hold Back The River' (a #LongHairDontCareJosephFave™). Both peaked at #13.

'Only Human' was Cheryl's only single released in 2015, and it really bombed in the UK. :snif: The ballad peaked at #70 as an instant grat in 2014, but could only manage to re-enter the chart at #107 when it became a proper single. It performed considerably better in my chart, peaking at #2. Cheryl has never charted lower than #3, as a solo artist or as part of Girls Aloud!

I used 'Treat Me Like Fire' by Lion Babe as one of my BJSC entries, and it did pretty well, coming 8th in the April 2015 contest. *.* In my chart it peaked at #4, and stayed in my Top 10 for 5 weeks. I love its soulful & laid-back vibe. :music: I can't wait for their album, expected to be released next month!

One of the surprise hits of 2015 for me was a BJSC entry - but not my own! Paulini - 'Air It All Out' (7th Heaven Remix) was entered by FARC, and I loved it enough for it to reach #1 in my personal chart. :o Tune! *.* However, another BJSC hit - Grace's 'You Don't Own Me', entered by Unovia - ended up becoming a bigger success. Originally peaking at #15 back in May, it went on to become a #1 hit in December.

YES at there being another lover for "Five More Hours" and "Marvin Gaye"

James Blegh can go tho

omg so much goodness in that section *.* Grace, Pia Mia, Iggy, Mariah, Zara, Cheryl and James Slay in particular

I know I'm zooming through my Top 200, but I haven't got the patience to do it in smaller chunks! :drama: I have to admire those of you who are doing such in-depth commentary for each song included in your threads. ;o I will try my best to write a bit more... :D

We're firmly into "Top 5 hits" territory at this point, and kicking things off at #50 is 'Sugar' by Maroon 5. They really seem to irk a hell of a lot of BuzzJack members, but I can honestly say they've not released anything that has truly offended me. I would say that overall, I "quite like" Maroon 5. ^.^ 'Sugar' didn't do anything to appease "the haters" ( :kink: ) but I actually find it to be one of their more enjoyable songs. In fact it became their highest peaking single in my chart since 2007's 'If I Never See Your Face Again', which also made it to #4.

Tinashe scored her first ever #1 in my chart in 2015, with a helping hand from Chris Brown, on 'Player'. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that 2016 is Tinashe's year. It may have impressed me, but 'Player' was not the single to make her break-through commercially, as it missed the US Billboard Hot 100 altogether, and managed a mere #85 in the UK. Boo!

'FourFiveSeconds' by Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney... I loathed this song at first! I didn't even enter it in my weekly Top 40 in the week it premiered. When I did enter it, it was at a lowly #37 - far below Rihanna's usual standards. It just wasn't what I was expecting at all, so it caught me off-guard & I found it somewhat jarring. However, gradually it presented itself to me as being quite the earworm, and it eventually clawed its way up to a peak of #4... and has wound up being one of my Top 40 best performing songs of the year, despite the initial dislike. G'won RiRi & co. x

Two consecutive #1 singles by One Direction also end up together in my EOY, with 'Drag Me Down' at #31 and 'Perfect' at #30! 1D had only achieved one #1 single in my chart prior to these ('One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)' - a bit of a random choice, I know~). Although I love these two singles, unfortunately the album they're taken from - 'Made In The A.M.' - I found to be a bit disappointing... not a patch on 'FOUR' or 'Midnight Memories'. :( Maybe I need to give it more of a chance? Joseph? :heehee:

Years & Years - Shine and Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea - 'Pretty Girls' achieved the same peak (#2) and scored the same number of chart points (411), however I've placed Y&Y ahead because they spent a total of 15 weeks in my Top 40 chart, compared to Britney's 11. 'Pretty Girls' attracted a lot of criticism from her fanbase; generally comments about it not being a good enough song... but I really liked it, evidently. :heehee: It spent 3 weeks at #2, initially behind Galantis' 'Runaway (U & I)', and then Miguel's 'Coffee'. I much prefer these two songs to 'Pretty Girls', so it was the right call for it not to squeeze a week at #1. // 'Shine' is Years & Years' highest peaking single to date, but 'King' out-performed it in terms of weeks in the chart, and points... and it's still to come in my countdown!

'I Bet' by Ciara is one of the longest running hits of 2015, spending an impressive 21 weeks inside my Top 40 - the sixth longest stay of the year! Ciara is frustratingly underrated, and it was sadly no surprise that 'I Bet' didn't do much commercially, stalling at #56 in the UK. She deserved so much better than that! :snif: Likewise, its parent album 'Jackie' failed to create much impact anywhere in the world, its highest peak being #17 in the US.

WORTH IT :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

"Sugar" is one of those songs that's good at first but then the radio spams it endlessly and you just want to cut your ears off. Then all the hype dies down and it becomes somewhat tolerable again. This is becoming a tired pattern for Maroon 5.
