The government of Persephonia has decided to, in a move that we entirely pioneered and aren't just copying from the current New Zealand referendum for shits n giggles, hold a referendum on possibly changing the national flag.

Flag the fourth has served us well but is it time for a new generation of Persephonian vexillology? We asked people to submit their flag designs and they came in by the ones and have been cut down to a shortlist of 5 possible designs (originally 4 but a 5th was added by popular demand after 3 of the other 4 were fairly similar).

 

Common themes in the flags are the red, blue and green 3-heart insignia that represents Persephonia's recent close relationship with Jadakissnia and our pre-existing national symbol the Decastar, representing the national unity of the country's 5 states (or 6 now but we don't really talk about the Persephonian East Allecian State, as there continues to be ongoing famine and a war in the south with New Lexico over the disputed city of Ghlágh). Also present in design 4 is a depiction of Aubrey Drake Graham, one of the founding fathers of Persephonia. B-)

This is a democratic process which all other nations are entitled to vote in! (And if you lot are no fun and fail to endulge me and this thread spectacularly flops I'll just decide myself :nocheer:)

 

In stage 1 of the referendum - in this thread - I ask of people to rank the 5 above options from their favourite to least favourite (you may leave out any that you hate entirely). The winner of stage 1 will be decided by the Alternative Vote method which I won't explain again cos I was bad at it the last time but instead will leave you in the capable hands of CGP Grey who explains with more clarity if anyone is interested:

 

 

After an amount of time I've not yet decided - unless there are barely any responses in here - stage 2 will take place in which the winner of stage 1 will be pitted against our current flag and you will all vote on whether I should actually change it or not. Because this is serious business! :o

I like option 3, though it would be cooler if the stars replaced the top right and bottom left cos it would make quite a nice pattern with the stars and hearts (though you may not then have all three coloured hearts, so depends what's more important~), that or option 5 lol.
