Jackson quits Gut label

Source: Music Week

Michael Jackson’s working relationship with Gut Records chairman Guy Holmes appears to be over, according to reports.

It was announced earlier this year that Holmes had hooked up with Jackson after the superstar signed a deal with Bahrain-based label Two Seas, being run by the Gut man and Prince Abdulla Hamad Alkhalifa. It was expected to handle the release of a new Jackson album.

However, Jackson’s publicist Raymone Bain has issued a press release saying the singer is no longer part of the company and has formed a new holding company called Michael Jackson Company Inc to look after his business interests. It ahs been further reported that Jackson has teamed up with producer Teddy Riley who worked with him on his 1991 album Dangerous.

At the time of Holmes’ tie-up with Jackson being announced in April, a release date for a new album was earmarked for late 2007. Holmes said at the time, "We need to decide how and precisely when we put the album out. We will be talking to major mobile companies and music companies around the world. "We are going to look at all the different opportunities which are open to us. The world is a very different place today. This is going to be a totally multi-media project, perhaps bigger than any multi-media campaign that has been put together before."

Holmes says he cannot comment on Michael Jackson’s “behaviour†following reports about Jackson exiting Two Seas.
