That trailer is amazing  I am worried they spend too long on the broom ride from Privet Drive to Grimmauld Place though, did you see all the London backgrounds??

Still, this is my second fave book so hopefully they'll do it justice.

Wanted to bump this!

3 Months to go!

- Apparntly, Gilderoy Lockhart, Rita Skeeter & Dobby will not appear in the upcomming film

Oh and they've got rid of Quidditch :(

Same,

but Quidditch is important, it's one of the reasons why Hermione and Ron fall out in the 6th book, I think :P

thats true but then again, the 5th book is so long and there is much more important stuff to cover then quidditch

Well as long as they get the last scene PERFECT then I shall be happy :D

Tbh I read that the producers and that where worrying about the length of the film and that, but tbh I couldn't care less if the last scene was an hour long  Just as long as it isn't 10 minutes :arrr:

no not 10 mins to short...id say at least 30 mins to get it to look good

Harry Potter and the orfer of the Phoenix

I only watched it half way through as staff at cineworld evacuated the building due to a fire scare and it's been closed down for the day  It was c**p up till then and I won't watch the 2nd half of it.

The first hour was good, then I just found myself getting increasing BORED AND AGITATED.

Mind due I've never really been a MASSIVE FAN.

I'm really shocked some people got bored. I expected some people to think the last scene wasn't amazing as it should have been and the ending was a little abrupt, but the 2 1/2 hours flew over for me, especially compared to the snooze-fest of Pirates of the Carribean, which felt like it was twice the length it was to me.

didnt bore me and im someone who gets bored easy.

btw do you think Luna also goes to band camp in the summer

Its awful IMO.

They hack the book to pieces, so that kinda gives the overall impression that it's pretty dire... Frankly, I dont care if a film has to last four hours in order for it to do a story justice (didn't seem to bother Peter Jackson or the hundreds of millions of people who went to see LOTR at the cinema and bought the extended DVD editions...), and considering that the average Harry Potter fan can happily sit and read one of the books for seven or eight hours in one go, the old excuse of "oh, it would make the film too long to do it properly..." is just that - an excuse.... It's more to do with cinema chains wanting to do more screenings in a day than actually getting the story right no matter what the length...

The Harry Potter adaptions started out really well, the first three films are all excellent, now, they're just getting rather fukkin' lazy IMO..... <_< At least if there had been an LOTR style extended DVD editions of both Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix, I could forgive the plot and storyline omissions for the cinema versions of these films....

The movie is terrible in my opinion. I was really looking forward to it considering that I loved the previous 4 films, but this one is the worst by quite a margin. :(

I have to agree with that.

I'd go along with that as well Kelz, but I really do believe that it's bad mainly because of the way they've adapted the book to the screen and all the stuff that's been left out... Like I said, the average kid can sit and read an HP book for hours on end, I somehow doubt they'd object to a three-and-a-half or even four hour film.... They could have a 10/15 minute intermission for bathroom breaks.... I dont even think they're gonna do an LOTR-style "extended" DVD edition for this are they...?

Certainly not, and yeah I know what you mean about the adaptation, it wasn't really done all that well was it? I think quite a few scenes could have been a bit more detailed and a little more elongated to coincide with the book. Did I read correctly that JK does play a part in these films, i'm not too familiar with titles and all that jazz but is she like executive producer or something? I could have sworn I read she was heavily involved in the process. If I was her I would be quite annoyed at how they had butchered my book, then again i'm sure it's all about the £££ for good ol' JK nowadays.
