August 12, 200717 yr Certainly not, and yeah I know what you mean about the adaptation, it wasn't really done all that well was it? I think quite a few scenes could have been a bit more detailed and a little more elongated to coincide with the book. Did I read correctly that JK does play a part in these films, i'm not too familiar with titles and all that jazz but is she like executive producer or something? I could have sworn I read she was heavily involved in the process. If I was her I would be quite annoyed at how they had butchered my book, then again i'm sure it's all about the £££ for good ol' JK nowadays. Frankly, I dont think she gives a toss as long as she's making loads of dosh... Quite a contrast to Tolkien's estate who basically waited YEARS for the right people to come along who would show LOTR the respect and reverence those books are due, and they certainly got that in the marvellous Peter Jackson and his team of genuine artists (who, most importantly are themselves FANS of Tolkien's work..) who brought Tolkien's vision to spectacular, breathtaking life and creating the epic, cinematic masterpiece of our generation.. Mind you, not that you can in any way compare Rowling to Tolkien in terms of literature can you....?
August 12, 200717 yr She's certainally not an Exec. Producer ... they'd have to pay her far too much to make it worth their while for that. I believe she's a consultant or something?
