March 23, 20169 yr Hi guys, could we please keep the arguing to a minimum? Everyone is allowed an opinion :)
March 23, 20169 yr Look harder: And yes, let's take everything on face value because Kesha looked like she was forced into working with Dr Luke, didn't she. We look at the rest of the post And I'm sorry to say it, and I kind of expect to get hate for this so I apologise in a way, but I think it comes down to the fact she's not good looking He didn't mean it with negative intentions he was clearly trying to explain why the video doesn't work
March 23, 20169 yr One person in a thread of 5 pages. It's hardly a witch hunt. Why do you insist on bringing other artists into the conversation? Kesha has nothing to do with this.
March 23, 20169 yr One person in a thread of 5 pages. It's hardly a witch hunt. Why do you insist on bringing other artists into the conversation? Kesha has nothing to do with this. Nobody mentioned it was a witch hunt, I was advising of my dislike of that particular post. Well, Meghan Trainor doesn't have an exclusive pass to opt out of record label politics.. she's part of that. What I was suggesting, as Lotti suggested, was that because she seemed happy to be there doesn't mean that she actually is.. and Kesha is a prime example of that. Edited March 23, 20169 yr by Scherz
March 23, 20169 yr Look harder: So one person then. A meaningful amount of people to have a "why are you all such misogynists?" fit over.
March 23, 20169 yr So one person then. A meaningful amount of people to have a "why are you all such misogynists?" fit over. Yes, one is more than none. And I had attempted to disregard your post but since you're insistent on getting a reply, I will say this: You believe that because men aren't objectified as much as women in music and the music videos they create, you are okay with the fact that it does happen to women? You are correct, not all 'men wouldn't have to do this' arguments are valid. But this one is. Just because it's not expected of overweight men, doesn't mean it's okay to expect it of women because it's the 'norm'. As I said, everyone is entitled to their opinion and you can think what you like.. It won't affect my opinion or her success in any way. My issue was that I couldn't see the fuss that was being made over her 'tragic' and 'awkward' performance in this video. And that she doesn't deserve to be berated for her attempts. Why shouldn't she try to act sexy? Even if you don't think that she is. So what if it makes you uncomfortable. Good on her for trying.
March 23, 20169 yr I didn't mention weight anywhere  There's a lot of reaching here, nothing I said infers I'm a feminist, misogynist or any of that far-fetched crap. If to be a feminist, you aren't allowed to infer that people aren't good looking, then there's clearly a problem. She is allowed to writhe around all she wants but if looking at her makes for uncomfortable viewing, then that is the reality of that case. Do you really think the majority of the public watch a music video and consider the record label's intention? Of course they bloody don't. I'm not judging the politics of a record label, I'm judging a video. She lacks star quality, she lacks sex appeal and I believe a fair amount of this comes down to the fact she isn't particularly sexy or attractive, so it's hard to buy it. That's the simplicity of the matter, she can do what she wants but I don't have to enjoy it or applaud it or pretend it looks good when it doesn't.
March 23, 20169 yr Hi guys, could we please keep the arguing to a minimum? Everyone is allowed an opinion :) Without argument, there would be no point of a discussion forum. Also - it makes for more interesting reading.
March 23, 20169 yr Seriously guys is Meghan Trainor really worth getting this worked up over? No  Also Griff and Robot are right.
March 23, 20169 yr As I said, everyone is entitled to their opinion and you can think what you like Well of course, but you were the one that called everyone "f***ing disgusting" which isn't really the attitude of a tolerant person who respects that people do have differing opinions...
March 23, 20169 yr Well of course, but you were the one that called everyone "f***ing disgusting" which isn't really the attitude of a tolerant person who respects that people do have differing opinions... I didn't call anyone f-ing disgusting. I would never.. I don't know any of you. I said the thread was, based on what I'd read.
March 25, 20169 yr Well it's looking likely that 'No' will be the billboard number one either this week or next week! It's got a 20% lead on iTunes as well as rapidly increasing on airplay , streaming and Youtube views. I'm surprised to see this being such a success, I knew it would do well but I wouldn't think it would be as huge as it's going to be! She's not even began promotion yet! Looking likely for another MASSIVE campaign from Meghan.
March 25, 20169 yr I don't even think the video is THAT bad  It could just be choreographed better and I do think that the whole sexy thing could be toned down a bit. Like, the red dress is ok but the basement bit with all the back-up dancers is quite off-putting. She's not hideously ugly but she's not Selena Gomez and she shouldn't try the whole sexy thing for the sake of it. It just doesn't work and more importantly isn't her at all, the video would work more if it suited her personality better. Plus she just isn't that good of a dancer which you'd need to be to pull this off. Most importantly though the song is a bop and a half and I am so here for it.
March 27, 20169 yr This is probably her best song for me IMO . It's so catchy and throwback to the early 200s . However I really don't like the video it doesn't suit the song at all and she looks really uncomfortable throughout of it . I think the video should have been more tounge and check and had sort of a comedy, funny vibe to it .
March 27, 20169 yr RVQ3giqlsHA Can we just?! *.*Absolutely adore this mash up! The two go together so well!

Selena Gomez looks like an 11 year old girl a d her attempts of being sexy are weird and really forced. And that's coming from a huge Selena fan.
