Make Me... (feat. G-Eazy)

I'm not usually the first person to jump to doomsaying, but for the last week or so of the song's life it's been very "This isn't great, but it's not bad, and that's actually good!". In particular I think we've all been banking on an excellent video being the catalyst for the song's explosion. At this stage it's unlikely that a video is going to come soon, and it's similarly unlikely that the video will spark interest in the song, so it's starting to be difficult to see what makes this a hit.

The song is living entirely off of airplay and its current amount of airplay isn't even enough to keep it top 40 on iTunes. With said amount of airplay dropping... what can save the song now? I can't see the video doing it. I know it's not fun to be prophecising doom and it's not that big a deal or anything (just give me the album), but I think it's time we started looking at this song ending up being a hit as a potential nice surprise.

A racy video would have actually made it interesting.. It would have got people talking.

Why are her team so intent on keeping this wholesome image for her? She has no 'young' fans that she needs to be a role model for. They need to realise who her fanbase is.. She literally has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I just don't get that given how sexualised the Piece of Me show is, and her medley at the Billboard awards. There's a point where everything goes too far but honestly I thought hyper-sexual was the THEME of this album.

I'd rather have my kids see me being an overtly sexual successful popstar than anything that happened that year :lol:

Yeah but there was some raunchy shit she recorded for 'Make Me' originally.

Nothing to do with dancing provocatively or showing skin. Some other visuals LaChapelle wanted in the video.

Also an announcement is coming Monday. So, I'm almost positive video is coming out August 5th.

I do think the song did well to hold up the way it did without a video. It held up much better than Pretty Girls. But the radio airplay just isn't quite strong enough to keep it afloat now. I feel like could have been last chance saloon for the song to really get a good boost.
