February 14, 20169 yr Sadness and Joy slaying  That sewer scene was SO intense. Me and my friends were all holding each other in the cinema :o Yet again, The Martian
February 14, 20169 yr Author BEST PICTURE NOMINEE #7- INSIDE OUT http://i68.tinypic.com/15nsrdf.jpg Nominees So Far: - Big Hero 6 - Brooklyn - Inside Out - Kingsman: The Secret Service - Mad Max: Fury Road - Room - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 No surprise here, well deserved nomination! (Hint it is an obvious nominee) Then it will be supporting actor, BP nominee #9, Best Actress, Best Actor, BP nominee #10 and #11 so hype please
February 14, 20169 yr Author BEST PICTURE NOMINEE #8- STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS http://i63.tinypic.com/tasmyw.jpg Nominees So Far: - Big Hero 6 - Brooklyn - Inside Out - Kingsman: The Secret Service - Mad Max: Fury Road - Room - Star Wars: The Force Awakens - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 Obvious nomination, well deserved again though! Next up is Supporting Actor with 6 nominations, predictions?!
February 14, 20169 yr Pitch Perfect 2 was winning ensemble for ages so shame to see it just miss because everyone does do their bit, can't deny those nominees though! Yay for Room, the escape scene was so intense even though I knew the outcome already, such a good scene. The QVC scene in Joy was excellent too, Lawrence went through so many emotions in that moment. It's probably my favourite Best Pic nominee too although it's hard to compare to stuff like Star Wars. The police scene in SOC was great too, it summed up all the struggles they had to go through. Good voice performances there, Sharlto Copley made Chappie sound so cute and innocent and I loved Lupita Nyong'o as tr kooky Maz too, she really deserved more screentime. Finally Baymax yay, sort of shocked too as it felt like last year but he's so cute and by far my favourite of the nominees.
February 14, 20169 yr Author BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR http://i65.tinypic.com/34igriv.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/2hr2u87.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/33xyh4l.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/xf70ad.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/15z5s3k.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/efowm8.jpg Mark Rylance- Bridge Of Spies Emory Cohen- Brooklyn Sylvester Stallone- Creed Mark Ruffalo- Spotlight Jason Statham- Spy Steve Carell- The Big Short All 5 of my nominations getting in here as well (everyone but Carell) Only 2nd category that has happened in along with Supporting Actress! Jason is a standout of Spy, great to see Creed finally get a nomination here (should be doing better :( ) and Emory getting in for Brooklyn is terrific
February 14, 20169 yr Emory Cohen deserved more nominations in the real life awards, not a flashy performance but he did such a good job that it sort of madr the second half pointless because why would she stay in Ireland when she has such a nice guy back in America. I've said that loads before about Brooklyn but it's true and a lot of that is down to his performance. I think Mark Ruffalo is my favourite of the lot though, he really became the character looking at videos of the real Rezendes and his mini rant was excellently acted!
February 14, 20169 yr Author BEST PICTURE NOMINEE #9- SPY http://i67.tinypic.com/egy1y8.jpg Nominees So Far: - Big Hero 6 - Brooklyn - Inside Out - Kingsman: The Secret Service - Mad Max: Fury Road - Room - Spy - Star Wars: The Force Awakens - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 Gigantic YESSSS at this getting in :cheer: :cheer: Absolutely adored Spy and it is such a laugh out loud fantastic comedy, glad it has dominated so much   Who are the final 2 spots going to? Predict and then I'll reveal them!
February 14, 20169 yr Author BEST ACTRESS http://i68.tinypic.com/1g39kk.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/2uqem1w.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/t0pzf9.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/347xlps.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/fasvft.jpg Saoirse Ronan- Brooklyn Cate Blanchett- Carol Jennifer Lawrence- Joy Charlize Theron- Mad Max: Fury Road Brie Larson- Room Absolute runaway top 5! Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl) and Jennifer Lawrence (Mockingjay Part 2) were the only 2 anywhere near close to these 5, and the former is nominated for the same film in supporting and the latter has a nomination here for a different movie anyway! Anyway great final 5, Ronan and Lawrence especially
February 14, 20169 yr Spy was hilarious, was a bit worried at Trainwreck stealing some of the limelight on this site but the best one pulled through, such a good mash up of comedy and action with such good jokes and cast. Great female acting performances there, don't think I'd have picked Charlize Theron because she didn't do loads apart from be cool but the other four are excellent. When I was doing my five, I was shocked that I had to leave Saoirse Ronan out but glad she made it here anyway. Cate Blanchett was getting no votes for ages apart from me but glad they voters all pulled through at the end, she was so enchanting!
February 14, 20169 yr Author BEST ACTOR http://i64.tinypic.com/33coqop.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/2ypnm02.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/snyrkl.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/xds4nb.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/vfzgc3.jpg Jacob Tremblay- Room Eddie Redmayne- The Danish Girl Michael Fassbender- Steve Jobs Leonardo Di Caprio- The Revenant Matt Damon- The Martian Jacob getting in *.* Again 4/5 of the official Oscar nominees with Jacob in and Bryan out! The Two Final Best Picture nominees coming up very soon, please a couple of predictions then I'll post as interested to see what people think will complete the line-up! Then we're done after those 2 nominees and I'll open the voting thread!
February 14, 20169 yr Jacob Tremblay really deserved a nomination this year so yay Buzzjack. Was worried that Eddie Redmayne didn't get mant votes for a while because he's so good in this, every mouth twitch and eyelid flutter was thought out, was shocked at how many vocal haters of it there are online. Johnny Depp should have made it in though... Edited February 14, 20169 yr by •Josh•
February 14, 20169 yr Author BEST PICTURE NOMINEE #10- AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON http://i68.tinypic.com/x1c4ud.jpg Nominees So Far: - Avengers: Age Of Ultron - Big Hero 6 - Brooklyn - Inside Out - Kingsman: The Secret Service - Mad Max: Fury Road - Room - Spy - Star Wars: The Force Awakens - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 How did this get in??? One more nomination, the likes of Trainwreck, Joy, The Martian, Carol and Ex_Machina still missing! Who's got in? If one person predicts, I'll reveal the movie :)
February 14, 20169 yr Disappointed that Stallone got in but Michael B. Jordan didn't. #BuzzjackSoWhite Especially with Eddie Redmayne for the milquetoast Danish Girl still around. And what the hell is with all the love for Kingsman? What a diabolically awful film. Enough negativity, though - the love for Inside Out and Jacob Tremblay is great, and for Spy (even if I don't think I nominated it outside of Rose Byrne and Comedy). Excellent Actress line-up (despite her comments, Rampling is still my top pick but I'm not surprised she didn't make it here), and some really solid choices for Scene (which I didn't nominate in) - Room and SOC especially. 👏 for y'all there. Weird to see so much Big Hero 6, but only because I think of it as 2014! Would have included it for Animated had I realised it was eligible.
February 14, 20169 yr Avengers was excellent, such good visuals and not a dull moment. Not sure why 90% of the Internet hate it for not being dark enough, not sure what they were expecting but it was so much fun to watch and I thought Ultron was quite an interesting villain due to his power set.
