Yes, it was quite a dismal showing by them. :(

They've won seven times, the most anyone has, but just recently they've gone downhill. Eastern Europe is dominating atm. :arrr: Does it not get shown in USA at all? :o

Me either, but I don't watch much TV. Your sig is really scandalous, David. :kink:

Ahhh, now I totally understand why you had a headache. -_- It's not fair that men don't have them.

I just found out that I won the grand prize for my school's art competition! :yahoo: I am ashamed to confess I only entered for the money, $300. :P

The theme was about how America is made up of immigrants, so I did a four part painting, with some African-American slaves, some Irish children around the time of the potato famine, a ship in a harbor, and some letters from immigrants to families. I didn't think I'd win, since I usually have exceptionally bad luck in such things, but I did. B)

It's amazing the parallels between the Irish immigration movement and the people immigrating from Mexico now. :o The Irish did all the menial labor, such as construction, farm hands, washer-women, maids, mining, etc., and most of them did not have legal citizenship, yet they made a great contribution to America. People would put up signs like "Now hiring, no Irish need apply", and there was even a political party devoted to stopping Irish immigration. It was as controversial as the Mexican immigration now.

There are thousands of Lithuanians in Ireland now too. Well done on winning the competition too Grace! :D I hope you'll go out and blow all the money now. B) That's what I usually do anyway. :( I haven't spent anything for ages and money keeps pouring into my bank so I'll have to go on a spending spree soon.

Oh, and I do still get headaches, despite not having to release an egg every month! :(

Congratulations on your win, Grace..I wish I had that money right now. I've heard the story about Ireland, the Irish had rough times, sadly..hey, if it were my business, I would have a sign that says "Irish people PLEASE apply" ;)

Thanks guys! :D I wish I could blow it, but I should probably save it, what with college coming up and all that rubbish. Ooh, money pouring into a bank account is a very nice thing, David. B) I need to open one myself, I just haven't gotten around to it. ^_^

Oh yes, "Irish please apply, especially Irish MEN!"

Yeah I started working on a Saturday recently, and some of us get paid for going to school here if we carry on after we're 16.

I've never heard of such a thing! :o If I don't do my school, I get in trouble. If do my school, I don't get in trouble. Maybe I should move to England. :w00t:

We had an ant invasion earlier. :o They started building a nest under our radiator. We soon got rid of them though. Very intelligent creatures, ants.

It's called Education Maintenance Allowance, and you only get it if you stay on doing education after you're 16. You get it according to how much the other people in your household earn. :funky: And because I only live with my mum, I get quite a bit. ^_^

in the Eurovision I voted for Verka and Scooch as well still they didn't get any points from Hungary

(Just to do a post also in this thread) :cheer:

Yeah but it was fun! And I don't think Serbia was better. It was good but not a winning song. :P
