February 17, 20169 yr ...and that's probably the reason why you don't get it like some others do :P okay, so you challenged me and i am glad you did - i've been giving the album another few spins tonight and i am happy to admit i'm now won over. apart from 'favourite colour' and 'warm blood' (which is way too try-hard for me and just becky hill's 'losing' without good vocals) i am actually really enjoying every song on the album. it is much much more melodic than i remember it being, i definitely should have given it a far more of a fair chance the first time round. it must have been the claims of it being the best pop album of all time that made me have a downer on it. how the hell is 'i didn't just come here to dance' only a bonus track though? along with RAWM and AT it is definitely the other big standout and it is a gay club dj's dream.

YES, another convert. Welcome. IDJCHD is crazy-good. It would have been a great 5th or 6th single choice for a Taylor Swift-length era. If she was super successful and could just keep rolling out the singles I'd have gone with: 1) IRLY 2) RAWM 3) Your Type 4) When I Needed You 5) Warm Blood or All That 6) IDJCHTD
February 17, 20169 yr Warm Blood is the most sublime track on the album though :P I really don't want to vote. I stan for Taylor more overall, and 1989 may have higher highs (I really don't know), but I think Carly may have produced the more consistent album. Taking the standard tracklistings, "Welcome To New York" is definitely my least favourite song across both and "Bad Blood"/"Shake It Off" may not line up favourably either (though over-play does come into it which sadly Carly doesn't have and I only hear her tracks through choice for the most part).
February 18, 20169 yr Love Both but I havent listened to 1989 in full You should tbh :P (doesn't help that she hates Spotify though, but most tracks should be on Vimeo!)
February 18, 20169 yr Author I actually expected Taylor to landslide this, considering she has such a following on Buzzjack and people generally would be more likely know the album. So I'm pleasantly surprised with this outcome.
February 24, 20169 yr I went with EMOTION as well. Just because as amazing as 1989 is, the highs on Emotion are higher for me! Boy Problems, and Run Away With Me are better than any of the songs on 1989 imo, and both are solid consistent albums, that don't really have any filler tracks. Emotions deserved way more recognised success than t actually recieved <_<
February 26, 20169 yr E•MO•TION by far. The whole album is absolutely divine. 1989 is good but not quite up to scratch.
