7. Name a shock best picture winner that won in this millennium.

http://i64.tinypic.com/2ngcvap.jpg

Bloodbath time *.* Well done Chez and Lotti for the only 2 pointless answers! I was still convinced Boyhood was going to win on the actual night of the Oscars but Birdman ended up winning, a shame considering Boyhood is way better. I was also sure No Country For Old Men was a wrong answer, but this has turned out to be an excellent guess from Lotti as I checked the main precursors and found out it lost both the Golden Globes and the BAFTA’s which in my view counts as a shock win! The Hurt Locker wasn’t too much of a shock but was still quite a shock as the winning prediction was always bouncing backwards and forth between that and Avatar, so that scores you 2 points if you went for that! You might as well have just taken a guess at something not too surprising but not wrong than go for Crash in the end! Crash scores a massive 7 points with 8 people choosing the worst best picture winner of all time as the shock winner. Brokeback Mountain was heavily expected to win and there was a lot of anger and fury as Crash shockingly scooped the top prize. Which is a shame considering Crash is an utter pile of awful trash. The ones in blue are answers I wouldn’t really accept, but they aren’t completely wrong so I feel bad about giving them 21 points, there is 1 more case of this in a couple of questions! The Artist, Argo and Slumdog Millionaire were all kind of sure bets towards the end but there was strong competition at some point! They also all did well at the precursors, but I’m pretty sure one of them didn’t win the Golden Globe!
And now the wrong answers: Shakespeare In Love is a shock winner but isn’t from this millennium, as much as Frozen deserved to win, the Academy didn’t agree and it wasn’t even nominated. The Revenant may be a correct answer in a couple of weeks but isn’t right yet as the winner of Best Picture hasn’t been revealed! And Bre trolls again. Though Alvin And The Chipmunks 2 should have won *.* Not even gonna lie its in my favourite 20 films of all time and I’ve seen it like 300 times  The 4th entry, Road Chip, is in cinemas now!

POINTLESS: 0: Birdman- Chez Wombat
0: No Country For Old Men- Lotti

2: The Hurt Locker- Richie, Jahq, Jonjo
7: Crash- Ultraviolence1989, Regina, Joe, Alex!, NotFurlong, HarryEzra, Jade, Mack

10: The Artist- Acidburn, Haus
10: Argo- Josh
10: Slumdog Millionaire- Oliver

21: Frozen- Dobbo
21: Shakespeare In Love- Burbe
21: Alvin And The Chipmunks 2- Bre
21: The Revenant- Dan
Hmm I would say persoanlly Argo is a shock winner too I didnt expect it looking at the list...its more shocker than Birdman

Not to DISCREDIT Lotti but in my opinion No Country For Old Men totally wasn't unexpected and the only shock was it not cleaning up the Golden Globes and BAFTAs too because it's an absolute powerhouse of a film :o

The Artist was shocking because it's a silent movie ok!!1

The Revenant will never be a correct answer. I'm definitely expecting it to scoop the big prize at this point :')

Glad my answer has been accepted (would assume that Avatar was heavily expected), don't really see Birdman as a shock though. An upset perhaps, even just on a personal level as I wanted Boyhood to win.

Eh, I always see Argo chucked about as one of the biggest shock winners, I was expecting it to knock up about 10 votes anyway so lol, got the same amount of points as I anticipated

8. Name A Movie That You Think/Has Been Nominated For Best Picture in our Buzzjack Movie Awards 2016.

http://i66.tinypic.com/2119b45.jpg

11 movies nominated, 8 answered! The missing movies that are also nominated are Big Hero 6, Spy and Mad Max: Fury Road. Room and Mockingjay Part 2 score Joe and Josh a pointless and most of the other nominees scored 1 point: from best film of 2015 Brooklyn to absolutely adored Inside Out to horror gem It Follows! And way out infront is the obvious answer of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which has the most nominations and is one of the biggest grossing movies of all time! Of course what could it be without wrong answers! Regina was wrong with The Martian, but for actually being brave to guess an answer before the nominations were announced, I'm not giving you the full deduction! Anyway as much as it would be nice for Frozen to be up, it was 2013 :( However maybe we should give a special award to Frozen Fever to continue Frozen love  And no one seems to like Spectre but me so that didn't get in either!

http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=187322 Vote here for your winner, deadline is in a bit over a week!
Also look out for a new thread maybe as early as the early hours of tomorrow morning related to the Awards!

POINTLESS: 0: Room- Joe
0: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2- Josh

1: It Follows- Ultraviolence1989, Alex!
1: Inside Out- Richie, Haus
1: Kingsman: The Secret Service- Jahq, Burbe
1: Avengers: Age Of Ultron- Jonjo, Chez Wombat
1: Brooklyn- Acidburn, Oliver
5: Star Wars: The Force Awakens- NotFurlong, HarryEzra, Bre, Jade, Dan, Lotti

10: The Martian- Regina
21: Frozen- Dobbo
21: Spectre- Mack
#PointlessSoRacist -_- it's because i'm pale isn't it?

9. Name an actor that has won Best Actor under the age of 35 and also include what movie it was for.

http://i66.tinypic.com/262b884.jpg

More pointless answers as Haus and Oliver are the next 2 members to scoop the pointless! Quite a lot of 1 and 2 pointers here, from the likes of Nicholas Cage to the youngest ever Best Actor winner- Adrian Brody for The Pianist- at the age of 29. Eddie Redmayne is the top answer here for his portrayal as Stephen Hawking which saw him pick up the Oscar at 33 last year (I thought he was a few years younger than that!). Joe gets 10 points for answering Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight, while being a winner under 35, it was for Best Supporting Actor but not Best Actor. I wasn't going to deduct any points if other people went for supporting actors but as Heath Ledger was the only non Best Actor here, I'm giving you a deduction but not the full 21 points as I can see the confusion! However one person probably kicking themselves over their answer is Jonjo who answered Sam Mendes, who did win an Oscar under the age of 35 for American Beauty, but for directing and not acting! Macaculary Culkin came nowhere close to a nomination for Home Alone 2, his most famous role of course though! Nowadays he seems to have disappeared and had many problems, when I was looking up his name to see if he ever did get Oscar nominated the 2nd thing in the Google search box was Death and Dead :( Anyway back on topic (because when can I not resit talking at you all about irrelevant things), Bre's back to trolling with Pixie Lott not being a male and Fred: The Movie being one of the biggest pieces of crap to ever exist and more like multiple Razzie winner and once again Leonardo hasn't won yet, and he is 41 so he is over 35 regardless!
Now time for more absolutely kicking yourselves over Question 10 because some of you need to read the question :kink:

POINTLESS: 0: Marlon Brando (On The Waterfront)- Haus
0: James Stewart (The Philadelphia Story)- Oliver

1: Robert Donat (Goodbye Mr Chips)- Richie, Lotti
1: Maximillian Schell – Judgement At Nuremburg- Acidburn, Josh
2: Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas)- Ultraviolence 1989, Burbe, Mack
2: Adrian Brody (The Pianist)- Regina, Chez Wombat, NotFurlong
3: Eddie Redmayne (The Theory Of Everything)- Jahq, Alex!, HarryEzra, Jade

10: Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight)- Joe
21: Sam Mendes (American Beauty)- Jonjo
21: Macaulary Culkin (Home Alone 2)- Dobbo
21: Pixie Lott (Fred The Movie)- Bre
21: Leonardo Di Caprio (The Revenant)- Dan

10. Name a movie that was nominated for Best Picture in 2010 (So the movies released in 2009).

http://i66.tinypic.com/2z8xp5k.jpg

Some of you need to read questions :kink: I even put in BRACKETS a movie released in 2009 nominated in 2010 and we still had 5 wrong answers, 4 of them 2011 Oscar nominated movies released in 2010 :kink: Anyway it's pointless for the 3 J's and Joe/Jonjo/Jade all pick up a pointless for the wonderful Precious, Tarantino's massive Inglorious bast*rds and the Coen Brothers A Serious Man. More 1 pointers here for surprise box office hit and nominee alien-thriller, Pixar's beautiful animated movie Up, the biggest film of all time Avatar, the eventual winner The Hurt Locker and the George Clooney kind of forgotten about movie Up In The Air. The highest score goes to Carey Mulligan's drama An Education. Now onto the wrong answers, Iron Man 2 came nowhere near the Oscars and was also a pile of rubbish, wrong year also as that would be 2011 nominated if it was good! All the other wrong ones were 2011 nominees, eventual winner The Kings Speech, James Franco drama 127 Hours and the start of David O'Russell's comeback with The Fighter.
The Blind Side was the only one not answered and was probably my favourite of the nominees!

POINTLESS: 0: Precious- Joe
0: Inglorious bast*rds- Jonjo
0: A Serious Man- Jade

1: District 9- Ultraviolence1989, Burbe
1: The Hurt Locker- Regina, NotFurlong
1 : Up- Jahq, Chez Wombat
1 : Avatar- Dobbo, Bre
1: Up In The Air- HarryEzra, Haus
2: An Education- Richie, Josh, Alex!

21: 127 Hours- Acidburn, Mack
21: Iron Man 2- Dan
21: The King’s Speech- Lotti
21: The Fighter- Oliver
There is no way that No Country For Old Men was a shock! It won the main award at the SAGS!

BONUS: 11. A bit less Oscar related, name an actor or actress that would draw me to watch a movie!

http://i65.tinypic.com/t858c2.jpg

Now the question related to me *.* Where you all practically scored 0 or 10! My favourite is probably Kate Winslet who got no mentions so let's look at who did and who didn't:

Correct Ones
Meryl Streep is queen *.* Cameron Diaz is the comedy queen *.* Keira is so underrated and a fantastic actress! Alicia is my new favourite and adored her so much in her 4 films last year! Sandra always slays everything and is one of my favourites of all time, especially in her comedies (in particular The Proposal & Two Weeks Notice) and The Blind Side. Rachel is another queen who is great in everything from Mean Girls to Spotlight. Kristen is so underrated and a really talented actress who always increases my interest in movies. Channing is great (for more than one reason) also! All these people scored pointless so great knowing of me (or more likely in some cases great guessing a random actor or actress!) and would all draw me to watch a movie. The only actress to score points is the always wonderful Jennifer Lawrence who has been terrific in the likes of The Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook and Joy and my interest in a movie always increase when she stars in one!

Wrong Ones
Chez and Bre didn't answer, Idina is of course amazing but she's done like 2 films in the last 8 and a bit years so I couldn't really accept her, a very hot gif of Shawn Ashmore couldn't persuade me to give him points as I don't think I've seen one of his movies bar the X-Men lot, Mark Rylance was great in Bridge Of Spies but that's really the only thing I know I've 100% seen him in, Chris is good but he doesn't draw me to a movie and has given some awful performances (see in the heart of the crap), Lucy Hale once again is more TV and coupled with the fact she's done 2 cinema released movies (which I've seen neither) so I can't accept and Lady Gaga is an incredible singer, icon and also now TV star but not a movie star!

POINTLESS: 0: Meryl Streep- Ultraviolence1989
0: Cameron Diaz- Joe
0: Margot Robbie- Jonjo
0: Keira Knightley- Acidburn
0: Alicia Vikander- Josh
0: Sandra Bullock- HarryEzra
0: Rachel McAdams- Jade
0: Kristen Stewart- Haus
0: Channing Tatum- Mack

2: Jennifer Lawrence- Jahq, Burbe, NotFurlong
10: Idina Menzel- Dobbo, Dan
10: Shawn Ashmore- Regina
10: Mark Rylance- Richie
10: No Answer- Chez Wombat, Bre
10: Chris Hemsworth- Alex!
10: Lucy Hale- Lotti
10: Lady Gaga- Oliver
Oops at Heath Ledger, I honestly read that as "name an actor that's won an oscar..."

I typed in 2010 oscar nominations and it must have linked me to the 83rd Awards rather than 82nd (that's why I put "The Fighter").

And you never know, Lady Gaga might end up singing the theme song for a film that you might want to watch UV... ;)

I predict middle-low for that. Still baffled as how I had Audrey Hepburn for the first question. I thought I sent queen Fonda
