February 26, 20169 yr I would LOVE to be positive about this campaign, god knows I adore Mollie and wish her every success, but I just can't see it :( Radio are 95% likely to not support her. Stranger things have happened but she'll need a KILLER song that's simply too much of a smash to ignore. And I can't really see that happening sadly. I think we need to lower our estimations and expect a complete flop, then we'll be surprised if anything does in fact happen. Nathan was and still is being spun constantly by Capital, due to the record label he's on. Mollie won't have that advantage sadly. I'm expecting a similar style hit to Threads unfortuntely :(
February 26, 20169 yr As much as I want Mollie to knock it out the park, I'm not sure it will happen. As long as we get good music then I will be happy.
February 26, 20169 yr I honestly just want the album? And since I know she only has a single-deal now I'm worried. The label can easily back out if something goes wrong. I don't think it's that bad just hoping she manages to do well enough to get the body of work she's been working on for like the past 18 months.
February 26, 20169 yr I see everyone saying a threads type hit but threads was Awful. NO THANKS :nono:

February 26, 20169 yr I think that people are saying she might achieve the same level of success as Threads. Was this one single deal ever confirmed? Or is it just speculation "Intel" from an insider, but it makes sense really. I doubt the labels were throwing themselves at her to get her a record deal. Island is probably the only label the talks went with rather well, but even then, it makes sense they would first offer her a single-deal and upgrade it to a full-on-360 deal if there's interest in her. February 27, 20169 yr While I understand that we don't want to get our hopes up and there is a real possibility that this will flop horribly, I think we are also downplaying how much being signed to Island will probably help. Regardless of her coming from the Saturdays, she will still be considered a new act which should give her just as good a shot as any other new artist signed to the label. That's why I think the Leona comparisons may not be totally valid -- like the Saturdays, Leona's an established act that already started flopping long ago. They will be smart to avoid associating Mollie with the Saturdays if they don't have to. Mollie is young and unknown enough to where she can start with a clean slate which I think would help her more than just being "an ex-member of the Saturdays." So, if the material is right (which I expect it to be if who she's been working with is any indicator) and the label fully backs her by negotiating radio support and getting her some decent promo (which they would be foolish to invest all this time and money into her material and not back her) I don't see why she can't at least manage a Top 10/20 which is all she should need to start her solo career off on the right foot. Call me a loon but I don't think it's that farfetched. Edited February 27, 20169 yr by (Zach)
March 3, 20169 yr Mollie had a meeting for the video of her first single, today. I AM READY FOR YOU MOLLIEH
March 4, 20169 yr Mollie had a meeting for the video of her first single, today. Get it Mollie! I hope it went well
March 7, 20169 yr The first single might be called "Reckless Heart". If it's not, then it's a song from the album. It's co-written by Mollie herself and Steve Anderson (Kylie Minogue). Seems like Mollie will probably have co-written pretty much the whole record. I like that.
March 7, 20169 yr Hm, he doesn't seem to established and he's not got any songs that are well known / done commercially well. It sounds like Mollie is going down the Radio 2 route. Edited March 7, 20169 yr by LeeWallace

March 8, 20169 yr I can imagine Mollie singing In My Arms, Get Out of My Way and 2 Hearts so yes yes yes give me that Kylie tribute I love
March 8, 20169 yr Could also hear Mollie singing 'Wow', would love if Mollie gave us some Kylie level pop masterpieces!
March 9, 20169 yr Steve doesn't really write or produce for Kylie though, he is mainly focussed on her tours, his studio tour versions are good though, as is the Brothers In Rhythm mis of Finer Feelings.
