January 7, 20169 yr 'Wild Things' may have just pushed me into being a fan of her. I like 'Here' but to me it's just "there" and doesn't do too much. 'Wild Things' has shown me that she does indeed have potential.
March 8, 20169 yr Didn't realize the video was out already! It's been taking off in US and Canada, nice track. It reminds me of "Something In The Way You Move" though :P
March 8, 20169 yr It's alright, the verses lyrically are good! I've only really liked 'Scars To Your Beautiful' based on what I've heard. Something about her really annoys me, I can't quite put my finger on it.
March 8, 20169 yr Author I know that you could argue that a lot of the album is pop but there is already discussion on this in the R&B forum within the album thread for 'Know It All'. For neatness, if you wouldn't mind moving this over.
April 4, 20169 yr Not overly keen on her underdog shtick but this song's way more interesting and appealing to me than 'Here' ever was. Lovely, compelling production and it's clear she's a very talented lyricist.
April 4, 20169 yr I don't get why 'Here' was that big in the US, it's really not that interesting and this and many other songs I have heard by her are SO much better.
April 4, 20169 yr Here was fantastic IMO a nice mid tempo climbing sort of track that made me interested in her voice, but that was just me.
April 5, 20169 yr I'm totally Team "Here". Like, I've had my fill of underdog anthems as well, but I feel "Here" rises above that in so many ways. I love the deftness of the imagery and the specificity of its lyrics; it comes off like the internal monologue of an actual human being, and not like, Levi's jeans ad copy. And that sample and that production are a perfect match for the lyrics and they give the song that essential air of creeping anxiety. I dunno, I just love that it's a specific moment in time contained in a song, and every part of the song just works to evoke it as much as possible. "Wild Things" on the other hand is just broad stroke after broad stroke, and the production is just..."nothing-y". Edited April 5, 20169 yr by dhwe
June 17, 20169 yr Wow. I can't even at how much I adore 'Wild Things', it's so much better than 'Here'. I seen her supporting Coldplay last night and I couldn't help think how great her music was, I'm going to listen to her album but after hearing a couple of tracks last night in sure I won't be disappointed.
