It was released on 6 April 2014 as the fifth and final single from their fourth studio album Living for the Weekend (2013). The song was written by Antonio Egizii, Celetia Martin, David Musumeci, Carl Ryden and Carla Marie Williams, and produced by Ryden. "Not Giving Up" was first previewed on The Saturdays' reality show Chasing the Saturdays in January 2013. The music video marked Frankie Sandford's official return to the group, after taking time off in 2013 to have her first child.
April 3, 20169 yr Author Critical Reception The song received mostly positive reviews from music critics. Bradley Stern of music website MuuMuse recognised "Not Giving Up" as the best song off the album, commenting “Not Giving Up is amazing for a variety of reasons: For one thing, it’s about not giving up on love. Persistence is inspiring! But then, the actual song’s fantastic too. Actually, it’s stupid good." Jon O'Brien for Yahoo! called the song "one of the strongest singles of their up-and-down career" describing it as "contemporary dancefloor-friendly fare with a trance-pop sugar rush."

April 3, 20169 yr Daybreak, Saturday Night Take Away and Sunday Brunch had been performances this might have lifted the song into the Top 15, as that would have been 5 performances in 6 days. Also weren't they axed from Saturday Night Takeaway at the last minuet? Or was that another time? Not Giving Up still gets played loads in Westfield Stratford, shame it didn't have the impact that it should have.
April 3, 20169 yr Author Does anyone have the TV airplay run for this? Because we all know there wasn't a radio airplay run..........

Yeah, I really wish they managed a 'Daybreak' performance and an acoustic Sunday Brunch performance, I remember being told that Capital would have put it on their main playlist had it went top 10 on iTunes. They've always had very weird last minute cancelltions with ITV. They were due to be on X Factor (My Heart Takes Over) and were removed for pre-recorded Bieber and they decided against appearing on Xtra Factor. They were also rumoured to perform on BGT before it being confirmed they were on BGT Extra but that was cancelled last minute. Saturday Night Takeaway was even included in their promo on their website and boom cancelled again.

I thought it was Rihanna that could appear that bumped The Sats off of X Factor, as it was supposed to be them and Rebecca Ferguson performing, they even appear with Little Mix in their behind the scenes video. But they were bumped to Xtra Factor (I believe it was a combo of Rihanna and no Frankie) and they were like yeah we're not doing that. (Which I think was good for them to stand up for themselves like that.)
April 4, 20169 yr Not Giving Up being their first ever single to not receive any mainstream radio support breaks my heart. The video was so good too, if they'd taken a bit more time to perfect the choreo, it would have been so good.
April 4, 20169 yr Masterpiece. Shame it was screwed over by it's album  Genuinely think this could have been a Sats classic for people beyond their core fanbase had it been given the chance
April 5, 20169 yr Author ^ Agreed This was played on radio stations and TV stations in Asia and South America. Makes me sad for the missed worldwide potential.
April 5, 20169 yr I will never get over how this wasn't released instead of Gentleman after the hype created with WBA. criminal to say the least :( I wonder what the sales are for this now? guessing aroung the 40,000+ mark? Edited April 5, 20169 yr by Mackenzie
April 5, 20169 yr Mollie's verse in this slays their entire discography. :cheer: Which live vocal moment destroyed their legacy though :o ?
April 5, 20169 yr :cheer: Which live vocal moment destroyed their legacy though :o ? Remember that awful note Rochelle did once when singing with JLS, I think? That was legacy-suicide... :o
April 5, 20169 yr One of their best! OMG imagine if it had had an X Factor performance :o It would have smashed!
April 12, 20169 yr Author One of their best! OMG imagine if it had had an X Factor performance :o It would have smashed! Have you seen their performances of NGU? :kink: Had they come up with something like their SYTYCD performance then yes, it would've!
