Posted April 7, 20169 yr I decided to dedicate a thread to those forgotten pop gems that were never fully appreciated at their time of release. 0kpqM2z-IVo I'll started with Meja's "Spirits", the lead single from her 2000 album "Realities". The song peaked at #24 in Sweden, which while it wasnt bad, it was hardly the big hit it should've been imo. Edited April 7, 20169 yr by Euphorique
April 7, 20169 yr Don't know if it's old enough to be considered oldskool (2009) but I always found this very underrated: _4sILJLsJsQ It peaked at number 16 in the UK charts and lasted a measly 4 weeks top 100 Edited April 7, 20169 yr by Jimmy Jam
April 7, 20169 yr SlU5Qk9w0u4 Of course  hfoDQHr7HGI Listening to this now and still so underrated and incredible  Really think this would have been a big hit had Radio got behind it!
April 7, 20169 yr Don't know if it's old enough to be considered oldskool (2009) but I always found this very underrated: _4sILJLsJsQ It peaked at number 16 in the UK charts and lasted a measly 4 weeks top 100 Definitely agree with this! Much prefer it to the much more successful 'Boogie 2Nite' and I still listen to it lots to this date.
April 7, 20169 yr Definitely agree with this! Much prefer it to the much more successful 'Boogie 2Nite' and I still listen to it lots to this date. Completely agree. Boogie 2Nite is good and fine after a few drinks, but Say It is an absolute jam! One of my favourite noughties tracks, even now
April 12, 20169 yr Was listening to this just now, and I thought I'd pop it in here. Very underrated imo, especially here in the UK. 6cfCgLgiFDM
April 13, 20169 yr Completely agree. Boogie 2Nite is good and fine after a few drinks, but Say It is an absolute jam! One of my favourite noughties tracks, even now Yeah, I think I agree with that sentiment! Another fab choice in 'Your Body' too! I remember it getting Capital support at the time so, especially after 'Moves Like Jagger', I was hoping it would be a smash. It may be a bit faceless when you compare it to the Xtina classics but that doesn't make it any less of an anthem fit for the dancefloor.
April 28, 20169 yr Author I loved this back in 09/10! So underrated, better than Kesha's one for sure. Should've been her lead solo single 2VW4_0d53Dg
April 28, 20169 yr I remember that period when she was releasing music! My fave from her has got to be this: JZg3ibOt964 Should have taken off tbh
April 28, 20169 yr Author I feel like Your Love's A Drug would've done much better than Somebody To Love had it been her first single. A few months later Kesha smashed with a similar sounding song with an identical title Edited April 28, 20169 yr by Euphorique
April 30, 20169 yr Author Another one from 2008, I so wish this had been a huge comeback hit for her :( mfP7SMWURfM
March 18, 20178 yr Author Alizee - J'en Ai Marre 240S04eCCC0 Ok tell me I'm not the only one who thinks Coldplay completely ripped this song off
March 18, 20178 yr Does anyone remember this? It's more or less forgotten but I remember it always being on the music channels at one point. xCEi4Yk4VyE
March 18, 20178 yr 'Misfit' is amazing. I always associate it with '(There's Gotta Be) More To Life' by Stacie Orrico! As I'm sure they were always on the music channels at roughly the same times!
March 19, 20178 yr I don't remember ever seeing her videos on TV but my mum always played Amy Studt's album in the car and I loved it. It was that, Kylie's Light Years and some Robbie albums that I can recall envisioning music videos in my head, usually involving myself. I'd consider the album one of my all time favourites and it's one that I can't just listen to one song, I have to listen to the full album. That's not because the songs sound best as part of an album rather than a stand alone piece or anything like that, more that once I've listened to one, I just want to listen to them all. I couldn't tell you my favourite song. The first 9 (I have the version that doesn't include 'All I Wanna Do', so 'Just a Little Girl' to 'Gonna Be Fine') are just faultless. Now I'm going to have the album on repeat for the next week or so!
March 20, 20178 yr One of the best dancepop tracks of the 90s, heading for a high chart position but it got disqualified due to allegations of bulk-buying. A reissue a year later only just sneaked in at #40. 9CCvEjRctTA Samantha Fox did a Sash/DJ Quicksilver-inspired cover a few years later, which also only just went top 40. Love them both! cssv7JXMXUs
March 20, 20178 yr Kristinia DeBarge - Goodbye (how did this not smash) Kat DeLuna - Run the Show (ditto) Speaking of Stacie Orrico, "I'm Not Missing You" is incredible, I wish she'd have been bigger or at least kept making music :(
March 20, 20178 yr ... and speaking of Stacie Orrico! One of the song writers for (There's Gotta Be) More To Life had this killer song of her own: Zqabyv6INwQ Such an undeserved flop.
