So, under months of duress from Ryan, I've given the compilation album a spin on Spotify and here are my rankings of this set of songs

If Georgia is seriously being talked about as a winner like Ryan says then fuq me everything else must really be falling flat.

CHRIST RYAN this was 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Haven't got a clue who will win, Italy I suppose.

Macedonia, Albania and Russia seem fine from the recaps

I actually had a life when this thing was happening bye

Poor female presenter having lipstick on her teeth oops
Belarus and Netherlands top three. I am losing faith in humanity
More booing going on than if Putin turned up to the main event *.*

Oh my god. They are BOOING GEORGIA

WHAT THE HELL MALTA

WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE

Bjorkman gives 12 for Belarus lmfao
Well that would've been excited if the host hadn't fucked it up.
What a cow. She spoiled the result hahahah. 110 points
Poor Armenia top 3 five times :(

MessC

Georgia/Armenia as an either or for the winner was an absolute hobson's choice but of the two I'd much rather it was Georgia so that was a semi-decent save.

Oh my Jesus who let them all on stage. What a f***ing mess

But she really pulled it off by the end. <3

I wasn't a fan of Mzeo in studio version, but it was a song made for the stage and after her performance I immediately had her joining Italy as the two potential winners. Georgia and Bulgaria were the two performances to give me goosebumps so that tells me something. Of course, I think Mariam won because of her sensational voice rather than a sensational song and joins a long run of winners now with big voices with sometimes unremarkable songs. Armenia would've probably been the best winner for the contest, an uptempo song that still shows off voices and won the kids vote. But I was rooting for Georgia and she did it! :D

Overall, a good show. There were of course some errors and awkward moments, but overall it flowed decently. Loved the stage and the graphics. The voting was extremely exciting yet again - although the adults jury seemed to be rushed through a bit too quickly - at least until Valerie messed up the big Armenia points reveal at the end! :heehee: But it didn't affect things too much.

Results-wise, I was pleasantly surprised Ireland finished top 10. Thought it was guaranteed bottom 3 and forgotten with that draw, but Zena is a great performer and she deserved it. The biggest shocks were Albania and Macedonia. I expected both to at least do well with the adult if not the kids, but that didn't happen. I think Israel deserved more too, very charming performance. Cyprus' vocals were unfortunately too exposed and the camerawork actually made the performance seem worse than what I'd seen from the LQ rehearsal videos - despite the actual performance being identical.

I'd love to see Tbilisi 2017, although I struggle to imagine Georgia would host. I think Armenia would be up for it though, so Yerevan 2017 seems likely!

Out of interest I listened to all of the songs on Spotify and played them blindly and TBH Georgia's studio version stood out most to me! I wasn't all that shocked when I checked countries at the end and saw it was the winning entry.

To be fair, though I still wouldn't watch the show, just because I generally despise kids talent shows, I did like seven of the songs, in order from my favourite: Malta, Bulgaria, Georgia, Ireland, Macedonia, Israel and Australia.
