Posted September 30, 200618 yr Now THIS is Ollie Stone at his crusading, establishment-bashing best.... Whether you believe a word of his conspiracy theory or not, one thing cannot be in doubt, he makes an incredibly convincing argument, and frankly I dont think he's that far off the mark anyway.... Using a plethora of different film styles and editing techniques, "JFK" emerges as one of the best films of the 1990s, a truly dizzying cinematic tour-de-force and one of the best Political Thrillers ever made, the three hour run-time whizzes by. This is the cinematic equivalent of a cyclone, and it just shows the schizophrenic nature of Ollie as a film-maker - he makes superb works of cinematic art like this "Born on the Fourth of July", "Salvador", "Platoon" and "Natural Born Killers" which hit you like a fukkin juggernaut, then he makes plodding, portentous rubbish like "Nixon", "Heaven and Earth" and "Alexander" (and, from all accounts his new one "World Trade Center"), which are the cinematic equivalent of watching paint dry....
October 1, 200618 yr Wot, no one likes Ollie...? well mate even though there might loads of brilliant films to highlight on tv in the week, think tbh looking at the threads here its pointless to highlight anything thans not ultraviolent or ultra bloody horror.
