I like this bit in the last one.

But Michael Mayer's loving production ensures it is not merely a solo vehicle for Smith, but also a fully integrated show that has some great chorus numbers (expanded since the Menier), an outstanding Darius Campbell bringing texture and vocal resonance to the somewhat underwritten role of her husband Nicky, and a touching, terrific trio of Marilyn Cutts, Valda Avis and Gay Soper as Fanny's mother and neighbours.

The role of Nicky is deliberately underwritten for two main reasons.

The producer of the show was Fanny Brice's son-in-law, Ray Stark, and her daughter, Frances, didn't want to wash her parents' dirty linen in public, so the writer stuck to pretty much what was in the public domain.

The second reason was that Nicky Arnstein was still alive and threatening legal action.

My facebook is friends only but Darius Cambell Archive and News can be viewed by any one. Funny Girl UK can see the photos - they have facebook though so maybe that makes a difference
Loved the show (I got a day seat this time only 1 left - just expect to never know if the cast wear shoes or (sometimes) clothes on their bottom halves) The show was as full of life as ever. You (I) still wanted to laugh or cry through it. It is a very moving show. I hope the cd comes soon. I'd love them to do a dvd. Brilliant cast Funny Girl is so lucky having Sheridan and Natasha in it. I knew that Natasha would be good as she wouldn't have been given the understudy post if she hadn't been brilliant. Now she's brilliant and has been seen. Sheridan will never be forgotten either.

"What do happy people do?" - NICK and the girls.

Weird I don't remember that one at all. Does Darius sing or just speak in the scene in which it features?

I only remember him singing in 4 tracks

I don't mind if they give him more as his voice is great.

This doesn't sound like the real cd listing - it sounds more about who was there and when it was recorded.
