Next of the Star Wars spin-offs is the younger Han-Solo one and it's been announced today that Alden Ehrenreich will be playing the younger version of the iconic character!

So hyped for this now

Can't get loads from just a 45 second clip but it looks decent to me. A bit cautious of more Star Wars after not loving The Last Jedi...

AT LAST. I've been waiting for something from this for months now 😂 Nice to see that the summer release is still on and this isn't getting pushed back *.*

I love Alden ehrenreich and this looks really good, I'm so hyped 😍

That trailer already has more action and different scenes/scenery than The Last Jedi.
I’m intrigued by this. It’s already starting to look better than it ever sounded.

I'm really excited. Still no too convinced with Alden as younger Han, but I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt ofc.

I feel like Disney is just milking Star Wars for money at this point. As exciting as it is to get a Han Solo origins movie, I always found the mystery behind him & Chewbacca to be part of the intrigue of their characters. I don’t want someone who isn’t Han Solo (because Harrison Ford will always be the true Solo for me) to tell a story of how he got to where he was in A New Hope. It’s nice and I probably will watch it, but we all know how it ends and will finish on a bit of a downer just like Rogue One did. It will probably be better than The Last Jedi though tbh

yep, they milk Star Wars indeed. many people don;t expect much from the movies but still go to see them for the old times' sake. I can't even decide whether it's good or bad.

As for this spin-off, I'm afraid it's not my thing this time, though I rather enjoyed Rogue-one and Episode VII. I'm just not a big fan of Solo in the first place. And don't like the cast in the teaser (apart from Lando) The Mother of Dragons looks somewhat out of place :D

New trailer:

I will definitely see this, but Star Wars have got to work hard to win me back round after The Last Jedi.

The thing that worries me a bit is that the storyline seems a little bit simple, but what do I know? Perhaps they're saving some real big twists for the film.

I have little interest in Star Wars in general and even less for Han Solo but Alden Ehrenreich is so goddamn GORGOUS I might have to check this out.

Really enjoyed it, 8/10. Much better than Rogue One. Basically a heist movie in the Star Wars universe doubling as an origin prequel. Fun, action-packed, good pace, good cast - I mean, please Game Of Thrones, Avengers, Hunger Games and a nice cameo from a Return Of The Jedi actor minus the furry costume, what's not to love. I won't spoil the surprise...

Ron Howard did a good job - I still prefer Apollo 13 of his movies, but won't nitpick the odd bit of corny dialogue. Even the sassy female droid was more fun than as annoying as it could have been.

Actually here’s my full ranking...

Empire Strikes Back

Return of the Jedi

Rogue One

A New Hope

The Force Awakens

Revenge of the Sith

The Phantom Menace

The Last Jedi

Solo

Attack of the Clones

I actually loved this! It was really good fun and all the planets, species, characters mentioned were fantastic continuity for those of us that follow Star Wars closely. I was worried but this definitely exceeded my expectations and Alden was a very convincing Han Solo to me.

I really don't think this deserves the negative press this is getting right now. Don't get me wrong, it's certainly not without its flaws and feels waaays too long, but overall I think it's a great addition to the Star Wars universe.

Definitely not as good as Rogue One, but at this point, I'm loving the side stories way more than the new 'episodes'.

I think the length was the main issue for me. If it had been 90 minutes it would have worked a lot more, but there really wasn't enough content to drag it out for a further 45 minutes beyond that.

I also found Emilia Clarke's character extremely messy, and the back and forth with her didn't really work. Thandie and Donald were way underused. I thought L3 was great though.

My rankings. Solo was fine, about as expected. Very bland and you know they can do better.
