The price reduction has without doubt helped but i would assume it will be going back to full price very soon.

Cry falling 2 places in a few days can only be due to streaming, cause its iTunes position has been the same for almost a week now.
Streaming would definitely be the reason. I would think a position in the top 45 now looks possible on Friday.

They're still missing Apple Music and Spotify streams from Tuesday. I hope they don't fall much tomorrow

I actually remember reading (on Popjustice, Digital Spy or ATRL) that inclusion of streaming on the charts is good since it would remove the ageism effect imposed by radios, yet the opposite seems to be happening where younger artists are dominating the top 40 while older acts are struggling because of streaming.

Streaming would always have a negative affect on older artists as many of their fans will listen to their music and purchase their music in the traditional method.

I still think streaming needs to be looked at. No way can it supersede sales in the way it is currently. How is Drake #1 for 10 weeks etc
What we know about next album and 25th anniversary:

1. Robbie will return for 25th anniversary, Jason unlikely

2. Their next album will be out at the end of the year and is a hybrid between their electronic and acoustic stuff

You have just delivered a killer blow with that information. Acoustic and electronic is exactly what i did not want on the new Take That. The excitement i had for the new album has suddenly gone sour.

I believe the Greatest Hits era will be what i will have to wait for.

I'm split: love the acoustic part, hate the electronic one. We'll wait and see how it plays out.
I am deflated with that news. I know i should not judge anything before i hear the music but i am not looking forward to the new album now and will be holding back on purchasing it. I hope the sound proves me wrong but i honestly believe they are yet again moving in the wrong direction and will alienate further fans and sales.

Seriously !!!! :( If indeed it has strong electronic elements I'll give up. Who is leading this direction? Surely they can see it's not popular with the public and sales are low for this genre? I'm not one to be too negative or pre-empt it's lack of success but I can't see how an electronic/acoustic album will produce a cohesive sound.

Their success has come from MOR ballads, strong lyrics with lovely orchestration and harmonies. To move too far away from their traditional sound is simply career suicide. I'd like to know who came up with this poor, poor decision? Gary's recent original work has largely followed the traditional TT sound, but the band seem to have moved in a strange and in my view, awful direction. My god if they produce anything along the lines of Hey Boy - I foresee major, major problems with marketing the album.

I have real concerns about the selling power of this release. Most of us have said they need to recapture the winning formula of the BW/Circus era, instead they appear to be persisting with a sound which will ultimately fail. I know the lads are very much in control of their work but surely there's someone in the record company with the foresight to honestly tell them the direction they're going in is the wrong one.

Hopefully it'll just mean songs like These Days mixed with Rule the World types...
I am not liking the sound of the new direction if true. It sounds disastrous, surely they can see it's not what the fans want. With that combination it can't be cohesive,I really hope it's just a rumour.

I'm staying optimist and choose to believe that Gary's "bossiness" can sway the other 2 in the right direction. Everything he's released lately has been of quality, I hope this won't change with Take That.
Gary is delivering much stronger solo work than his work with Take That. I too hope he has the power to persuade them.
I have yet to see the positions 41-100 for this week but as we stand, Take That were not top 40 today.

It's 41 :( I find it so unfair. Adele is 15 and TT are 41 - on iTunes they're only 1-2 places aside. Streaming is clearly making all the difference.

On sales alone, they're 16, while Adele is 13 - that, in my opinion, is a better reflection of reality than the chart positions based on sales+streaming.

Cry will likely earn more money than many of the songs charting higher as overall its actual sales they are achieving which brings in much larger revenue.

Missing a top 40 return by 1 place is frustrating but i welcome a 2 consecutive week climb for them.
