Avicii's biggest hit of the year in my chart so far is actually a remix! This became a grower very quickly and was close to topping my chart, but afterwards I think it was the length of time before the drop that made me go off it a bit.

After loving Fight Song and loving even more Stand By You, I listened to the album, which was incredible and this was my favourite of them, and second favourite overall :heart: her songs are so sweet and this one is especially along with the super catchy production. If only this was a single and slayed in the chart :no:

My favourite of all the PVRIS songs now and it's managed #22 without its full run! :o The build up to the chorus and again her passionate shouting contrasting with the softly spoken verses are excellent. And the chorus is so easy to sing along to :music:

The original song to my BJSC entry Ghost and not the Lost Kings remix, which just misses my top 20 here. This version actually outsells the remix by over 100K :o it also outpeaks it here at #3 when the remix peaked at #10. It's incredibly eerie and while the remix is a fun little tropic house jam this seems to make a more emotional impact on me than it did at the time of sending the remix, and listening to her album also helped me grow to this a lot!

Halsey just misses out in remix form at #16, which I think I found after casually Youtubing for Halsey remixes :whistle: Halsey's vocal slays me with most of her music and this remix makes her vocals shine even more :yahoo:

An excellent Little Mix ballad from their pretty great third album Get Weird. The vocals really touch me, and although Jason Derulo, one of my faves features in here, he doesn't really add much, and his dancing isn't the best in the video :lol:

I found this when subscribed to Proximity, and while I've only heard the Eric Prydz version of Tether by these guys before which was pretty great, but this has become my fave. The lead singer (I need to find out her name!) has lovely vocals and it's especially evident in this one and the remix made by Gryffin who I know in some other pretty decent remixes and this one is no exeption :music:

A former BJSC entry from earlier this year, and as usual it DNQd (which was expected as it's not that kind of BJSC friendly dance). I discovered it after finding out LarsM remixed the same track but his one wasn't that good so I googled and found this :music: the sampling from a Sex and the City episode makes it particularly interesting and funny and the production is pretty addictive *.* After the recording of this countdown, Marihuana made over a million sales on my chart, and it's also the only track that has done so while also debuting this year :o

And there we have it! This was only #40 on last year's EOY because of the late entry and was #2 closely beaten by Faded in the first Q this year, now closely beating it in the midway point. This was my BJSC entry in November and DNQd by only one place which was still not bad going and I couldn't resist sending it because of how much I loved it. It sounds incredibly euphoric to me and reminds me of Avicii in some ways. :music: :heart: :wub:

 

Making over 1.5M sales in total and being 7th biggest on the all time sellers on my chart, will it hold its pole position for the remaining 6 months? Can the likes of Against the Current or Alexa Lusader get even close to it after completing their runs? :thinking:
