Posted October 2, 200618 yr The Arctic Monkeys have won a poll to find the most popular student anthem. The band's debut single 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor' beat off competition from The Killers and Kaiser Chiefs, who came second and third with 'Mr Brightside' and 'I Predict A Riot' respectively. The poll by NME asked the opinions of student DJs. NME student editor Dan Silver commented: "It's no surprise that the Arctic Monkeys have taken the top spot - 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor' is a worthy winner always guaranteed to pack any Student Union bar with revellers." Older bands that made it into the top ten include The Smiths and Joy Division. extre No real surprise tbh. I'm not at uni but I can imagine that track been a big hit on the dancefloor although I imagine if there was a new survery in the near future then The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger would finish extremley near the top. :o

The best top three possible, ESPECIALLY for my Uni :lol: I Bet You Look Good, Mr Brightside and I Predict A Riot are ALWAYS the songs that make everyone get up :lol: I'm Not Okay (I Promise) by My Chemical Romance and Beating Heart Baby by Head Automatica are up there here too ^_^ I haven't been to SU since I got back though and I REALLY want to :cry:

October 3, 200618 yr Everyone's working there most of the time though :cry: Plus I'm seperated from most of my friends too so I hardly ever see them now :( I remembered when they played When The Sun Goes Down and I was the only one who was as enthusiastic about it :lol:
October 3, 200618 yr Good on them, '...Dancefloor' is an awesome song, and is easily one of the few classics we've had since the turn of the milenium. And I agree about 'Chelsea Dagger'... I must play that song like twice a day at least
October 7, 200618 yr Author I think Dancefloor will be played for a long time around the student clubs. :D I was on this Universtity stay a few months ago and well some of the students were DJ'ing for us and they all went mad when IBTYLGONDF came on. ^_^
