You all know I love me a good review and love me a good superhero movie, so why not combine them? I've compiled a list of my 20 favourite ones and will be counting them down. Much like my Review thread I'll go into why they work and give them a SebbyArm rating out of 5.

This will begin as soon as I remember where I saved my list :') feel free to predict.

20 | Batman & Robin

Don't judge me okay? I grew up with this movie and frankly, it's one of those "so bad it's good" movies.

Chris O'Donnell was a total hottie back then too, and Alicia Silverstone is just as flawless then as she is now. The only movie appearence of Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy thus far.

Arnie was a bit of a miscast I admit but Uma Thurman really nailed Ivy IMO. It has all the comic-ness that made it seem superhero-ish throughout and is a stark contrast to the movies to come before it and the ones to follow, so it sticks out. Clooney is an odd Batman, but better than Val Kilmer and, IMO, Christian Bale (come for me Balestans).

The shots of batbutt, batcrotch and batnips are iconic and look more like a porn parody than a real film.

Umu saves that film. She's so good!

19 | Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

The newest movie on my list (I have yet to see Civil War) and one of the most annoying. The theatrical edition is really disjointed and managed to feel overstuffed and underfilled at the same time. Thankfully the extended edition makes it so much better and cohesive. The positives; Batfleck - probably my favourite Batman yet, he is broody, dark and sometimes emotionless which is how Bruce is meant to be. Gal as Wonder Woman didn't get enough screentime for me, but this did a fab job of introducing her to the DC world and showing what she can do, making me super hyped for her movie. I hope to see more of her with Lois, for reasons. Amy Adams yet again steals the show as Lois, making her the badass and fiesty woman she is meant to be, I loved seeing her get really stuck in and be a bigger part of the action. Her bullet storyline was a bit washy in places but the deleted scenes explain the big gaps in it. The action sequences were loud and dramatic as you'd expect and Jeremy Irons was a perfect Alfred.

The not so good; Jesse as Luthor, he was too OTT comic villain, I know he's playing a comic villain but he just seemed to pick bits from other actors (I saw too much Heath Ledger's Joker in him) and didn't make him his own. I didn't like how...weak and frail he appeared either. I am yet to fully warm to Henry as Superman, he has the look down but his acting seems really cold and empty, especially in emotional scenes. The one where

Lois rescues him from the pool thing and chucks the kryptonite spear away and they have their moment

seems so one sided, Amy gives a heartbreaking performance and Henry just looks like someone told him there's no more protein shakes in stock. I am also not sold on the casting for Flash and Aquaman, but the trailer for Justice League is making me warm to the fella playing Flash. I kinda hate the angry tribal thing Jason is bringing to Aquaman, I prefer the blonde, sleek and more tolerant to human version. Doomsday also seemed a bit rushed and chucked in for my liking.

I'm not doing fave scenes for all of them but I do recommend viewing the one I mentioned above with Lois and Clark just for Amy alone and also the BIG final battle (which was so epic)

18 | Avengers: Age of Ultron

Probably lower than I wish I could place this, but i have my reasons.

While on the whole this is a very strong movie, there were several little flaws that kinda drag it down and on every repeated viewing I find myself getting a bit miffed by them.

Firstly, they kinda put too much into this movie, a flaw with BVsS I think, there is enough story there and enough history that you don't need silly little love stories or adding in a whole secret family to some characters.

Aaron Taylor Johnson was a decent Quicksilver, but playing someone who was SO well portrayed at the same time by Evan Peters backfired as it shows how much potential there was, and considering his fate, we might not get to see anymore. Elizabeth gets the fragile mind of the Scarlet Witch perfectly, but once again her powerset gets f***ed over, like it always seems to be outside the comics. Complicated powers to explain but it all is meant to revolve around probability with added magic due to her being...shocker....a witch. No control over people's fears or telekinesis. I guess at a push she could manipulate these things with her powers but meh, not overly happy.

Ultron is a classic Avengers villain and I think they got him pretty spot on, so no complaints there. Vision has always been a pain in the butt so he was no shock. I still hate RDJ as Iron Man and think Chris Evans is actually Captain America in real life. Jeremy, side story aside, is really coming into his own as Hawkeye which I am loving.

err 2 bold choices off the mark there!

B&R had so much going for it, but the tone was totally misjudged - the 60's TV camp OTT tongue-in-cheek Batman was awesome (it almost qualified for my sitcom thread if tongue-in-cheek equalled comedy!) but it was so jarring coming off the previous dark movies.

You give me hope that the DVD/Bluray of BvsS is an improvement, as the film wasn't bad as such, but it had flaws that spoiled what could have been.

Ultron: one of my all-time fave superhero flicks and very much inside my top 20 (if I did one) :cheer:

Batman v Superman was fun and I did enjoy it a lot but I must say it was a teeny bit boring. Glad you pointed out the finale fight because that was a lot of fun, the actual Bats vs Supes fight was great and I loved seeing Wonder Woman jump in too, she looks great on the big screen.

Age of Ultron is probably in my top 3 Marvel films too, just so many good action scenes and fun characters. I mean Hulk vs Hulkbuster, so good!!1

17 | Daredevil

A few years ago this would have been WAY higher, but having seen the Netflix series, I am now aware of how much this movie got wrong.

Firstly, Ben Affleck. He does dark and moody pretty well which is needed for DD, but the Matt Murdock side of him needed more work. There were times when he was just too

cringe. Also, the way they portrayed his sonar powers made it too much like second sight (don't start me on that whole "the rain making him find out what Elektra looks like" thing).

Colin Farrell as Bullseye was shit beyond shit. He seems unable to do any other accent other than Irish and he wasn't nearly insane or intimidating enough. He sucks. The plot was pretty decent, moreso in the directors cut which showed more of the lawer side to Matt.

Some more positive things that need to be highlighted. Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin. He had that role nailed perfectly and was suitable intimidating and scary. I'm not normally a fan of majorly changing the skin colour or history of a character just to tick some boxes, expecially when there are tons of black or asian superheros and villains out there, but this occassion it actually payed off.

Jennifer Garner as Elektra. OH MY GOD. Anyone who has seen Alias knows that she is a badass but she just nails it for me. As a fan of the comic character there was very little that I didn't like about Jen in this role, other than her eye colour being so..vivid, and the cheesy romance with Matt. Neither of them strike me as the gushy type. I also like how they didn't deviate too much from her origin stories. She's also stunning throughout. More on Jenlektra to come.....
