Posted July 30, 20168 yr Welcome to a new "thing". Hopefully this will keep discussion up and going whilst we enter the "quieter" periods of an era. And also in the hope that it brings some attention to the tracks no one else seems to talk too much about (despite being fondly remembered). This time we have a bonus track from the comeback album, 'Circus'. We are discussing the sensual 'Phonography' What feelings do you have when you listen to this song? Should it have been a single/would it have done anything? 1SHnbI4YYaQ If you wanted to take part in past editions of this, feel free to do so! Other Opinionsney topics: 01. 'Can't Make You Love Me' 02. 'Chaotic'
July 30, 20168 yr Author I absolutely ADORE this track. I actually prefer it to 'Amnesia' (but not 'Quicksand'!), but all three songs are 10/10 stellar pop songs (and 'Amnesia' is definitely the best "single" choice). The sensual production on this really makes this the pop song it is. Seems like it fits smack bang in the middle of 'Breathe On Me' and 'Unusual You'! Flawless. The 'Circus' era could've been so much bigger had she not bothered with 'If U Seek Amy' and 'Radar' (but, we wouldn't have got the videos that we did for them *.* - so, bittersweet and all that) I really think it should've gone... 01. 'Womanizer' 02. 'Amnesia' 03. 'Out From Under' 04. 'Circus' 05. 'Unusual You' - (and then, depending on where the era was at, at this point) - 06. 'Phonography'
July 30, 20168 yr I love this song, mostly thanks to the addictive production. One of the best of the album (as is 'Amnesia'. Why were these bonus tracks?).
July 31, 20168 yr Author Quieter periods of an era! The shade!! :lol:OMG. It wasn't meant as shade to the era lmao. I just meant that although we're doing well, we could be doing better on posts haha! Especially as we await the music video/more album news. I love this song, mostly thanks to the addictive production. One of the best of the album (as is 'Amnesia'. Why were these bonus tracks?).Britney has always been shit for keeping some of the best stuff from that era as bonus tracks :( I don't mind usually, but it really frustrates me knowing that they never end up as singles, despite being some of the best stuff she's done in ages etc. The only era I felt that the bonus tracks were "underwhelming" in comparison is 'Blackout', but that's literally because of how strong and good 'Blackout' is anyway!
July 31, 20168 yr AMNESIA AND PHONOGRAPHY ARE THE TWO BEST SONGS FROM CIRCUS, PERIOD. Amnesia is literally 'Baby One More Time' good. It is cheesy, but, in the best way possible. It appeals to an older audience as well as a younger audience. It truly should have been the first single. It could have tied in SO well after the Blackout era. Have a brunette Britney waking up in a strip club (hey gimme more) the music video chanting "I FORGOT MY NAME", after referencing "It's Britney, bitch" written on a bathroom mirror in lipstick. OMFG. Amnesia would have SLAYED our f***ing lives. 1. Amnesia 2. Circus 3. Womanizer 4. Quicksand 5. Shattered Glass (remix ft. Lady Gaga with some 'No Way' vibes) 6. Unusual You WHY NOT GUYS. Phonography is a 11/10 track but, I wouldn't place it above those songs commercial value, except maybe 'Unusual You'.

LITERALLY CRYING AND SHAKING AT THAT VIDEO CONCEPT FOR 'AMNESIA'! :shakingcheeseblock: x1000000 Why AREN'T you her manager??
July 31, 20168 yr I've always loved Phonography so much! Definitely one of the best songs on the album. It's a solid album as well, a great follow-up to Blackout and, along with that and Femme Fatale, the three albums where I love 99% of the album. Adore the instrumental as well!
July 31, 20168 yr Phonography is easily my favorite "bonus" track, criminally left of the main album. I swear whoever decides the tracklistings for her albums are tools... My single order: 1 - Circus 2 - Phonography 3 - Amnesia 4 - Shattered Glass 5 - Unusual You --- 6 - Quicksand 7 - Kill The Lights Edited July 31, 20168 yr by Euphorique
July 31, 20168 yr Absolute TUNE. Circus has so many moments in it (Amnesia being the clear BEST as Tyler knows).
