I wonder if a reduced cast improves quality (obviously not solely that factor alone) - I seem to recall whoever took over in ~1998 axed lots of characters (to the point he was called the Axe King or something like that by tabloids) and, by 2000, the show was in one of its "golden eras".

Ronnie and Roxy

all of the current axings have been pretty obvious ones, the kind that would fall under any producer. I wonder if he has the guts to axe some of the other spare parts like Jack or Billy or like asking Sonia to never return.

Who does everyone think will be next? I think Jack, Tina and Sylvie are potentially at threat of the axe. I could see June Brown retiring by the end of next year too, maybe even this year. Other than that, I think the rest can stay. Donna could potentially be axed but I think she'll be safe because she still has a lot of potential.

I can't see Tina/Sylvie being there much longer. I can also see a possible shock Louise exit. Oh and the man bun child

Surely there aren't many more axes left? I think Tina, Shakil and Donna are probably most at risk at this point and honestly none of them would be particularly big losses.

Donna's look of utter disgust when she found out Claudette was shagging Patrick was amazing.

Tina could be likely unless they bring Zsa Zsa back. Donna also but she's too awesome and hasn't been written into a corner yet.

 

I don't think Louise will go. If anything, there's a chance they could bring Lisa back.

I think another two axes would be doable but anymore than that would be too much unless they're bringing in a new family or having some characters return!
