In the words of Britney Spears: why can't they just let them live?

I had to read here first to see what happened to them as didn't want to watch and be so disappointed if they died - I was HOPING after it LEAKED months ago they would change it for an alternate. But no.

Wasn't there an ode to their trailer from 2007:

I was expecting Max to find them in the pool.

Veronica

I thought the aftermath was disappointing! Especially after the haunting ending of last night. I was expecting a really gritty episode but it just felt rather flat.

Same here, the aftermath was a bit dull, you would think they wouldn't be found straight away, nobody knew where they were.

One annoying thing with that episode, when Max went into Jack and Ronnie's house on his own to tell Sharon and the rest of the Mitchells, they could have taken the banners down before they left. Not something I would like to see if I was in his shoes.

I don't know why Max is so desperate to get rid of the drugs. It's not like a cover up is required and there'd still be some in Roxy's system anyway from the previous night so it seems futile. Perhaps it's Jack he's hiding it from?

I'm struggling to feel anything for Jack. Maybe I would if he hadn't been a twat.

I assume he doesn't want the cocaine to taint what people think of her or remember her by, plus he doesn't actually know if she had taken any that night so drugs may not necessarily appear in the report as far as Max is concerned.

I liked the episode but can appreciate why people were disappointed. Tbh, death aftermaths on EE always have a similar tone to them. I imagine we'll see the reactions of Amy and Ricky tomorrow, which I can picture being heartbreaking.

I liked how we saw the news slowly make its way around the square - most importantly in a realistic fashion with people reacting how you'd expect them to in real life.

I must say there was something quite special about having some of the aftermath scenes on location. Usually I associate death aftermaths with the familiarity of the square, so this had a different feel to it and I liked it. Definitely helps that you can contrast it with the grand shots of the building and the general cinematography that we saw yesterday.
Take a shot every time Michelle refers to Pauline *.*

If I'm being honest, as much as I like her and the character, I was unsure what to expect from Glynis/Glenda when it came to emotional scenes, but she was spot on tonight.

I was hoping to see more of Jack telling the kids about Ronnie and Roxy, but I appreciate there's only so much you can ask of child actors, no matter how good they may be.

Just finished watching it, as I forgot its Tuesday today, anyhow, the ending was very sad, especially with Amy, she is just a good child actor for her age. Even Glenda was spot on, I just hope Glenda and Danny will stick around for a fair bit.

Lee's story seems to be dragging, I just wish they speed it up a bit, really can't wait for him to go.

Why was everyone hiding the truth from Donna? She was the only one who gave a shit about Roxy whilst she was still alive. Odd for everyone to get cliquey over something like that.

And Mick is such a shit dad, it's unreal.

Glenda has been the only reaction which has been done right. Even the ending with the kids felt weird and flat. I think it's because I'm comparing it to the Beale reactions to Lucy's death - it just doesn't live up to that standard.
It kind of pisses me off how all the fans love Mick purely because he's Danny Dyer. The character is incredibly selfish and more or less hates all 4 of his children.

I agree, I am so fed up of the Carters in general tbh  They just have to be in EVERY episode, I know it felt a bit saturated with mourning for Ronnie and Roxy but I think if they just took out the usual Carter crap and used the time for actual reactions to the deaths from the wider family, the aftermath would have been so much better. I'm finding myself just wanting Lee to piss off at the minute. They announce these exits so far in advance, he's getting like Ronnie was towards in the end in that I'm fed up of him and it's just going round in circles. Hopefully once him and Babe are gone and it's only Mick, Johnny, Tina and Shirley for a bit they'll quieten down but I feel like the latter three are definitely due a story so that'll probably bring them back to the forefront before long.

I agree, it all definitely feels flat. It's weird because they seem to be focusing on the aftermath for 90% of the episode and yet at the same time still not focusing on it because they're leaving out crucial reactions. It just feels like the whole episode is the square ground to a standstill because of the deaths and while it is more realistic than them moving on and all being fine, it doesn't feel right that we haven't really properly seen reactions. It was so stupid with Donna, as has been said she was the only one who gave two hoots just before Roxy died, but she was shut out. As long as the Fowlers knew...

I think Mick's reaction to Lee's confession is pretty accurate really, he put his entire family in danger, most notably his baby brother. Having said that, I hope it doesn't get drawn out as long as his strop over Nancy causing Ollie's accident did, that was just stupid considering Mick's always made himself out to be such a family man. I'm intrigued to see how Lee leaves, and I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later I must admit, then I expect we'll see the Carters quieten down like you said Liam. Johnny, Tina and Shirley are basically supporting characters these days  (and Johnny has been ever since his return)

The aftermath was..... a mixed bag really. Jack telling the kids the news didn't feel quite as impactful as it should have but maybe we'll see more of the fallout tonight if Amy asks more questions? Not like he was particularly clear with why they won't be back. re. Donna, I think people just assumed that she knew already and was prying for gossip? It felt strange but I guess if she's busy working all day, she wouldn't have had a chance to find out.

Also I'm sure we'll agree that Danny has given award-worthy performances these past few days :)
