Christina Aguilera is hoping to make her acting debut in the new film about pin-up icon Jeanne Carmen.

Rumour has it that Aguilera has been added to the long list of ‘actresses’ hoping to make the role of Carmen their own.

Jeanne Carmen the best friend of Marilyn Monroe as well as a B-movie actress in the 1950’s, she starred in ‘Untamed Youth’ and ‘War Drums’ before leaving Hollywood for good after the death of Monroe.

Aguilera, an acting novice will be competing with the likes of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Scarlett Johansson for the role.

there has been sooo many movie role rumours, i wouldnt trust anything when it comes to movies and christina... :P

POP star Christina Aguilera is hoping to play 50s pin-up Jeanne Carmen in a biopic of her life.

 

The stunning singer has been short-listed alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones and Scarlett Johansson to land the saucy role.

 

Carmen, now 76, was known as the "queen of the B-movies" in the 50s.

 

The beautiful blonde actress, whose look was similar to screen legend Marilyn Monroe, starred in a host of low-budget films, including Untamed Youth and The Three Outlaws.

 

Carmen had an intriguing personal life too.

 

She was friends with Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, US President John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe.

 

Sounds like a brilliant role, but it may be too big for her debut if you ask me... and CZJ is after it, so Xtina may not stand a chance...

I hope this is not true, I think Christina should stick to the music i couldnt really defend her if its as bad as some other singers films (britney,mariah).

I think the video is amazing but it proves she should just stick to singing!
