October 5, 200618 yr Author Ashley has an album coming out?! :o  Ive heard the 'Under The Sea' song she did  Yer "Kiss The Girl" from The Little Mermaid DVD yep shes recording her album right now on the same label as Vanessa This is what Ashley said about it "My album is out in January in the US. It's different from High School Musical, with edgy pop tracks as I'm trying to appeal to an older audience."
October 5, 200618 yr This album is fantastic, very hig standard and was very shocked, I was expecting a Hilary Duff type of album, some good songs, some pretty naf ones, but this album is exremely well done! Drive/Promise/Lets Dance/Whatever Will Be are all fantastic. As for Ashley didnt like her in HSM but her Kiss The Girl is pretty good, I shall jjudge after the first single :)

October 6, 200618 yr Author Kiss The Girl is very good, but it will be interesting to see what musical direction she ends up taking, Im thinking she is Disney's new Hilary Duff... :( never liked Hilary Duff dont know why either as i like Vanessa and Ashley and i suppose theyre all quite similar musically....
October 7, 200618 yr I think Vanessa is the most diverse of the 3, although Hilary seems to be taking a new direction with hew album... Vanessa is superior when it comes to vocal ability, as showcased by her stuff on HSM and on V, but I think she will be the smallest seller of the 3. I hope she can get some success over her when she releases Come Back To Me in November. I would also imagine that she will release her 2nd single both sides of teh Atlantic prior to her UK album release, the second single is rumoured to be Let Go

October 9, 200618 yr Author V Album Review :D :P 1 "Come Back to Me" The Album starts off with the debut single "Come Back To Me", this is a bit of a grower and has a great chorus that is the best part of the song 9/10 2 "Let Go" We then move onto the next song and rumoured second single "Let Go" very funky song which is much more basey and showcases Vanessa's vocals well :D 9/10 3 "Say OK" First ballad of the album and it isn't a letdown Vanessa's soft vocals and beat makes this song very enjoyable 8/10 4 "Never Underestimate a Girl" One of my fav songs on the album a masterpiece pop song which should be a single 10/10!!! 5 "Let's Dance" This song mainly relies on the beat to carry it as Vanessa voice frequently falls below the music but the funkyness of this track makes it very infectious 7/10 6 "Drive" My other favourite of the album its simplicity makes it stand out and the big chorus makes it probably the best song on the album 10/10 7 "Afraid" The second ballad off the album is "Afraid" where Vanessa shows alot of emotion through her vocals 8/10 8 "Promise" very funky pop song where Vanessa sings about always being her own person, this song will have you singing along in no time 9/10 9 "Whatever Will Be" Vanessa covers Tammin Sursoks single "Whatever Will Be" next. Ive always loved this ballad and the lyrics makes the song special and Vanessa does a great cover 9/10 10 "Rather Be With You" then comes the rock pop song "Rather Be With You" wich sounds like its come off a Hilary Duff album but is actually a very good album track 7/10 11 "Psychic" probably the most disappointing song on the album gets boring very quickly 5.5/10 12 "Lose Your Love" and to end the album is the song "Lose Your Love" Vanessa's simple vocals on this track doesn't help it match up to much of the album but this song is a grower 7/10 Edited October 9, 200618 yr by slimjim

October 10, 200618 yr Here's my review (did it early) Title: V Artist: Vanessa Hudgens Release Date: 26/9/06 Genre: Pop/RnB Cover http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f344/kellyfan05/Vcover1.jpg Videos [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3dBuqXqpLs.swf Review 1. Come Back To Me (Baby Come Back) - The lead single and a perfect way to kick start the album. This song is funky and energetic with a great beat that just makes you want to dance. The vocals on this track are crisp and to the point, and is a really vibrant lead single. This deserves to be a huge hit. 9/10 2. Let Go - A fantastic way to start of the album in terms of material we haven't heard before. This is most likely to be the second single and its easy to relate too. Not quite as strong as the first track on the album but a good effort all the same. If you liked the first single, then you'll be sure to love this one too. 8/10 3. Say Ok - Vanessa gets into ballad mode with this perfect track. Talking about the hardships of finding the right person, Say Ok is a beautiful track that many people will be able to relate too. Vanessa's soft vocals fulfil this track perfectly as it instantly becomes an album highlight. 9/10 4. Never Underestimate A Girl - I have to admit, this wasn't one of my favourite tracks on the album when I first hear it. I felt it was something that had been done before, and really was quite bland. Upon giving it a few more listens I can clearly say its a bit more innovative than I though, but is still one of the boring moment on the album, if that can be said about this album. Some interesting instrument choices, but all in all, an oaky song. 7/10 5. Let's Dance - This is a great track and something very similar to the lead single. An infectious beat lies under this track and is certain to make you want to dance. However, her vocals do get drowned out at times by the music, but in essence this is an RnB flavoured track that is aimed at making you want to dance, and well it certainlly does that. 8/10 6. Drive - My personal favourite on this album. The track starts of quite mellow, and sounds like something you might find on a Hilary Duff or Ashlee Simpson CD, and why some may think that sounds horrific, I dont see it being bad. However, once the chorus kicks it the song is really off. The lyrics can be at times, somewhat cliched, but the melody to the chorus is gorgeous and completes its aim of trying to get stuck in your head. 9.5/10 7. Afraid - The 2nd ballad on this album. This track isn't quite as strong as the first ballad, Say Ok, but is a song that most people are going to be able to relate to. Its something quite innovative as its being taken from someone who is quite young's perspective, something that hasn't been seen in music many times before. 8/10 8. Promise - I wasn't quite sure what to make of this at first. From its Mariah Carey reference "Like MC - Shake It Off" I felt it was going to be a bit cheesy and a bit too commercialised from Disney's perspective. However, this track is pretty catchy and its chorus is what really saves this track from being the worst track on the album. In its entirety, a good song, but not as strong as some of the formers. 8/10 9. Whatever Will Be - The first cover song on the album, and what a choice. I have to admit, I hadn't heard this song before, so didn't realise at first that this was a cover, but what a beautiful and emotional song this is. She really puts her emotions and feelings on the line here and you can tell she truely connects with the song, something you feel she lacks at time prior to this. 9/10 10. Rather Be With You - The first Pop/Rock track found on the album, and you can tell shes really trying to channel Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne. Whilst not being as good a track as either of the two mentioned have ever really put out, Rather Be With You is a solid effort and shows life towards the end of the tunnel in this album. 8/10 11. Psychic - This RnB flavoured track is the worst track on the album. Its not bad by any means, although that doesnt make it good. Its an average track and quite fillerish. It wouldnt be missed on this album at all, and at times really stands out as being very different for the wrong reasons. Soft vocals accompany this track however and there is good use of tembre. 6/10 12. Lose Your Love - Not the stand out track it could have been, but helps to bring the album to a close. There are some soft and mellow vocals on this track, that really allow Vanessa to show the diversity of this track, but a fairly weak melody brings this track down. 7/10 Conclusion - Overall, a very strong debut effort from Vanessa Hudgens who shows versatility and allows the V for Variety to really show. Shes got alot of different genres of music on this single disk, maybe at times there are too many, and for her next effort she should maybe stick to her stronger genres of Pop influenced RnB and Rock influence Pop. This album sets her out against the rest of her Disney allum, such as Hilary Duff, mainly due to her strong and powerful voice that shines on this album. A real stand out ballad wouldn't have gone a miss, but the current ballads are perfect as they are.
