February 25, 20178 yr 2IzPrOp2VjU Tayanna was my favourite although she wasn't as high a priority as she was for others, compare I Love You to Where I Am, the latter's melody is so much stronger whereas I Love You was more of a vocal gymnastic exercise. This is very good for its genre, love the staging - although I preferred the staging from the semi-final even more as it had more shocking-ness. I imagine the EBU let them know it wouldn't be allowed at Eurovision though so they've changed it nice and early and they've come up with another good concept. If we had to have a rock song, and apparently we do have to have one every year, then I'm happy for this to be the one this year!
February 27, 20178 yr If we had to have a rock song, and apparently we do have to have one every year, then I'm happy for this to be the one this year! Damn right! The minute I started listening to it, I came to this thread expecting you'd say something about that - and best of all, this one is guaranteed to be in the final. I naturally love it, those guitar crunches are BEAUT.
March 1, 20178 yr Hm, probably one of my favs right now. And This is very good for its genre, love the staging - although I preferred the staging from the semi-final even more as it had more shocking-ness. March 1, 20178 yr In his semi-final performance there was like a simulated gunshot on the lead singer resulting in fake blood. While it added an extra shock factor to the performance which I liked, I'm not sure the EBU would see it as family friendly TV. The emphasis on the LED clocks in the final performance makes for a much more suitable performance!
March 1, 20178 yr In his semi-final performance there was like a simulated gunshot on the lead singer resulting in fake blood. Woah, nice! I should find that performance, it'd be better with jury comments. The emphasis on the LED clocks in the final performance makes for a much more suitable performance! Yeah, for sure, cuz the gunshot looks pretty strong but at the same time it kinda touches wrong strings as they're Ukrainian performers (imo). Clocks add smth like pressure into it, there's always some kind of tension about things related to time flow.
March 1, 20178 yr This is the semi-final performance with jury comments too, the actual performance starts 1:50 in: HVY-CWt5fOM But yes the time thing suits a Eurovision performance well, especially with the "3 minute" rule being so well-known in regards to Eurovision it's good how it plays on that. A little bit like when Nadav included a nod to it in 'Golden Boy'!
March 1, 20178 yr Thank you so much Ryan! What's rly interesting - in 2015 I gave a F about Nadav's performance as I hated the song so much; now if it'd participate I probably give some points to it. :D just decided to check this 'nod' cuz I couldn't remember any details, like blank list in my head.
