I think it's because she's still seen as "cool" and as being a relevant figure in the music industry, despite her floppage.

I like that radio 1 try and develop artists they like/believe in rather than jump on board only XF artists.
She still had two top 10s last era, let's not forget!

 

She's still only 24 years old as well.
