The Money In The Bank matches are taking shape now, I'm looking forward to both of them. L.A Knight will probably win the men's match and as for the women's match that one is hard to call but it would be nice if Iyo Sky won it. The winners of those matches can cash-in on any championship not just the world championships.

Iyo should win in the women's MITB but I have a feeling they'll do Becky cause its one of those things she hasn't won yet. I'd rather her not though and could see a viable reason she won't with Trish getting involved.

Asuka got a new title on Smackdown on Friday night

If they're doing that, then one would think on raw we'll see the same with Rhea.

Happened on Friday nights episode :P

Bianca heel turn incoming.

Kurt Angle commented on the best women’s wrestlers in the business right now…

“She’s (Mercedes Mone) a good one to pick. That would be my favorite female (outside of WWE). Listen, I love Charlotte Flair. I think she’s the best of all time. I actually think she’s the best wrestler in the world overall, I really do.

I think Charlotte Flair has had more consistent five-star matches than any other person. She is really, really good. But Sasha Banks, Mercedes, she’s awesome too

My guess is that they will give the red belt that Asuka had to Rhea Ripley and the blue belt will get retired, that would make the most sense anyway. Looks like Asuka's title reign could already be in jeopardy with Charlotte Flair coming back and immediately challenging her for the title. Normally it doesn't take long for Charlotte to add to her list of title reigns when things like this happen.

The WWE corporate answer is Charlotte.

Ain't NO WAY she's had more "5 star matches" than Sasha/Mercedes lmao. 80% of Charlotte's 5 star matches were with Sasha! Sasha has had classics with Charlotte (multiple), Bayley (multiple), Becky (multiple), Asuka (multiple), Bianca, Ronda, KAIRI, AZM, Hazuki, Mayu Iwatani, Stephanie Vaquer (yes those last 5are NJPW/STARDOM ones but STILL). She's also given 95% of that roster (that she's actually locked up with) their best matches (Ronda, Nia (multiple) & Carmella being the biggest examples)

Zelina Vega is clearly winning the women’s MITB

Roman Reigns has just been pinned for the first time in over 3 years! This surely sets up Jey Uso as the next challenger for the title and he's got to win after doing what he's just done. Money In The Bank as a whole was a fun show as I knew it would be and the UK crowd were on fire throughout the show.
I have seen the results but not watched the show yet. Some interesting developments though or continued to be in the case of the Bloodline! I'm happy Iyo won the women's MITB as she should!

Off topic but we were listening to Evanescence Fallen album tonight and just noticed Christian Cage's TNA theme especially sounds identical to Evanescence's 'My Last Breath' :o

Something I learnt today!

^

That is interesting. Christian Cage's theme must be based off the Evanescence song. It's like how one of Victoria's themes in WWE was based of All The Things She Said by Tatu.

My Summerslam ratings

Logan/Riccochet - 8/10 - was enjoyable but I wish they'd stop feeding Logan Paul on us.

Cody/Brock - 6/10 - fine for the story told and the unplanned handshake after the match was a good touch from Brock but personally not too interesting for me but still above average.

Battle Royal - 5.5/10 - battle royals are fun but I wasn't too interested in it since we knew LA Knight was winning and good for him to get a big win after all this promised push, although he is a bit overrated for me too.

Ronda/Shayna - 2.5/10 - Basically the right woman won and whilst it wasn't awful, had some semi fine bits but very sluggish and not gripping enough and well it's a Ronda style match in 2023, nah.

Gunther/Drew - 6/10 - was fine but could've been better tbh.

Rollins/Balor - 9.5/10 - the ending was a bit crap but a very strong match overall!

Asuka/Charlotte/Bianca - 9/10 - another very solid match, some good stuff in there apart from Bianca on the steps, eeesh.

Iyo cash in - 10/10 - well of course, she's a star!

Roman/Jey - 7/10 - did drag quite a lot unforch but some solid moments in this and Jimmy turning on Jey was eye roll worthy. So bored of the Bloodline angle, it never ends!!!! (I do think Jimmy isn't necessarily rejoining Roman and co though and instead will be leading to a brother v brother feud while Roman gets a new challenger).

Overall rating 7.5/10

Terry Funk has passed away at the age of 79 :(

Shame to hear that!

Bray Wyatt has also passed away :o :( I know he had some medical issue which took him away from tv but bloody hell that's a massive shock and feels extremely surreal..

The Bray news is quite hard to take. None of the tweets seem real.

I wasn't the biggest fan of him but I always appreciated that he was such a creative genius. Like, legit one of the greatest creative minds in the history of wrestling. Extremely sad news :(

It's truly devastating news! :(

He was only 36 and still could have had a lot of life and a lot of wrestling left in him. I read that he died of a heart attack and the illness which kept him out of WWE since February was Covid which contributed to the fatal heart attack. It's crazy to think that when he returned at Extreme Rules last year that he would have less than a year to live and his only televised match since his return was against L.A Knight at the Royal Rumble. It's things like this that are a reminder that you never what is around the corner :(

Awful news to wake up to, really feel for his family.
It still hasn't really sunk in that Bray Wyatt is gone. Of course it's sad whenever a wrestler passes away but it feels instinctively like it hits harder when it's a current member of the roster that passes away and it's not something that happens often either. It must be the first time in over a decade that a current WWE wrestler has passed away. I expect there to be a ten bell salute as a minimum for him on tonight's episode of Smackdown.
