Posted October 5, 200618 yr Dunnow if this is the right place to start a topic BUT... THIS GUY IS OVERATTED. Did his album seriously get to #1  If so it shows how much the uk is of a joke :puke2: His first song was $h!t, HE CANT SING. I heard his new song the other day and bloody hell. It's worst then any westlife song. WHY does he pull stupid angry faces when he sings, there not even big notes for gods sake  And why does he push his voice when he sings, it sounds vile and wrong and if his new song does really well I swear I will shoot him -_-
October 5, 200618 yr I think the actual major dilemna is how to spell Morrison / Morisson / Morrisson (sp?) :(
October 5, 200618 yr hmmm i really like him :) i think there are loads of other artists that are way overrated but still have success and i actually think his album is good ^_^

October 5, 200618 yr Author you like the fratellis, i like the pussycat dolls, but I've never said a word about how bad they are  but anyho, the topic is about James Morrison not the pussycat dolls, we have a forum for that you see :)
October 5, 200618 yr Well you can give your opinion on someone who writes and performs all his own material...
October 5, 200618 yr Author Well you can give your opinion on someone who writes and performs all his own material... Nicole (lead singer of the PCD) wrote most of the songs on the album :) (12 of em)
October 5, 200618 yr Well I was gonna say something along the lines of what Mark said but I won't reiterate. James Morisson is ONE MILLION times more talented that PCD, Anastacia, etc. His style isn't exactly commercial either so that's always respectable.
October 5, 200618 yr I have jsut bought James Morrisons album, and i am very pleased i did! the album is good!

Oh please... I'd be more worried if someone as obviously taste-free as yourself LIKED a talented singer/songwriter like James Morrison, actually...
October 5, 200618 yr His style isn't exactly commercial either so that's always respectable. what????? his style is totally commercial, just as commercial (perhaps even more commercial than) PCD and Anastacia!!! i dont like that new track of his, quite liked "You Give Me Something", it grew on me after a while...
October 6, 200618 yr what????? his style is totally commercial, just as commercial (perhaps even more commercial than) PCD and Anastacia!!! oh please..pick me up from the floor - I'm laughing too much.... :D :D :D :D :D :D
October 6, 200618 yr oh please..pick me up from the floor - I'm laughing too much.... :D :D :D :D :D :D it's exactly the same as Dido and James Blunt, both very commercial artists, it's very commercial music he's putting out, otherwise he would not have gotten a record contract with polydor the ridiculous amount of airplay he gets also shows how bloody commercial he is, i've heard "You Give Me Something" on the radio alot more than i've ever heard a PCD or Anastacia song on the radio, my local radio station (radio forth) was playing it on every programme last week! you cannot say that he "isn't exactly commercial" because he is VERY commercial (i hope some people will be able to see that) and on another point, just because someone is commercial, it doesnt mean they're any less respectable!
October 6, 200618 yr I don't think he has anything really special about him, but his voice is a lot less painful to listen to than say... James Blunt.

Yes and how many of these Dido, James Blunt acts do you ciculating the charts week in week out? Around 3 or 4 at BEST. The chart is constantly jam packed with the likes of PCD, Girls Aloud every bloody week. Same goes for the Anastacia's of the music industry. Maybe I reworded it wrongly but PCD, Anastacia are FAR more commercial. Upon creating their music (which is debatable) they had their target audience set out clear in their mind, and let me assure you it's a FAR bigger market than James Morisson's. Sure JM may be going down a path that is quite successful atm but it is always hit and miss down these roads. Gavin DeGraw anyone? Oh and yes in my books it DOES make them more respectable. It shows that they actually care about the music and have passion rather than just being a dummy of some massive corporation trying to make them the new plastic teeny band hoping to sell millions. Granted JM has sold bucket-loads but as I said in my original point it was a hell of a lot riskier going down his road than PCD's road.
