Over the past year or two it's become quite clear that hardly any of us seem to be buying anything anymore, now that many of us have made the move to streaming and buy a lot less music physically.

So do people still think this thread should exist (and accept that only three or four of us buy music each week now), should it take a different format (and if so what - obviously we won't all be mentioning every song that we stream, but could we mention albums/EPs as I tend to do, does anyone care?), or should it just be scrapped?

Anyway, for now, here are mine for this week:

Downloads

Pet Shop Boys - Say It To Me EP (yass at a Real Lies remix on the other remixes EP, may have to download that too, that BJSC relevance *.*)

Still Corners - Bad Country

Shotgun Fakes - Slow Motion

Not sure I'll be buying any albums but I'll stream AlunaGeorge, Sam Bailey, Usher, Laleh, Still Corners and Die Antwoord (on my soon to expire Apple Music subscription, seeing as it's not on Spotify for some reason). Tinie Tempah's album pushed back to January...oops, guess he really wants to lead it with a smash and not a song that missed the top 40!

I love seeing what people are buying each week so I'd be sad if this thread ever ended for good! I like the idea of encouraging chat about what people are hoping to stream over the week (although I don't tend to stream new albums or EPs before I buy, I'm old fashioned like that lol, so can't contribute there myself)

Albums

AlunaGeorge - I Remember

Downloads

Emeli Sandé - Hurts

Frank Pole - Anything (feat. Greyson Chance)

JoJo - Mad Love.

Linus Holm - Du var den

Tinashe - Company

Also received the Target exclusive editions of Ariana's Dangerous Woman and Troye's Blue Neighbourhood today courtesy of Joe :D

I've discovered a lot through this thread too over the years, perhaps it could be called 'Your chart contributions' instead and people can list whatever music they've been buying and anything that they've been streaming that they want to mention too, as it's all contributing to the chart. Obviously we're not all going to list every song but I do like seeing the albums and EPs people are listening to in particular.
I like that idea!! Keeps in line with the way the music industry is moving nowadays, would probably make more sense!

I have one small,suggestion for this thread;

Have a section called "Bargain Basement" or something like that and it's an area for those of us who take advantage often of the 59p discounts both for current music and older music. I don't buy music every week, but if it's a dance tune I've come to like, I like to own a copy of it so I might buy it at 59p on iTunes.

What do you think? :)

Cool, I'll make the change from next week.

I don't have time to check all the 59p releases/Google Play offers etc each week myself to list them but it's a great suggestion, if you or anybody else might be up for compiling a list to post in the thread?

I mainly use the thread just to list what I've been buying/streaming and see what others are buying/streaming but I always love when people post about special offers that they've bought as it has sometimes spurred me on to do the same.

I'm happy to check iTunes for offers, maybe create a weekly post with them in for you to copy from, but I don't know how to check Google Play, so I'd have to leave that to someone else.

I guess there are never really that many to list on Google Play so I wouldn't worry about that, they usually have a particular album priced at £1.99 and more offers around Xmas but they could be just posted as and when people see them if necessary.

Thank you for the iTunes offers contribution though, that would be great, I'd be happy to edit it into the opening post if you post the list in the thread or PM it to me (I'll add a credit to you for putting it together).

iTunes:

Twenty One Pilots - Cancer

James Arthur - Say You Won't Let Go

Gavin James - Nervous

Download singles - Stormzy Scary

Download albums - Skepta Konnichiwa

Grime fest this week lol

I keep forgetting to use this! I will post in it weekly, from now on, though.

Downloads-

- Calvin Harris - My Way

- Giggs ft Donaeo - Lock Doh

- The other version of James Arthur - Say You Won't Let Go

I'd like the thread to continue because I think that personally I'm buying / downloading more these days due to having money to afford it  With sales declining and streaming dominating, I feel the want to support the songs I REALLY love by giving them a paid sale

Added a couple of downloads:

Still Corners - Bad Country

Shotgun Fakes - Slow Motion

Bad Country is really very good, their best song since Fireflies imo <3 It's like an electronic post-Brexit anthem to the melody of Paula Cole's Where Have All The Cowboys Gone! And Shotgun Fakes is the lead singer of The Arrows, covering an old album track by The Arrows but with 2016 production *.*

Albums CD -

Ghosts Of Our Former Selves - The Glass

Downloads -

Emeli Sande - Hurts
