Marie Antoinette with an American accent, yeah, cos THAT's gonna work...... Is there a shortage of young English-speaking French actresses to play the role..... <_<

well i suppose its the same as the Memoirs of a Geisha thing, with the Chinese actrors playing the Japanese parts.

like the japanese and chinese who kinda hate each other anyway, the french were not to please and so booed it at cannes.

but then again i suppose like Geisha, seeing it is in the American language  anyway and not in French does it really matter that the lead is very Germanic with a touch of Swede.

Kirsten Dunst is neither German nor Swedish though mate, she's born and bred in the USA; I get kinda sick of these bloody Yanks who go on about being just about every nationality other than American....

Whether it's in French or not is really irrelevant, a bit of authenticity is surely not too much to ask is it...? Plenty of French actresses to choose from, how typical for Hollywood to choose an American.... Besides, I cant very well slag off "Memoirs of a Geisha" for using Chinese actresses and less this one pass can I....?

well thats the American way! think the only kinda time that American's dont put another nationality in front of their description is when they are either English

or when they are canadian, with in this case they stick the word great before and the word comedian afterwards

fyi: Klaus is the German and Inez is the Swede (yes thats right Keersten's mum is a turnip!!!  )

what an odd upscale accent RC had for that role, probs weirder than evberybody in that allo allo thing. he's a total antipodian larrikin/Russell Coight type thru and thru and should keep away from posh brit roles
