It's going to be really interesting to see how it reflects the official chart when Xmas Day next falls on a Wednesday and Thursday, even a bit more interesting this year as Xmas Day is on the third day of the chart week compared to the first last year.

One Dance is up to 999,757,359 global streams as of today, meaning that it'll be the first song to cross a billion Spotify streams tomorrow. Crazy part is that it's still top 15 on the global chart..

I genuinely don't think we'll ever see anything like that again. I mean, since then there's been no song getting even close to ten weeks, let alone 15 weeks ─ and its longevity is INSANE. Quite amazing, it'll probably be decades in the future if we ever do see a song dominate so much.

I think I disagree with you there mdh. All it takes a monster collab (Drake,Rihanna,Chainsmokers etc).

One Dance really does seem like a once-in-a-generation type success though, it's incredible how well it's done worldwide and of course getting 15 weeks in the UK is no easy feat.

I consider this year as the first real year streaming began to dominate with the change in releases and you always find it effects the charts in that way - same with Umbrella in 2007 when CDs were at the end of their era and downloads finally began to dominate hence the 10 weeks!

Yep, and the year after Umbrella things started to move a bit quicker, I expect that with next year. Streaming habits are picking up in comparison to six months ago and I expect we'll see them get faster in 2017 - playlists are promoting loads of new songs and since theyre making an influence on people's listening habits, the charts will pick up on these new songs faster.
