Posted November 9, 20168 yr 9-z-vC31BWI Gabrielle has just released the official lyric video to her new song Miss You!
November 9, 20168 yr I said it in the iTunes thread, but I can't believe even she's jumped on the tropical bandwagon.
November 9, 20168 yr It does feel too generic for Gabrielle, and the tropical sound is very tired now. Is she still on a major label or is she independent now?
November 9, 20168 yr Author It does feel too generic for Gabrielle, and the tropical sound is very tired now. Is she still on a major label or is she independent now? As far as I know she is still signed to Parlophone for her albums but is releasing EP's through Never Fade
November 9, 20168 yr This is actually way better than anything on the last album! Really impressed
November 10, 20168 yr I'm disappointed really, mainly because I'm so BORED BORED BORED of this tropical house sound that literally everyone is copying. Both 'English Rain' and 'Light Up the Dark' are fab albums and I enjoyed the change in sound that the latter brought. The tune in this is nice but I wish there was a stronger and more distinctive production. Basically, I'm ready to move on from tropical house because we're currently left with everything sounding the exact same. I feel like, now more than ever, music is being created to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
November 11, 20168 yr Really like this. Always liked her music as she has a brilliant voice. Very different from her usual sound though!
November 12, 20168 yr I really like this. Much better than anything from her last album. I've preordered the CD single from her website.
November 28, 20168 yr I have never really taken much notice of Gabrielle much despite quite enjoying 'The Power of Love' and 'Please Don't Say You Love Me' but this is by far the best thing she's done yet, feels really fresh and exciting whereas on her other tracks it's her voice that shines rather than how good the song itself is. Definitely interested in hearing more from this era now based on this, shame it's very, very unlikely that this will became a hit in any way :(
December 18, 20168 yr This has actually really grown on me now that I've made myself get over my grudge and listen to it a few more times. It's actually quite fantastic and I love the lyrics in it, how she gets so overexcited just by him saying 'miss you'. Need to listen to the other two songs now.
December 18, 20168 yr I've done a turnaround on it as well. I think her jumping on the tropical sound was so much of an initial shock and perhaps disappointment that I didn't give it a proper chance but I have been listening to it over the past couple of weeks and really appreciate it now. I'd probably only rank it behind The Power of Love, Please Don't Say You Love Me and Home in her singles discography now.
