Slightly lower down in the chart, Keyshia Cole jumps 9-4 in her track, Love's 6th week on the chart. Entries in the 11-20 area come from Britney Spears, Kelis, Prince, and Elena Risteska. Britney Spears enters at number 11 with her track, And Then We Kiss, making it her highest charting single on Tyron's Smash Hits Chart since Everytime reached #1 for 5 weeks in June 2004. Kelis enters at #13 with her first single from her upcoming album, Kelis Was Here, named Bossy. This is her first charting single since she reached #4 with 'In Public' last year with her husband, NaS. Shakira jumps 40-15 with Hips Don't Lie. Her previous high came with Don't Bother, which made #2 in early February, but was prevented from reaching number 1 by The Raconteurs. Her highest charting single to date is Whenever, Wherever, which held the top spot for 4 weeks in 2002, and finished 2nd in the Year End Charts of 2002. Prince debuts with Beautiful, Loved & Blessed, in which he teams up with protege Tamar, which lands safely at #17. And finally, landing at #20 comes Macedonia's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest, Elena Risteska, with Ninanajna. This is her first entry in my chart, but other Eurovision songs have acheived success in the charts - most notably Jessica Garlick and Javine. Jessica reigned at number one for 4 weeks with Come Back in 2002, following her 3rd place finishing in that year's contest, and Javine reigned for 2 weeks with Touch My Fire, which finished a disappointing 22nd in the actual contest. :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Orson - No Tomorrow (13/2/06-26/2/06) 2 weeks 4 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (27/2/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-?) 1+ weeks Edited October 25, 200717 yr by Ashron

However, for the first time ever, the number one and number two tracks share the same name as Keyshia Cole rises 4-2 with her R&B ballad Love, which misses out on number one by 3 plays, the closest margin since 2005, when Mariah Carey's We Belong Together stopped 2Pac feat. Elton John from returning to number one with Ghetto Gospel by 2 plays. At number three comes another riser, LL Cool J feat. Jennifer Lopez, rising 8-3 with Control Myself, becoming his highest charting single since Hush made number 6 last year. However, LL Cool J's highest charting single ever was Ain't Nobody was number one for two weeks in March 1997, which was also my second number one ^_^. Slightly further down, Shakira climbs 15-5, with a little help from Wyclef Jean, who collaborates with her on her new single Hips Don't Lie. Can this beat the number two peak of her previous single, Don't Bother? And slightly further down at number 10 comes the largest climb of the year so far, a 29 place 39-10 climb from Orson, who score their second top 10 hit with Bright Idea. Can this emulate the success of No Tomorrow, which made number one for two weeks in February? The 11-20 area sees 3 new entries from Infernal, Chris Brown and Christina Milian. At number 14 comes the debut single from Danish dance act Infernal, with Paris To Berlin. Could this herald a return for dance music in the charts? The last golden age of dance music resulted in number ones for Erik Prydz and Uniting Nations in 2004. Since then, dance music has had limited success, with Hi-Tack and Meck scoring the biggest success since then, both reaching peaks of number 3 in January this year. At number 17 comes the second single from Chris Brown with Yo (Excuse Me Miss), who reached number two with his last hit, Run It!. The young Virginian entered at number 17 with that song in November 2005 - could this song better the heights of that one? At number 18 comes the return of a familiar face, Christina Milian, who so far has had two number ones on this chart, with Dip It Low in April 2004, and When You Look At Me in March 2002. Could her new track, Say I become her third number one on my chart? :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-?) 2+ weeks Edited October 7, 200618 yr by Betty's Messenger

This is Busta Rhymes' biggest hit to date, with his previous high being his collaboration with Mariah Carey on I Know What You Want which reached number 2 in June 2003. However, he did reach number one for 4 weeks last year featuring on Don't Cha by the Pussycat Dolls. T-Pain registers his first single on the charts with I'm Sprung. Keep an eye out for his next single, I'm In Luv (Wit A Stripper), currently bubbling under at number 46. Infernal, the Danish dance act rise 14-9 with their catchy Eurodance song From Paris To Berlin. From 11-20 come 2 new entries from Beatfreekz and Rihanna. Rihanna charts at number 15 with Unfaithful, the second single from her new album A Girl Like Me. The young Bajan singer has so far scored 2 number ones and a top ten hit - Pon De Replay and SOS both made number one for a week, and If It's Lovin' That You Want made number 9 in November 2005. :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-?) 1+ weeks Edited October 18, 200618 yr by Betty's Messenger

Many high falls and jumps are present in this weeks chart, which is absent of high new entries, with the highest new entry coming at number 18 from The Pussycat Dolls feat. Timbaland. LL Cool J ascends 4-2, leaving him in striking position for next weeks number one spot. His only number one to date is Ain't Nobody which spent two weeks at the summit in March 1997, which was also coincidentally my second number one. Shakira stays at number 3 with the tangy Hips Don't Lie. Infernal rise again, 9-5, to register their first ever top 5 hit, and Rihanna rises 15-6 to seal her 4th top ten hit in the space of 9 months, with Unfaithful, hoping to follow in the number one footsteps of S.O.S (Rescue Me), which this week makes a dramatic 34-1 jump on the Billboard Hot 100, and Pon De Replay, which spent 3 non-consecutive weeks at number one last year. At number 7 comes a 33-7 rise from Cascada, a German/English techno-trance group which charts with their hit Everytime We Touch. Also making a large jump from the lower echelons of the chart is Daz Sampson, which jumps 25-10 in the run-up to Eurovision, echoed by Elena Risteska with Ninanajna, which rises 27-14 as well. In the 11-20 area comes 3 jumps and one new entry, with the new entry from The Pussycat Dolls feat. Timbaland and the jumps from E-40, The Pussycat Dolls feat. Snoop Dogg and Mariah Carey feat. Snoop Dogg. The Pussycat Dolls register two new hits in the Top 20, with Wait A Minute looking like a possible future number one, and Buttons looking a flash in the pan. After their previous three singles making the top 5 (Don't Cha, number one September '05, 4 weeks, Stickwitu, number one October '05, 1 week, Beep, number 4 February '06, one week) The Pussycat Dolls poorly choose to release Buttons as their fourth single, over the far superior Wait A Minute, which would arguably have been a better choice for the third/fourth single. Mariah Carey finally releases Say Somethin' after roughly a year of speculation as to whether it would be released at all. That said, it is a good track, good enough to rise into the top 20 in the second week of its second chart run (it's first chart run lasted 6 weeks and peaked at number 18 in October 2005). :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-?) 1+ weeks Edited October 18, 200618 yr by Betty's Messenger

Krayzie Bone - Ridin' 40 (32) Shakira - Don't Bother Chart Commentary In an unprecedented feat, at the end of the week two acts are level on plays to claim the first ever joint number one. Both level on 73 plays at the end of the week, Infernal and LL Cool J both claim number one. By canon standards, Infernal should claim number one by climbing higher than LL Cool J (as controversially decided in 1990 in the official singles chart when Deee-Lite were denied a much deserved number one) but, liking both so much, I decided to break a rule or two in giving them a joint number one. This gives Infernal their first number one and LL his second on my chart. However, in compensation for the drawing shenanagins at number one, there is no official runner-up spot, but this can be claimed by Shakira, who stays steadfast at number three for the third week running. Missing out on gaining a new record with 66 plays, just 8 plays off number one, the Pet Shop Boys claim a new entry at number 4 with the fabulous I'm With Stupid. Just 7 more plays could have made the number one even more bizarre, although I feel that in the occurence of a three way tie, the Pet Shop Boys would have probably won out in the end due to their new entry status. However, watch this space - top ten entries in this chart usually end up at number one - the only recent exceptions are T-Pain, who drops to number 7 this week, but still stands a chance of claiming the number one spot, and Daz Sampson, who will almost certainly improve on his number 5 peak come the week of the Eurovision Song Contest. Over the past 4 years, all British entries have made number one for at least one week (yes, that includes Jemini and James Fox, sue me) and Daz looks likely to at least make the top 3, given the uniquity of this years entry. At number 5, Rihanna rises one place with the superb Unfaithful, a sweet ballad about cheating on your lover. Is there an oxymoron in there? You decide!. Just below at number 6 is Orson, who failed to match the two week peak of No Tomorrow with Bright Idea, which withered this week, falling from 68 plays to 46, and nearly matching the drop of Busta Rhymes last week. Don't say this isn't a fast moving chart. At number 10, Christina Milian makes Say I her fifth top 10 hit of her career, joining When You Look At Me, AM To PM, Dip It Low and Whatever You Want, two of which were number one hits. With Say I catchy enough to be a number one in its own right, expect this one in the upper upper echelons of the chart soon. In the 11-20 area of the chart comes three new entries and three 20-40 climbers. At number 14, Nelly Furtado makes a storming entry with her stomper, Maneater. Previous top 3 hits include Like A Bird and Powerless, the former a number one, the latter spending Christmas 2003 lodged at number 2 behind The Darkness. She also had a minor top 40 hit with Forca in 2004. At number 16 comes Poppin' My Collar, the follow-up to Stay Fly by Three 6 Mafia, which made number 2 in January 2005. At 17 comes a climb from T.I. with What You Know . T.I. is currently at number one with his album King in my album charts. Expect his U.K. release, Why You Wanna to chart soon - it is currently bubbling under at number 43. At 18 comes the fantastic Where'd You Go by Fort Minor feat. Holly Brook. Seeing as this song has already gained 14 plays since the cut-off point for this week's charts, you can expect it to be a sure-fire top 5 hit next week. At 19 comes a climb by the Chilis with Dani California. Can it beat the number 6 peaks of Californication and By The Way? Finally, at number 20 comes the follow-up to Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, Smiley Faces. Expect Go Go Gadget Gospel, my favourite track off the St. Elsewhere album, to join it soon. :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11 - LL Cool J feat. Well no, not really. I wouldn't place a bet on this one falling so quickly next week, as this track is easily one of my main favourites so far this year. What track am I talking about? My number one of course! Fort Minor register the highest ever rise to number one, jumping from the 18th spot last week to peak position this week and placing a record 132 plays to boot. And I'm STILL not tired of the song, so expect this one to be a hanger this time next week. At number 2 comes the relaunch into the top ten Daz Sampson has been dying for. In a week filled with Eurovision preparation, Daz received the most Eurovision plays. He may have disappointed, limping in at 19th in the actual contest, but Daz fails to disappoint in the Tyron1 Top 40. He beats his previous peak of number 5, but fails to match the number one peaks of Javine and Jessica Garlick. Even some international winners have fared better - Elena Paparizou, Ruslana and Sertab Erener all made number one with their winning songs - for 3, 4 and 2 weeks respectively. Staying at number 3 for the fourth week running, Shakira will be kicking herself after losing her best chance to date to claim number one with her truthful hips. Will she make number one, or even advance from number three? At number 7 comes another big number one drop - this one's from LL Cool J. The song's wearing off fast, and my chart is getting faster - I have a feeling Fort Minor are gonna put a stop to these absurd falls (which are of course entirely my fault ). Carola was robbed! After that great performance which should have gifted her a victory in Athens and a clincher for Stockholm, the least I could do was give her a top ten spot in my chart. But she SHOULD have joined Johnny Logan in that exclusive list of double winners. Oh well. At least she's won it before. Nelly Furtado rises 14-9 with her infectious stomper, Maneater and Elena Risteska rises into the top 10 with Ninanajna, which should have done better in Athens, deserving at least top ten! The 11-20 zone is filled with Eurovision entries and a new Li'l Jon track. At 14 comes what I thought was a surefire top 5 finisher which only managed 9th. Anna Vissi's power ballad, Everything, had a great performance, a rapturous reception (although that might have slightly been down the the small little fact she was on home ground) and everything going for her, but ultimately, it was the number 15 track that won the thing. Yes, Lordi chart at number 15 - slightly grudgingly. Although, that said, the 2nd and 3rd tracks were quite good - care of Dima Bilan for Russia and Hari Mata Hari for Bosnia and Herzegovina. They chart lower down in my chart, well deserving of their top 5 places in Athens. Ireland did well too, at number 16 (10th in the contest). Kudos Brian Kennedy, also behind the George Best tribute earlier this year. :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11 - LL Cool J feat. Kelis & will.i.am - I Love My B*tch 40 (20) E-40 feat. Keak Da Sneak - Tell Me When To Go Charts Commentary Fort Minor stand steadfast at number one with the first number one to last more than two weeks since Prince made the summit with Love for two weeks in April. The last song to stay longer than that (consecutively) was care of The Raconteurs, who stayed at the summit for 5 weeks from January to February. In turn, they took over from the 7 week reign of Mary J Blige who had reigned with Be Without You from late November up until then. The longest reign of all time in my chart goes to Prince again, who reigned at number one with Purple Rain for 19 weeks in 2001, which I consider to be the worst music year so far this decade. Prince held three of that years 13 number ones - he also held the top with Kiss (for 5 weeks) and The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (which lasted 6 weeks) - in doing so he did an Usher and held the top spot for over half of the year. The other reignees in 2001 were (in no particular order) Jennifer Lopez (Love Don't Cost A Thing, 2 weeks), Shaggy (It Wasn't Me, 1 week, Angel, 1 week), Daniel Bedingfield (I Gotta Get Thru This, 2 weeks, Xmas number one and another 3 weeks in 2002), So Solid Crew (21 Seconds To Go, 3 weeks), Kylie Minogue (I Can't Get You Out Of My Head, 4 weeks), Afroman (Because I Got High, 2 weeks), S Club 7 (Don't Stop Movin', 2 weeks), Janet Jackson (All For You, 3 weeks) and Alicia Keys (Fallin', 3 weeks). Anyway, back to the normal chart. Daz Sampson plummets 2-33 after I try to forget the (totally undeserved) dismal result in Athens, and Shakira finally ascends from the number three spot to number two after 4 weeks in the same position. Carola and Anna Vissi both rise the week after Eurovision due to their pure greatness. They're both great - Invincible is a slice of pure pop and Everything is a wonderful power ballad. Both should have come top 5 and Carola should have won! I have to say that Sweden is probably my favourite overall foreign country - I ♥ Lena Philipsson! In fact, in 2004 she reached number 1 for 4 weeks in the lead up to the contest with It Hurts. Elena Paparizou rises 28-7 with her catchy new tune Mambo, which looks certain to be a future number one. Dima Bilan also rises 29-9 after my realisation of what a tune Never Let You Go was. Gnarls Barkley follow up Crazy with another top ten hit in the shape of Go Go Gadget Gospel, my favourite song off the album St. Elsewhere. At 11 comes a wonderful song from Texas Lightning, which technically rises 42-11, but as this is a top 40, this is classified as a new entry. I personally am kicking myself for not noticing this before. This and Alvedansen (because I can't be bothered to type out that overexcessively long name again at 11:34 in the evening) which enters at 14. Due to it's unexpected rise to number one in America, Chamillionaire rises to a new peak with Ridin', jumping from 30-15. This kind of thing is not uncommon - artists such as Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Mariah Carey received similar benefits after topping the charts stateside. Similar benefits also come from releases of singles - following its CD release, Prince re-enters with Fury at number 16, which made number two in early April. However, I doubt it will emulate the same amount of success in the UK Singles Charts. Following her surprise failure at Athens, Kate Ryan enters at number 17. Je T'Adore this song! Ciara and Field Mob rise 27-18 with So What. Field Mob have had only one previous hit - Georgia reached number 4 in November 2005 with the assistance of Ludacris and the ever-reliable Ray Charles impersonator, Jamie Foxx. the same cannot be said for Ciara, who has had several number ones - Goodies reigned for 6 weeks in December 2004/January/February 2005, and its follow-up, 1 2 Step reached number one two weeks later and stayed there for 5 weeks from February to April. Oh reached number one for 2 weeks in July 2005 and And I reached number one for 1 week in August 2005. Also, Ciara featured on Missy Elliott's number one hit, Lose Control, which took over from 1 2 Step and reigned for three weeks. Jack Johnson charts at number 19 with Upside Down. This peak is only bettered by Better Together, which peaked at number 8 in January 2005. :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11 - LL Cool J feat. In the end, it was somewhat of a close run thing, with a four way tie starting up from Tuesday, which lasted a day until Elena Paparizou began to lag behind on plays. Then a three way tie started up and lasted until 10:30 this morning, when Rihanna pulled ahead by 2 plays. However, by lunchtime, the tide was turning, and it looked like we'd have a third week with Fort Minor on top. However, at 4 this afternoon, Carola raced forward and lasted until the cut-off time of 6:00, finishing with 96 plays. Just behind with 93 plays is Fort Minor, and Rihanna is 3rd with 87 plays, with Elena Paparizou finishing 4th with 76 plays. So, Elena Paparizou secures her 2nd top 5 hit, just over a year after she scored her first one. Mambo is one of those great little tracks which can get you dancing even when you're in a bad mood. Take a listen if you haven't already! Sandi Thom is undoubtedly going to be one of the biggest new artists of 2006. With her infectious track, I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker, set to climb to number one in the official UK Singles Chart, she debuts at number 5 in my chart, with a view to making number one at some point in the near future. Nelly Furtado climbs 8-6 with Maneater, with Promiscuous, her collaboration with Timbaland, replacing the spot where she was last week, making Nelly the first artist to have two tracks in the top 10 since Prince, when he did the same, except with 3 tracks, at the end of April. At number 7 comes the Ordinary Boys mix of Lady Sovereign's version of 9 To 5, renamed Nine2Five for this version. This follows up Boys Will Be Boys, which peaked at number 4 in January. At 9, Shakira disappoints after falling from number 2. She must be kicking herself for not taking advantage all those weeks she was stuck at number 3. Then again, as I said last week, this is completely my fault, so I can't really complain. Climbing back into the top ten after a four week hiatus, Prince benefits from the CD release of Fury. Well, and the CD having a cool cover! Can Fury beat it's previous peak of number 2 in April? In the 11-20 area comes 5 tracks worthy of mention. First up at bat comes Christina Milian, who unfortunately couldn't stump up enough energy to make it further than number 6, unable (so far) to match the peak of it's predecessors which reached number one - When You Look At Me and Dip It Low. Second up comes a climb from Nerina Pallot, who registers her first top 20 hit with Everybody's Gone To War, which has been lingering around the lower reaches of my chart for a few weeks now. Third comes T-Pain, who registers his second top 20 hit after the number 4 peak of I'm Sprung a couple of weeks ago. Fourth comes a new entry from P!nk, with one of the best tracks off I'm Not Dead, Dear Mr. President. Finally comes a climb from the Scissor Sisters with Everybody Wants The Same Thing. Although not available for release for a few months, it's performance at Live 8 nearly a year ago is good enough to merit this infectious track a top 20 hit. Whether it can follow up the number ones of Laura (2 weeks), Mary (2 weeks), Take Your Mama Out (1 week) and Filthy/Gorgeous (3 weeks, 2004 Xmas number one - and probably the oddest Xmas number one I've ever had) is yet to be seen. :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11 - LL Cool J feat. Black Eyed Peas - Mas Que Nada Charts Commentary She does it! Elena Paparizou has Mamboed to the top to secure her second number one, almost exactly a year after her last one! I have already raved about how good this track is, so I'll just let you judge for yourselves on this one. This makes it the first time since November that an all-female artist/group has taken over from another all-female artist/group. Then, Mary J Blige started her seven week reign up top with Be Without You, taking over from 2005's sixth most played track, Hung Up by Mrs. Pop Queen herself, Madonna. One song you may not have heard yet belongs to Colorado rock band The Fray. Over My Head (Cable Car) is a great little tune you'll be humming to yourself without realising it. Listen to it - I guarantee it'll be a hit for people who like artists such as Keane or Coldplay. Nelly Furtado continues her slow ascent up the chart, landing this week at 4 with Maneater and 6 with Promiscuous. Could her new entry on the YTD chart be a sign of things to come? Field Mob and Ciara rise into the top ten with the infectious 'So What?', as does Chamillionaire. :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11 - LL Cool J feat. This of course means their play totals both add up to make a play total of 364, a record for number one. However, on their own, Promiscuous would have edged it, having 4 more plays due to having to stop Maneater halfway through and never quite getting back to it, so you chart purists may classify this week's number one being 'Promiscuous' with a total of 184 plays. The Fray climb up to number two with their great song, Cable Car. This finished with a total of 52 plays, far behind 'Maneater'. At number 7, I'm sure quite a lot of you weren't sure why I had ignored this for so long - rest assured, I'm now thinking the same thing. Monster zooms in at 7, giving The Automatic a second top 40 hit on my chart - Raoul made number 39 in February, staying there for a week and then disappearing. Je T'Adore this song, even a month after Eurovision! At number 8, Kate Ryan! Pity she was booted out at the semis - Belgium were robbed! At number 9, the Scissor Sisters claim their 5th top ten, in advance of their sophomore album, Ta-Dah. Who Knew P!nk would secure her 5th top ten? After Stupid Girls gave her a number 3 in January, advancing no further, can her second release make number one, following Just Like A Pill (1 week) and Get The Party Started (1 week)? Anna Vissi climbs back into the top 20 2 weeks after she plummeted out of it, falling 24 places from 5-29. Sergio Mendes, with a little help from the Black Eyed Peas climbs 23 places into the top 20. The Black Eyed Peas are no stranger to number ones - they've had 5! Where Is The Love? made number one for 5 weeks in 2003, only to be replaced at number one by Shut Up which stayed on top for 3 weeks, and then, in 2004, the PC-enforced renamed Let's Get Retarded It Started made number one for a week in February. After that, Don't Phunk With My Heart made number one for 3 weeks in February last year, and then My Humps made number one for three non-consecutive weeks in October 2005. Could Sergio benefit from their help? Also catapulting into the top 20 are Embrace, with the England theme follow-up to Nature's Law, which made number 6 in March. If England win, I can promise this will go top 3. Come on England! :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11 - LL Cool J feat. Not only that, but Shakira's hips have leaped back to their previous peak after 4 weeks. However, neither of these have the most attention this week. Yes, the most important track of the week is the one that sets the new entry record for this year - I am of course referring to the excellent Supermassive Black Hole by Muse, which enters at 3, breaking the previous entry record for this year, which was Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, which entered at number 4. The highest entry of all time goes to, yes, that man again, Prince, who entered at number 2 last year with Te Amo Corazon, who stayed there for 5 weeks but advanced no further. And, no track as of yet has immediately captured my imagination immediately enough to make number one in its first week. Watch this space. A few weeks after his last top ten in my chart comes Talahasee-Pain - that's T-Pain to you. He climbs 11-6 with that oh-so-odd track I'm In Luv With A Stripper. I really am slutting my musical tastes out these days, aren't I? Well, how often is it that two records are broken in the same week but AREN'T broken by the same song? Well, highest re-entry goes straight to those foxxy (or should that be catty?) Pussycat Dolls, who rebound at 8 with their Buttonz, with the strangely renamed Big Snoop Dogg helping them do them back up again. India.Arie secures her first top 20 hit with the rather eccentric I Am Not My Hair. She does this with a little help from a previously uncredited Akon, who has three top ten hits under his belt - Locked Up made number 4 last year, Lonely made number one for one week (less said about that the better) and Bonanza made number nine. Even a month after Eurovision, the hits keep on coming! The Ukrainian Tina Karol charts at number 15 with the catchy Show Me Your Love. And that is all 'till next week! :dancing: :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer: :dancing: 1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11 - LL Cool J feat. After her first chance at the jackpot failed when Fort Minor captured the crown a few weeks ago, she misses her second chance after Xtina cruelly snatches it from under her nose! And by 7 plays, Shakira must feel hard done by. In any case, she shouldn't feel too bad because Xtina's song really is magnificent. It's catchy, it's funky, the video is sexy - what more do you need for a classic hit?! This smash sends The Fray back to where they started from in the top ten. Other than Xtina, there really isn't much change in the top ten, apart from India.Arie's cool I Am Not My Hair, which jumps 13-6 and Tina Karol's catchy Show Me Your Love. Who would have thought Paris Hilton could sing? And with that she has a great little tune in Stars Are Blind which will undoubtedly be a big hit this summer. Outkast also score their fifth top twenty hit in The Mighty "O". Previous hits include Ms. Jackson (number 2 for 6 weeks in February/March 2001), Hey Ya (number 1 for 1 week in November 2003, and 2 weeks in January 2004), The Way You Move (number 1 for 2 weeks in March 2004), Roses (number 1 for 1 week in April 2004) and Ghettomusick (number 8 in July 2004). And finally, that young Virginian Chris Brown logs his third top twenty hit on my chart. Gimme That rises 28-15 to capture highest riser for the second week running, and eclipses his previous hit Yo! (Excuse Me Miss) which stalled at number 17 in late April. However, it has yet to beat Run It! which peaked at number two for a week in January, held off by The Raconteurs in their third week out of five at the top with Steady As She Goes. :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer:  1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11 - LL Cool J feat. I forgot to mention last week that this is her fourth number one on my chart - in '99 she scored a 3 week number one with 'Genie In A Bottle', followed up with a 3 week number one from 'Dirrty' in October '02, and a 2 week number one with 'Beautiful' in March '03. Having equalled Beautiful, can she equal and overtake Dirrty and Genie In A Bottle? Shakira stays in the runner-up spot for the third week running, making it 4 weeks overall in the runner-up spot for her. With her hips shaking their way to number one in the UK, could this success be echoed for her next week? India.Arie climbs 3 spots to complete the top 3, and Fort Minor climb to number 4 in their 8th week in the top 5 - interestingly, the only position they had not occupied in the top 5 up until now. Tina Karol climbs up 5 places to round out the top 5. Paris Hilton registers a top ten hit with current single Stars Are Blind, as does Lily Allen, possibly the hottest new star on the scene (not in terms of looks) by jumping 22 places from 32-10 with Smile. Nothing really new to report in the 11-20 area, apart from the disasters at 16 and 27...  :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer:  1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 week (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11 - LL Cool J feat. Black Eyed Peas - Mas Que Nada {6} Chart Commentary Xtina makes it 3 weeks at number 1 with Ain't No Other Man despite stiff competition from Outkast with The Mighty "O", a quirky song that has finally grown on me, which is obvious in its 11-2 jump. Another song that makes a rally is Unfaithful, by Rihanna, which surges 6-3. Gnarls Barkley secure their 3rd top ten hit with Smiley Faces which moves up 10 places from 18 to 8. Just below is the comeback single from Justin Timberlake, SexyBack, which is produced by Timbaland and is the first single taken from his upcoming album FutureSex/LoveSounds. Justin has had only two prior number ones - Cry Me A River, which spent a week at number one in 2002, and a week stint at number one featuring on Signs in May last year. Fergie of Black Eyed Peas fame bursts in at 14 with the first single taken from her first solo album The Dutchess, which references her namesake Sarah 'Fergie' Ferguson's royal title - The Duchess of York. Anyway, the actual song is rather good - London Bridge (Oh Sh*t!) is a stomping track constantly punctuated with cries of completely gratuitous swearing  . For any interested, the video is filmed in Woolwich Army Barracks ^_^ . Ciara makes another welcome to my chart. 2005 was truly Ciara's year, seeing as she achieved an amazing 5 number ones last year! Anyway, the song Get Up features Chamillionaire and is taken from the soundtrack to the movie Stand Up. :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer:  1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 weeks (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11/12 - LL Cool J feat. Ciara - So What? {6} Charts Commentary There may be changes in the colour coding of the songs, but as of yet, there is still no change at the top, with Xtina ruling the roost for the fourth week running, the longest true run at number one this year, as The Raconteurs were able to make the top on very low plays counts earlier this year due to many commitments - making the top on the back of 15/20 odd plays a week, in stark contrast to Xtina's 104 plays. By doing this, they had the official longest time at the top this year, staying up there for 5 weeks, despite breaking the worst play count record in their 4th week at the top, racking up only 14 plays. Anyway, back to Xtina. Seeing as most number ones in my chart only tend to stay at the top for a week or so, staying up for a month demonstrates real staying power, however I do have a slight feeling that Xtina won't stay up quite so long as to make it a month and a half, a feat which hasn't been achieved properly in quite a while, the closest in recent memory coming from when Ciara made 5 with Goodies earlier last year, making at least 75 plays each week. Mary J Blige stayed up for 7 late last year, however she did begin to dip into the 30s towards the latter half of her reign, and her last week at the top (also the first chart of the year) registered only 24 plays. Very few songs in my chart have stayed up top for longer than 6 weeks, and Xtina is the 198th number one in my chart, which has been going since 1997. So, back onto today's chart. Rihanna manages to break her peak and climbs up to 2 on the back of the release week, and Justin Timberlake zooms 9-3 with SexyBack, leaving him a top contender for the crown next week. Fort Minor register their tenth week inside the top 5, and the final member of the top 5 rockets back into the top ten on the back of a split. Nelly Furtado was originally registered as a double-A side in my chart, however, following a decline in the popularity of Maneater, I felt it impossible for them to continue jointly when Promiscuous was racking up so many plays in comparison to Maneater, which now languishes at number 30, having fallen 18 places. Promiscuous also rockets due to the fact it will be the next UK single from Loose, which climbs to number one in my album chart this week. After 15 weeks of uncertainty, Kelis finally climbs into the top ten with Bossy, her first single from her upcoming album, Kelis Was Here, which would have originally been called The Puppeteer. Hmm. Methinks a member of her record company wishes to make her seem more 'street'... In the 11-20 area, there are two climbers of note. First up at number 18 is Beyonce, with her ever-present boyfriend Jay-Z. Deja Vu is her 7th top 20 hit on my chart - she has had three number ones - all in 2003. Crazy In Love (3 weeks), Dangerously In Love 2 (3 weeks) and Baby Boy (2 weeks). Her other top 20 hits were Work It Out (number 7), Naughty Girl (number 12) and Check On It (number 3). At number 19 is a face I honestly thought I'd never see again - Eamon, famous for his swear-a-thon (F*ck It) I Don't Want You Back, which made number 2 in my chart, held off by Christina Milian with Dip It Low. :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer:  1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 weeks (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11/12 - LL Cool J feat. Timbaland also pulls off the rare feat of having two songs in the top 3, but with neither of the songs at number one. Prince pulled this off in April when Black Sweat was dethroned by Gnarls Barkley, and Fury climbed into the top 3 - the two songs then went on to occupy the top two the next week. Nelly Furtado advances 5-3, within striking distance of returning to number one with slick Promiscuous, and she also advances 35-20 with the next single from her brilliant album, Say It Right. Gnarls Barkley climb 8-5 to secure the second top 5 hit from their album St. Elsewhere, which incidentally climbs back into the top ten in the album charts this week. Fort Minor fall out of the top 5, but still enjoy their 11th week in the top 10, while Fergie and the Rogue Traders both climb into the top ten. Beyonce climbs to the edge of the top ten with Deja Vu, and Maria Lawson, Alesha, and Shakira all climb into the top 20. :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer:  1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 weeks (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11/12 - LL Cool J feat. However, form says that it is very unlikely she will make it 7 - although I did say that about her making 6 weeks a fortnight ago, so I am very prepared to eat humble pie once again. However, this Billboard-esque static-ness at the top doesn't make for a very exciting chart, with the top 3 unchanged. However, Xtina DOES pull into first place in the YTD chart after this wonderful 6 week flourish of hers. The Rogue Traders climb into fourth position with their wonderful stomper Voodoo Child, pushing Rihanna down to fifth. Beyonce, Nelly Furtado and Ciara all climb into the top ten - with Nelly Furtado having her current single and what looks like her third single in the top ten and Beyonce securing another top ten hit for herself. We FINALLY get a new entry in the top 20 care of the soulful James Morrison - keep an eye on this one next week - and we get climbs from Janet Jackson (with a little help from Nelly) and Cassie. Xtina makes it 7 weeks at the top, the longest since Mary J Blige did it with 'Be Without You' from November last year to January this year. However, for the last proper 7 week reign (i.e. decent play counts all the way through) you have to go back to 2004, where she takes over from herself! Yes, the last proper 7 week number one was Xtina's rendition of 'Car Wash' (helped out a little by Missy Elliott) which did so from October to November. However, that took over from another 7 week number one care of The Pirates, with their answer song 'You Should Really Know'. However, just below Xtina comes the second highest debut of the year (below Xtina of course...) which goes to the Scissor Sisters! Following the video release, what else could I do other than download this track? We last saw the Scissors at number 6 with 'Everybody Wants The Same Thing', which was assumed to be the first single release, however that made a quick charge out of the chart once it was revealed it wasn't to be. If anybody is going to take Xtina's crown next week, I'd place my bet on these lot. Justin and Nelly (both aided by Timbaland) are both unceremoniously bumped down a place to cater for the Scissors, and Beyonce moves up to 5 this week. Ciara and Nelly both climb to 6 & 7, and James Morrison jumps 8 places into the top ten. Fergie falls 6-9 and Rihanna falls 5 places to the edge of the top ten. Very little movement in the 11-20 area save the two jumpers at the bottom. Yes, I'm slightly embarrassed to have Ronan Keating in my top 20, but 'Iris' is such a good song it would probably go top 20 no matter who sung it. Just below are Orson with 'Happiness', a good track, but I doubt it's catchy enough to match the number one success of its predecessors 'No Tomorrow' and 'Bright Idea'. See you next week! :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer:  1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 weeks (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11/12 - LL Cool J feat. By Fergie!!! I assure you all, I counted up the plays/sales thrice to check if she really was number one, but Fergie has ousted Xtina by one play! :o There were only 3 plays between Fergie and Ciara at the foot of the top 5 - the Scissor Sisters and Nelly Furtado actually tied for third place, but a toss of the coin found the Scissor Sisters in third and Nelly in fourth. Well, after a surprise of these proportions, there's not much else to report on actually. Cascada and Britney both 'return' to the top ten. Britney technically doesn't return, as she previously peaked at number 11, but anyone who finds a problem with that has way too much time on their hands anyway :P Other than Fergie, this week's top 20 is actually rather uneventful, with the only new entry being Robbie Williams, climbing two places with his, erm, different approach to music than before. :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer:  1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 weeks (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11/12 - LL Cool J feat. The big recycling is at its clearest this week at the bottom of the chart with 8 consecutive fallers, including the biggest ever fall out of the top ten care of Justin. To be fair on him, it is a good song, but I've overplayed it so much this summer that he was lucky it didn't happen sooner. So, with so many songs going out with a bang, it's only fair we get a new number one! Enter the years biggest paradox - I Don't Feel Like Dancin', which, er, actually DOES make me feel like dancin', and is such a great song that just mentioning it made me play it on iTunes and get up and shake my booty around the room, earning me strange looks from people outside as we're washing our net curtains today. Now THAT'S how you know a song is good! The song give the Scissor Sisters their 5th number one, in addition to Laura, Mary, Take Your Mama Out and Filthy/Gorgeous, which is possibly the oddest Xmas number one I have ever had. The big recycling ushers Alesha, Cherish and Snow Patrol into the top ten. Alesha has been hovering inside the top 20 for a few weeks now, and her physical release gives her the now obligatory hike in the chart. Cherish are an R&B girl group labeled as Ciara wannabes. Well I like Ciara, hence the 25 place climb into the chart - also, the Sean Paul in this track is NOT the Sean Paul you are thinking of, but a member of the YoungBloodz rap group, whoever they are. Snow Patrol are a group who aren't normally my cup of tea, maybe gaining the odd top 30 hit or two, but their exposure this week from the use of Chasing Cars on the Big Brother finale made it impossible to deny them a top ten place. Strong contender for next weeks number one. Shakira climbs into the top 20 with her follow-up to her truthful hips, Illegal, a soft number which should do well upon release, even if it is unlikely to emulate her hips' successes. Coming in at 14 is a cheeky little number from Akon, Smack That, which Eminem is also featured on. I discovered this song yesterday, and the fact that it made it into the top 20 on one day's plays shows that had I discovered this earlier in the week it would almost certainly have made it into the top ten. Along with Snow Patrol, this is a very strong contender for next week's honours. Also entering the top 20 are Chamillionaire following the physical release of Ridin', Madonna with her re-release of Holiday Jessica Simpson with A Public Affair and JoJo with Too Little, Too Late. See you next week! :cheer: Number 1s of 2006 :cheer:  1 - Mary J Blige - Be Without You (2/1/06-8/1/06) 1 week (+ 6 weeks in 2005) 2 - The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (9/1/06-12/2/06) 5 weeks 3 - Ne-Yo - So Sick (13/2/06-19/2/06) 1 week 4 - Orson - No Tomorrow (20/2/06-5/3/06) 2 weeks 5 - Rihanna - SOS (Rescue Me) (6/3/06-12/3/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (13/3/06-26/3/06) 2 weeks 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (27/3/06-1/4/06) 1 week 6 - Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (2/4/06-8/4/06) 1 week (3 n-c wks) 7 - Prince - Black Sweat (9/4/06-15/4/06) 1 weeks (2 n-c wks) 8 - Prince - Love - (16/4/06-29/4/06) 2 weeks 9 - Busta Rhymes - Touch It - (30/4/06-5/5/06) 1 week 10 - Orson - Bright Idea - (6/5/06-12/5/06) 1 week 11/12 - LL Cool J feat.
