Hey all, so I will be starting my countdown around the middle of December 15th December (was going to do it on Fri 16th but have finalised everything tonight so may as well just do it a day earlier) (since I doubt anything huge will break out in the last week).

I will be updating the thread way before then with a spotify top 100 & a selection of tracks to have missed the cut!

Bring it on! *.*

ROB'S ALBUM OF THE YEAR (via default since I barely listen to any albums nor do I think any I would enjoy every track on the album too)

619YraxsDdL.jpg

It's from Elle King, I got the album for my birthday and to much surprise there was NO duds on it :o thoroughly enjoyable and had literally every bit of music you could possibly imagine all thrown in to every song, in fact back when I had to study genre styles at uni, this would have been a perfect example of artistry for any project!

Here's my top 5 rank aside from the singles

1. Song of Sorrow

2. Kocaine Karolina

3. Where The Devil Don't Go

4. Jackson

5. I Told You I Was Mean

whilst I'm taking another week or so to sort out what will be in my top 100, here's a few BJSC entries that are way off the mark and won't be in my top 100!

& a few other songs non BJSC related!

For the first time since there debut there is NO Lawson tracks in my top 100, this made it all the way to the top 10 in February but didn't last long enough in the chart overall to make my top 100!

So they went from singing about Cake By Oceans to a Toothbrush  unfortunately for DNCE this Toothbrush got rusty too quick. The song didn't click me in the end and so fails to make an impressions and make my top 100 where it got as high as #30 in my chart back in July!

and Coldplay are another band who usually do very well in my EOY chart, this was even a huge hit peaking at #6 officially however only peaked at #18 in my chart and didn't chart for very long. To put it simple... overrated!

whilst we're on the topic of big hits, this big official #1 hit from Mike Posner also underperformed on my chart with a peak of #22 hence not doing quite the business for my eoy I'm afraid!

p.s. Boston Bun & Hartebees are the only 3 of my BJSC entries along with Generik to fail to make the top 100. Every other track is in there but which will finish highest? :o

Never listened to the Elle King album but enjoyed both Ex's and Oh's and Under the Influence, probably enjoyed the latter even more, it had a lovely little chorus and really showed off her interesting voice. Hope we get to see more of her in the future.

Looking forward to this Rob!

Coldplay and Mike Posnor not making it in

Nope ;)

Under the influence is so interesting I find. I didn't actually expect to like anything from Elle apart from E&O's! So very pleasantly surprised by that track and the the album in general. Even my mum likes the entire album when I was playing it in the lounge on my birthday lol.

Especially when my family are quite funny to really unknown artists!

Also on a related note Elle will be appearing 3 times in my top 100!

Thanks Josh, look out for my spotify top 100 shortly too when they do the annual playlist stuff round December :D

Spotify top 100 tracks of the year according to Wrapped!

100. Margaret - Cool Me Down

99. Twentyone pilots - Heathens

98. Offaiah - Trouble

97. Bruno Mars - 24K Magic

96. No Doubt - Don't Speak

95. Ms. Henrik - Slow Dancing

94. Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling

93. Hotel Gurada - Smoke Signals

92. Kris Menace - Waiting For You

91. Le Fil - Genesis

LOL LOL OL at Mattias' s dnq from last year slaying in the bottom 10 here  it's quite the addictive tune though. Surprised Heathens and in particular Cool Me Down are so low down. That Le Fil is so meh, I don't why I even looked at it as a potential :/

I'd forgotten about Lay It On Me! It's quite the tune though :music:

Yeah it is, she sings so beautifully on it too. There's also a remix or two on Spotify if you're interested in a dance version btw!

Joined by a new track of there's too *.* a few Bjsc entries/potentials and even a Unknown Pleasure track that I looked at as a Bjsc potential till I noticed it was entered to UP. 2 consecutive years of No Frills Twins appearing too *.*

Placebo making an appearance too thanks to me studying it for songs to learn on guitar. Actually there are quite a few oldie random tracks to come that I learnt playing on guitar :')

Anyone wanna come to comment on my spotify chart? Would be much appreciated.

Whilst I bump it up. Here's another batch.

70. Sia - The Greatest

69. Lawson - Money

68. Hydrogen Child - Sirens

67. Tunevaag & Raaban - Parade

66. Charlotte OC - Darkest Hour

65. Rag N Bone Man - Human

64. FMLYBND - Come Alive

63. Alyss - TSIER

62. Against the Current - Running With The Wild Things

61. Boston Bun - Paris Groove (Club Mix)

Lots of BJSC stuff, two entries of mine here too in the form of Paris Groove & my debut entry in August of last year from Tunevaag & Raaban. Again like with The Veronicas, I have a sneaky feeling Parade was around here again in 2015, making it two consecutive yearly showings. Parade remained my best peaked song in Bjsc until Billie Ray Martin beat it 13 months later!

Let's flip roles now for a minute and spoil the top 10 since I've edited my top 5 into the lounge thread & then I'll Continue with 11-60 afterwards!

My top 10

1. Keys&Cages - Invisible

2. Vyan - Hard to Break

3. Alan Walker - Faded

4. Ignea - Alga

5. Markus Schulz Ft Delacey - Destiny

6. Genevieve - Show Your Colors (PLS&TY Remix)

7. Alice & The Glass Lake - Coals

8. Mishcatt - Gun To The Head

9. MØ - Final Song

10. Elle King - Ex's & Oh's

A very good bunch I'd say. Surprised Alga is that high already when I first heard it in late October to enter to last month's Bjsc. In fact 4 of my Bjsc entries here. Invisible being the only one to dnq. WTF??? Please vote for it in rejects

Some Eoy smash Hits #1 contenders here in the form of MØ, Elle & Alan Walker who have all been huge in my chart this year!
